Orlando Tragic

With news gathering organizations around the world looking on yesterday, a jury found Casey Anthony not guilty on all counts of murdering her adorable two year old daughter Caylee.

Normally, I would not be commenting on such stories, but with everyone from Nancy Grace to Geraldo Rivera lurking about town, I recognize this is a huge local event happening right here in Orlando, in neighboring zip codes to my homestead.

Although I am not an attorney and did not follow the case closely, (yes, I know, why make commentary?) it appears the State over-reached in the level of charges they prosecuted Casey on. That being said, while mostly circumstantial, the evidence the State of Florida presented establishes that is reasonable to conclude that Casey Anthony was at a minimum negligent in the care of a minor who turned up dead and was participatory in the dumping of the body.

It is truly a sad state of affairs concerning this dysfunctional family. I heard testimony in which Cindy Anthony perjured herself and George Anthony seemed to lose credibility each time he opened his mouth. However, they were not on trial.

Everyone on the street around here knows Casey was up to her little eyeballs in Caylee's death. Even though I hope Judge Belvin Perry, who is highly respected in these parts, throws the book at Casey, it appears she will be free to party about town this weekend. How sad!

Ultimately, she will get what she has coming. Of that, I have no doubt.

Shortly after Defense Attorney Jose Baez preached to us about the ills of the death penalty in his post trial media appearance, the winning legal team, in highly inappropriate behavior, was witnessed titling champagne at a celebration at a nearby restaurant in public view. Defense attorney Cheney Mason is reported to have given a handful of onlookers the finger.

Thanks to this crowd, a dead little girl gets no justice and the central figure in her demise, a negligent mother and now convicted liar, is free to roam the streets. An injustice to be sure in the tragic killing of a little girl in our community, and all the sensible residents of Orlando's Orange County know it.

Left Aims to Incite Violence

Geraldo Rivera joined most of the other media outlets in an attempt to smear the tea party patriots across this great land on his program Geraldo at Large on Saturday night, and in a follow up interview, Tea Party Express Chairman Mark Williams let him have it. Take a listen:

Rivera acted like he had no idea what Williams was speaking of. Geraldo is therefore either an idiot or is lying about the piece he presented. Did you guess both?

The story in question, which I heard live in its entirety, was for sure a hit piece. Geraldo's brother Craig held an interview with the some chap from the Southern Poverty Law Center in an effort to conflate (ADD MOMENT: don't you just love the new popularity of this word) radical militia groups with the tea partiers and label the tea party participants as angry white racists. Why? For the Obama administration, and progressives in Congress, the tea party is an unexpected problem, and a huge one at that. Therefore, even though they represent middle America and have exhibited zero violence in the thousands of rallies they have held over the past year, they must be discredited.

Certainly, the usual suspects are marching in lock step in the effort to plant the negative narrative about the tea party patriots. Did you hear former President Bill Clinton, as we honor victims on the weekend of the fifteenth anniversary of the Oklahoma city bombing, sound off? How about the deplorable efforts by NBC News. FOX & Friends filed a decent report:

NBC News Chris Matthews provided an outlet for Kathleen Parker, a fellow FSU graduate who should really be ashamed of herself, and Time Magazine's Joe Klein to weigh in. Not be left out, CBS News got a late start.

Geraldo came back with further insults to the tea party on his Sunday evening show, interupting a report by the lovely Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Understand what is taking place. The Tea Party movement has those in power petrified and fierce and overwhelming steps must be taken to discredit the movement, including putting forth a narrative that paints the movement as radical, even if it is only the good, hard working taxpayers of America. This is despicable behavior by our leaders and the mainstream media, as it appears from their actions they are trying to incite violence.

Martin Luther King, JR would be appalled! So is middle America, and so am I!

Rethink Kerik Penalty

SCREENSHOT/TVPERV.COM

With football finished there is not much going on Sunday night, other than prolonging the arrival of Monday, and with that I often find myself tuned into Geraldo at Large on FNC. Doesn't Kimberly Guilfoyle just look lovely?

Anyhow, this past Sunday Geraldo profiled the case of former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, who was recently sentenced to jail for accepting improper benefits in the form of some construction work while in office. And sentenced he was! MOXNEWS.com has the video. Take a listen:

I admittedly am not a scholar on the case, but reports suggest the Judge slapped Kerik with the maximum penalty, and then some. Guilfoyle, a former Assistant District Attorney, agreed the sentence was inexcusably harsh, exceeding an agreed upon range of sentencing by the opposing counsels.

From all accounts, Kerik has admitted he made errors in judgement and is prepared to pay the price for those decisions. But, it appears the judge in this case threw the book at Kerik for some untold reason.

Given that Kerik is a military veteran and served this nation in outstanding fashion during and in the aftermath of 9-11 in his capacity with NYPD, I think the sentence handed him was excessive and should be reviewed and adjusted.

I, for one, Thank You Mr. Kerik and wish you well.

Hottie Toddy Everybody!

The euphoria associated with Ole Miss emerging under first year coach Houston Nutt has FOX's Sudio B host Sheppard Smith quite looped from the Kool-Aid he has no doubt been drinking. He defensively proclaimed there was no media bias in the election of Barack Obama! Looped? Call it shit canned!

Several newspapers have since stated the bias they had toward Obama, and MSNBC was the NYC Obama headquarters. NBC is loaded with pro Obama folks, led on CNBC by John Harwood, who was simply disgusting in his nightly "equitable assessment" during appearances on Kudlow & Company, and the ridiculous tandem of Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews on MSNBC.

I suspect Smith is showing his bias. I recall Smith, along with Geraldo Rivera, was strongly critical of the Bush administration for the handling of Hurricane Katrina. This of course the natural disaster where Bush told folks living in a city 8 feet under sea level with the storm of all ages bearing down to leave, they did not, and paid the cnsequences of their actions, much to the dismay of Smith and Rivera.

Shepp has come a long way from covering the car wrecks down here in Orlando for WCPX-CBS-6, but he is obviously full of himself if he remotely suspects his profession is not biased in it's political coverage. Obama supporter, idiot or liar? Hottie Toddy Everybody!
