It should be obvious. If the federal government wanted a fence to be built to prohibit illegal immigrants from entering our country, it would be built.

Despite their continued commentary to the contrary, our progressive leaders actually want illegal immigration, many housed in sanctuary cities.

For starters, they like the cheap labor, but much deeper in scope, these folks deem America an oppressive nation and wish to transfer the wealth to those America stepped on along the way to becoming the superpower it now is, although efforts by the current administration to diminish our standing have been quite effective.

In addition, they seek open borders. That is why you see continued efforts to govern outside of the Constitution, hoping to make it irrelevant in the future.  Treaties with the UN, monetary agreements with the IMF and so forth are designed to render the Constitution powerless and place Uncle Sam under control of a global governance of un-elected bureaucrats that are out of the reach of your ballot box.

As for NASCAR's Coke Zero 400, where the above pictured crash took place late last Sunday evening, I found the #3 NRA Chevrolet SS of Austin Dillon to be a pretty sharp looking ride earlier in the week in a practice session at the World Center of Racing, the Daytona International Speedway.

Deep Freeze

Once again, the nation finds itself in a deep freeze.



Just this past year, the Buffalo Bills had to move a game from the friendly confines of Orchard Park, NY to Detroit due to a massive snowstorm that left Ralph D. Wislon stadium unable to host a game. Boston has had reached a historical record in snowfall this year as well.  It was just a few years back NASCAR had to cancel qualifying at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway was snowed under this past week.

No doubt, it will be brutal tomorrow night at the High Banks at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona Duel 150's.

Although the media continues to hammer the public about the horrors of man made global warming, or as they now phrase it, global climate change, even as the nation freezes to death, much of the public remain convinced there is merit to these claims.  In short, they do not believe their own thermometers.

We have long said that Global Warming, or Global Climate Change, is among the greatest hoaxes of all time, a vehicle of the transfer of wealth.  Investors Business Daily editorialized about the re-branding, designed to mask the truth, which seems frosted upon everyone's hair tonight.

When we look for top notch weather data and forecasting, we turn to Joe Bastardi, Chief Forecaster at WeatherBell Analytics.  In a piece over at The Heartland Institute, Bastardi combats some of the propaganda presented in the media.

As global climate change summit's continue to be cancelled due to snowstorms and with the nation in yet another deep freeze, even if you have been brainwashed to believe the global warming alarmists, your freezing body is presenting you the truth.

As we have noted previously, it is important to note that global warming, or the newly defined global climate change, is not about weather.  These people have no idea if it is going to rain next Tuesday in their own back yard.  It is about governmental control, the transfer of wealth, and limitations on real property, restricting property rights under the global premise of social justice.

As the brilliant Michael Ramirez so eloquently stated, it is the truth that is the endangered species in the global climate change "lack" of debate.  The science is settled tonight, with a low of 27 degrees expected here tonight in Orlando.

High Stakes on the High Banks

Speedweeks 2014 over at The World Center of Racing has begun.

A week from today, the week culminates with the 58th running of The Great American Race, the Daytona 500.

Bowden Dadgums Daytona!

Legendary former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden gave the command to start engines for the Coke Zero 400 with his folksy flare Saturday night at The World Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway.
 

Bowden was a big hit in the drivers meeting and during pre race interviews. Tallahassee.com reported "Bowden wore black pants with an FSU logo. When asked if they were part of his severance package, he quipped, "Boy, I took everything I could."   As an FSU booster, fine with me.

Bowden rubbed elbows charming all the dignitaries, including HLN host Robin Meade, who look fabulous singing the National Anthem.

Always great to see Coach Bowden, ya know it. Bowden had never been to a Sprint Cup race before, but figured he would enjoy it. After giving the command, he was fixin to find out.

It was good to get Bowden acquainted with Daytona International Speedway; giants in their own way in history here in the Sunshine State.  Go Seminoles!

Independence Day

Looking forward to rolling over to the high banks of Daytona International Speedway on Saturday for the Coke Zero 400. The good ole boys are set to stand on it.

NASCAR has come a long way since Ronald Reagan witnessed Richard Petty win his 200th race in his famed #43 STP Pontiac Grand Prix on July 4, 1984. Tammy Wynette performed back in the day, but on Saturday, it will be Martina McBride.

Looking forward to hearing her do her strong hit his weekend, Independence Day!



Florida State Seminole Head Football Coach Jimbo Fisher is the Grand Marshal and will give the command to start engines! God Bless America, Let Freedom Ring and Go 'Noles! And by all means, as we roll up into the 31 degree banking on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway, stand on it!

Horror on the High Banks

Ten years ago this past February, NASCAR and millions of fans lost legendary seven time NASCAR Champion Dale Earnhardt in a crash on turn four of the high banks during the running of The Great American Race, The Daytona 500.

A group of us found out the devastating news in a limo heading back to Orlando from the race, which was won by winless Michael Waltrip, who was driving a Chevrolet owned by Earnhardt's team, Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. Earnhardt's crash did not look all that bad to our naked eye up in the grandstands, however a wild crash on the Superstretch involving Tony Stewart looked like a crash with the potential to create a serious injury.

Like many NASCAR fans, the loss of Dale Earnhardt was a crushing blow to many inside the sport, including Kenny Schrader, Sterling Marlin of course Dale Earnhardt, Jr , and even the NASCAR corporate family. A staggering loss indeed.

But, perhaps the crash had the most negative effect on Michael Waltrip, who Dale was blocking for at the time of the crash, which was coming out of turn four on the final lap. Waltrip, whose older brother Darrell is a NASCAR Champion and FOX Commentator, seemed fine, having won a second 500 and a Pepsi 400 in the following years, as I witnessed pictured below,

and form his own racing team, which after a slow start, is most competitive with drivers Martin Truex, Jr and David Reutimann, and has won a few races.

But Waltrip was still hurting, and it appears the writing of this book has helped him come full circle in dealing with the incredible highs and lows of that tragic day for all of us in Daytona that day.

Glenn Beck, who is not a sports guy, attended the Daytona 500 this past year, which was the 10th anniversary of Earnhardts death. Beck and his family had a blast, but Beck did not get a chance to meet Micheal Waltrip. Beck was aware of the his story, and was pulling for him in the race until a crash took out the #15.

Today, on Beck's national syndicated radio program, he had a chance to visit with Michael and discuss the book. The range of emotions Waltrip suffered through that day is something most of us will not have to bear, but hearing how he worked his way through it is most compelling. Take a listen:

Sunday Night Song

As we look back this weekend on the 10th anniversary of the crash that took the life of Dale Earnhardt during the final lap of the 2001 Daytona 500, we think of the many memories we all share.

In that regard, tonights Sunday Night Song is Garth Brooks and The Dance, performed live as a tribute to The Intimidator at the 2001 NASCAR awards ceremony.

Lets Go Racing Boys

We are set for the 52nd running of the Great American Race, The Daytona 500. Good Luck to my favorites Bobby Labonte, who is piloting the #71 TaxSlayer Chevrolet, and Tony Stewart, who I think will finally win the 500 this Sunday in his #14 Office Depot Chevrolet.

At any rate, it is going to be crisp and cold on the Daytona Superstretch. Stand on it!
