Inside Outside Upside Down

In my daily whip around the world wide web in search of credible information, I usually make a stop by The Drudge Report. In recent days, some of the stories I came across there echo what I feel in my gut, that the world has practically turned inside, outside, upside down.

Presented below are a handful of recent stories with some short commentary on each.

China downgrades US as our economic situation continues to worsen. China is not innocent in destabilizing trade and currency manipulation, but given they hold so much of our debt, we are in a pickle. Hopefully, we learned from The Great Depression that protectionism is not a prudent avenue to travel, but given our recent actions we have not. Not only are we engaging in dangerous trade policies, we are manipulating our own currency.

It appears there is an Orderly Decline of the Dollar taking place. Central to sound economics, and a pillar of the Reagan Revolution, is a strong dollar. With The FED exhausting the printing press, it would seem that our debt is being monetized, decreasing the value of the dollar, which is quite dangerous. Billionaire hedge fund manager George Soros, who Glenn Beck is accurately exposing this week, has called for global governance. Soros, who has crashed foreign currencies and is noted as the man who broke The Bank of England, controls through media operations and financial positions much of the progressive agenda wrecking our sovereignty. Through an orderly decline of the dollar, Soros and his agents can remove monetary power of the single largest obstacle to global governance, which is the free market capitalists of The United States of America. This is quite alarming, and even The Maestro, former FED Chair Alan Greenspan, is concerned.

Off the west coast, low and behold, we find Unidentified Flying Missiles. After decades of being spooked by the potential existence of spaceships and aliens, nobody seems the slightest bit alarmed that the apparent missile launch cannot, at least publicly, be explained by any US military or governmental official. Surely, with all the high level security we got over at Area 51, we can come up with something plausible. It seems the public thinks this is no big deal. Maybe Big Foot water skiing on Lake Tahoe would do it, but given the American Idiot society we live in these days, maybe not. Then again, what is this firestreak across the NYC skyline?

Obama Slams Israel yet again, which is the opposite position of every President of my lifetime. It boggles the mind how this guy got elected, but I can assure you the greater majority of the US citizenry does not concur with his repeated Israel bashing. Nor do we appreciate his continuing assault on America from foreign soil. Back in the day, this would not be tolerated, and should not be now.

Government Elites Living Large during high level meeting to discuss fraud in the stimulus package. The whole thing is a fraud, and the administration going around pontificating about the several million jobs they saved or created is nothing short of lying to the American people. This erroneous rhetoric raises my already elevated blood pressure. Since when do we tolerate our President lying to our face in discussion of his stimulus package, and then, having his administration slap us upside the face by having lavish meetings to investigate fraud in the package. I recognized the fraud the day it was announced.

A Stranded Ship Although I have always been a boater and have been offshore in my own boat on many occasions, I have always been inclined to steer clear of the cruise ships. Perhaps it is a control thing, who knows. Warnings after 9-11 about terrorists potentially unleashing some sort of deadly virus aboard one further extended my apprehension. I now read of a Carnival cruise ship floating powerless in the Pacific due to an engine fire, creating less than favorable conditions aboard while waiting rescue. No doubt, an odd turn of events which one would not wish to be part of. On top of that, the beer was warm.

Obama AWOL on Veterans as he barely recognized the heart and soul of our great nation, our Veterans, on Veterans day. The sacrifices made by our Veterans go far beyond what any words can describe, but one word I never hear from President Obama, is victory, Our country exists today because our Veterans were victorious. Today, Hail to the Victors! My heartfelt thanks and may God Bless You All!


There are many very puzzling things going on these days, so much so it seems that life has turned inside, outside and upside down. I conclude the worst is not behind us yet, so adhere to the principles of your faith, the founding fathers and free market capitalism to weather the storm.

Run For Paydirt!

Although Reagan made this comment in 1964 in his "A Time For Choosing" speech, the commentary is dead on here in 2010.

Before you can win, you must be in a position to loose. You must take risks to gain ground, and instill a work ethic superior to your competitor. These winning traits are not found in the land of socialist thought, but are found in the free market system.

Few places provide a greater illustration of preparation, work ethic, risk taking and aspiration than the color and pageantry of college football. On the gridiron we find witness by example the principles our great nation were founded on.

Former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden recently released a promotional video called "Get Coached". I learned quite a bit from Coach Bowden over the years, and maybe you can too. Take a listen:



Competition, preparation, education and risk taking, found every Saturday, are also the ingredients found in the entrepreneurial spirit. The governmental elites, who think they make decisions for you better than you can for yourself, were thankfully defeated on Tuesday. Their efforts to break the entrepreneurial spirit have been dealt a serious blow.

We were given a Republic, if we can keep it. Unless the best strategic move, why settle for field goals when we can score touchdowns? Go for it! Run for paydirt!

Vote to Change The Future!

When folks are unchallenged and awarded for average performance, the path to greatness is handicapped. When individuals fail to reach for uncharted achievement, out society is the loser. An ill-informed society, one given benefits without earning anything, leads to a myriad of bad things. As an example, please see the following:



With idiots like this running around, considering themselves informed and hitting the voting booth, it is no wonder our government thinks they should dictate our every affair. Even though, obviously, many Americans are failing miserably in their responsibilities as citizens to educate themselves on how our government functions and to gain a command on the issues, government should not expand control over our citizenry. With our elected representatives disrespecting the electorate, due to horrendous policies being implemented by the ruling class, in their arrogance, our future is on the verge of being very bleak:

Samuel Adams once said "If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin."

The time of choosing is upon us. It is time for the experienced patriots Adams spoke of to stand up, for if we are not careful, the far distant capital Reagan refers to will not be in Washington.

Take a few moments to think about what has been taking place. Corruption is rampant, transparency is non existent, regulation is expanding and our leaders are not even reading, or writing, legislation. It is easy to see how out of control this is. Why is every sizable legislation now a rush or emergency? The administration wants to act quickly before you recognize what is taking place and rise up in opposition. Well, they ain't seen nothing yet!

Unfortunately, the time is immediately upon us to become participatory in the fight against tyranny that is right in front of us through the use of non-violent and legal activities.

Idiots at Large

On April 1, 2010, we got word, and video, The United States hit a new low, demonstrating quite effectively that idiots are running this country right into the ground. Please see the following commentary by Congressman Hank Johnson (D:GA) directed at Admiral Robert Willard during an Armed Services Committee hearing.



Are you trying to kid me? No, this was not an April fools joke; you can't make this stuff up. What a complete idiot!

Johnson, a member of the progressive caucus, should immediately resign his office due to stupidity. In addition to being a moron, Johnson is also a hypocrite. Johnson responded to the State of the Union address by President George W. Bush in 2007 by saying "This war has proven to be one of the gravest missteps in the recent history of our country. It is time for President Bush to face the music and respond to the urgent demands of a frustrated country."

With Tea Party participants far outnumbering anti Iraq war protesters, has anyone heard Congressman Johnson ask President Obama to "face the music and respond to the urgent demands of a frustrated country"? I did not think so.

Johnson replaced Cynthia McKinney, who is perhaps the all time moonbat queen in Congressional history.

Our country is being run, in large measure, by a bunch of absolute idiots. Although we get the governing we deserve by electing these folks, there is something that should be done immediately to help set up a road block on the avenue of electing idiots.

We need to reverse the gerrymandered congressional districts, going back to a collection of neighboring zip codes. While some of the districts make no sense and are almost comical, they also are putting the country at risk. President Bush offered commentary on the subject in 2008, noting that these types of districts polarize the Congress and foster incumbency.

By continuing along with the gerrymandered districts, without term limits, we will continue to have less than stellar, and downright embarrassing, representation among our elected officials. Look no further than Congressman Johnson, and his predecessor, Ms. McKinney, idiots at large, for the devastating evidence.

Political Crossroad Approaching Fast

With the announcement that US Senator Mel Martinez (R:FL), an Orlandoan and fellow Seminole whose term I view as a solid disappointment, will not seek re-election, a list of candidates on both sides has emerged. It is on the Republican side that a real time for choosing is at hand, as it appears this election will be a microcosm for the entire country.

The Republican battle seems to be between current Florida Governor Charlie Christ and former Speaker of The State House of Representatives Marco Rubio. The debate has begun.



The popularity of Charlie Christ has dropped considerably over the last several months. I have met Christ, voted for him for Governor and generally like him (another fellow Seminole). Like many, I was appalled when he joined with President Obama in supporting the stimulus, or spendulus, package, which has been quite unsuccessful.

In thinking of the unsavory direction the Obama administration is taking the country, and in particular the spending package which Christ supports, the time is now to stand up and separate ourselves from the politicians which do not stand behind a set of core conservative principles. The primary is the place to put forth a candidate that has those principles, which will make you vote for a candidate in the general election rather than choosing the best of two evils.

That candidate in this Senate race is Marco Rubio, who has established a solid record in the State House, inclduing on the very important issue of property rights, and is vigorously against the policies put forth by the Obama administration. I hope you will join me in supporting Rubio in the primary.

If Christ prevails, he will get my support over the list of Democrats currently running. And if I see him up in the University Center at an FSU game, I will respectfully give him a piece of my mind.

Lets get behind Rubio to make sure this does not happen! In my opinion, America is at a very dangerous crossroad. The time for choosing is now!

Don't Get Fooled Again

Like many of you out there, I have been trying to evaluate what exactly is going on in Washington. Decisions are being made which make no economic sense placing our country in great peril all the while laws are being broken (debt holders in the car bailouts).

A full assault on small business seemingly trying to break the entrepreneurial spirit is coupled with a severe ramp up in excessive costs, taxation and regulation. Massive government laws are being proposed and passed without the proper debate. In fact, the congress is not only not reading these bills, they are passing bills in principle that have not even been crafted yet. And, this is being done against public approval.

Should the Congress ever get a backbone, some 35 Tsars have been created to push the agenda. These individuals answer to the President, and are not accountable to the American people.

The system is being overwhelmed. The federal deficit is expanding exponentially with money we do not have, saddling generations to come with a smothering debt. This is nonsensical. What is going on?

As usual, Glenn Beck has a thought, and regrettably, I feel he is right on target. Take a listen.



Essentially, through massive government programs, it boils down to redistribution of wealth, from those that have it to those who do not, which disproportionally effects, and in this case, benefits minorities.

I am wholeheartedly against this. I remember in grade school the kids who disrupted class and did not apply themselves, for whatever reason. They are the ones who did not put the hard work necessary into preparing themselves to be competitive in the marketplace and therefore are not as successful as others may be.

In the capitalist system, there are winners and losers. If you are losing, you work through vehicles like education and work ethic to become more competitive. This is the thought process that made this country great, and losing it to socialist policies like government initiated redistribution of wealth, particularly to right perceived wrongs from the past, will no doubt lower the standard of living, eventually, for all of us.

This adminstration is pulling a fast one on all of us. Educate yourself and don't be fooled!

The Cars Americans Want

We continue to hear from analysts from every nook and cranny that the American car companies do not build cars that Americans want. This is nonsense, and I have written about it extensively on the blog, most notably HERE and HERE.

AOL ran a story today listing a handful of some outstanding vehicles and identifying cheaper alternatives called "Drive Like Rockstar On A Roadie's Budget"

Here is what AOL had to say about the BMW M5, which by all accounts is a superb vehicle, priced at around $80,000.

When it comes to sports sedans, there are few who would deny the M5 a rightful place at the top. The limited-production M5 can out-accelerate, out-brake and out-corner some of the most expensive sports cars, with comfortable seating for five. It's powered by a hand-built 500-hp 5.0-liter V10, with suspension and brakes enhanced to match all the power. Buyers can choose between a 7-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) with steering wheel paddles or 6-speed manual transmission

And AOL's suggested alternative, priced at $35,000, the Pontiac G8 GXP, the newly named wide track Grand Prix:

The Pontiac G8 (especially the V-8 versions found in GT and GXP trims) is every bit the poor man's (or maybe it's more correctly noted as "wise man's") BMW M5. Aping the performance-minded rear-drive setup of the BMW, Pontiac's hot sedan puts down 355 horsepower in GT trim or a whopping 415 in GXP trim. That's serious armament for a vehicle that starts in the high 20s (or low to mid 30s for the V-8s). While the Pontiac will never confuse itself for BMW on the inside, we think the sporty and clean lines of the exterior are a no-nonsense homage to some of BMW's best. In fact, we might even opt for the Pontiac even if money was no option.

I already have opted for the Pontiac G8 (Grand Prix) GXP.

And while these glowing assessments of the Pontiac G8 GXP continue, like this one, Obama's and his Car Tsar have taken over GM and decided to eliminate the Pontiac Motor Division. This is yet another "brilliant' move by the group of morons running our country these days.

The Knockout Of A Boxer

Representing the bankrupt state of California, Senator Barbara Boxer continues to operate with a level of arrogance not becoming a US Senator.

Just over a month ago, Boxer hammered a Brigadier General for no reason displaying her loathing of the US Military. She found it completely inappropriate for him to refer to her as Maam instead of Senator. She worked really hard to get that title.

This week, she dug herself quite a hole by insulting the Chairman of the National Black Chamber of Commerce. Glenn Beck makes commentary on it:



While insulting all kinds of folks, she is still operating on the clean energy global warming mantra all the while her state is insolvent, primarily due to spending large sums of money is does not have on the junk science otherwise known as global climate change.

Is it not time for the fine folks of California to put to pasture this arrogant, racist anti-military excuse for a Senator?

Morris Details The Obama Catastrophe

Say what you will about Dick Morris, the information he puts forth in this book is a must read for the American citizenry, and I think it is right on target. Please take a few moments to hear the case from Morris in the following two part segment:

Thuggery From Within

During the 2008 Presidential campaign, when attempting to evaluate the work Barack Obama had accomplished as a Senator from Illinois, it took quite some doing amongst all the votes present that were recorded.

Among the very few items uncovered, one located was a bill sponsored by Claire McCaskill, D:MO, which Obama piggybacked on and co-sponsored. As reported by The Kansas City Star, McCaskill last year sponsored a bill protecting inspectors general from partisan firings. No longer can presidents simply note they have “lost confidence” in a watchdog. The new law requires the chief executive to note the actual reason for a firing and to allow Congress 30 days to investigate the claims.

Fast forward to the past week, where lo and behold, an Inspectors General was fired by Obama without the chief executive noting the actual reason and not allowing 30 days for the Congress to investigate the claims. Byron York of The Washington Examiner and Glenn Beck of FOX News discuss and interview Gerald Walpin, the fired Inspector General. Take a listen:



Oh my! Now that is a fantastic example of upholding the law and what transparency! Kind of like the 5 days Obama promised the citizens of the United States would have to examine bills when the spendulous package was rammed through so fast even the members of Congress had not time to read it. They even dragged some congressman back from his mothers funeral to vote on it only for Obama to sign it at a photo opt 5 days later. Good grief America!

After a few days when a storm cloud seemed to be brewing regarding the firing, the White House played hardball, claiming Walpin "was confused, disoriented, unable to answer questions and exhibited other behavior that led the Board to question his capacity to serve." Glenn Beck is on the case, and he gave Walpin a competency test. In English!

Amazingly, Obama is fooling quite a few folks because he is practicing thuggery from the oval office. Since when do we Americans appreciate our governance being run in this fashion?

No doubt, Michael Barrone was quite correct in a column during the campaign predicting this whole scenario.

If you do not want to run car companies as you state, don't. Ditto banks and insurance companies. And quit strong arming corporate executives, whether personally as with Mr. Walpin or Rick Wagoner of GM or through your surrogates as evidenced by the despicable behavior by ACORN and your media partners during the AIG bonus debacle.

America, please wake up!

Leaders on Left Loathe US Military

Fresh in many of our minds is the treatment of members of the United States Marine Corps by Pennsylvania Democratic Senator John Murtha. How he got re-elected by all those good folks he insulted in the Keytsone state is beyond me. But, is he a lone bird flying off at the mouth?

Can you imagine the arrogance of this woman? She worked very hard to get to be a Senator! Hard work? She would not know hard work if it rang her telephone. Come to think of it, compared to members of our Armed Services, neither do I. When I go bust my ass doing yard work or some other project I get to go home and take a hot shower and relax in my home before sleeping in my own bed. Not the Marines in Iraq, or the US ARMY in Afghanistan. God Bless Them!

I cannot imagine speaking to a member of the US Military in that disrespectful manner. I was not raised to behave like that, and neither were you. Senator Boxer should be quite ashamed of herself and in my mind, owes the Brigadier an apology.

I got news flash for Ms. Boxer. Most Americans have twenty times more respect for the members of the Untied States Military than we do arrogant, spineless politicians like you and Murtha. In fact, we find you offensive.

Media Malfeasance Jumps Shark

Most of the major newspapers are dying, not only from diminishing market share due to the internet, but because of the lack of journalistic integrity of the reporting. Objective reporting on the three major networks is regrettably a mere historical footnote. If not previously visible, the 2008 election was confirmation. Without question, the media is completely in the tank for Barack Obama, and spearheading the group is NBC News.

From the seemingly personal love affair with the Commander in Peacock Barack Obama by chief Washington correspondent John Harwood to the sense of royalty conveyed by NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams, the days of stellar journalism by the once proud peacock are dead.

Alarmingly, the brass at the very top seem to be directing this behavior, with parent company General Electric (GE:NYSE) CEO Jeffery Immelt, whose company stands to financially benefit from emerging green technologies Obama is employing. Perhaps that is what led Immelt to be asked to be on Obama's economic leadership panel. Certainly, it could not have been the stock price, which has crashed.

In a mind boggling move, ABC News is not to be outdone. ABC announced today that they will broadcast World News Tonight from the White House a week from Wednesday and then turn over programming for a special primetime event, "Prescription for America" to highlight the administrations health care agenda. This "town hall" meeting will be anything but, as dissenting voices will not be welcome. So much for Obama's appreciation for "robust debate".

This is beyond disturbing and our founding fathers would be appalled. Without GOP participation, which was denied, certainly the Democratic National Committee will be footing the bill. As a shareholder of The Walt Disney Corporation (DIS:NYSE), owners of The American Broadcasting Company, I will demand it by firing off a condemnation letter tomorrow. Could you imagine they will care?

The senior citizen crowd that grew up with Walter Cronkite and David Brinkley trust these folks still today, citing it as unfathomable they could be such unethical presenters of the world affairs. The younger voting block is right in tune with the rock star, so two thirds of the electorate is scammed by the media, creating a tough situation to overcome. Will the truth eventually win out? Will we still be a capitalistic society when it happens?

Don McLean sung about the day the music died in his wonderful song American Pie. Today, officially, network television objective journalism, previously on life support, died.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama took shots at Fox News and CBS News found it necessary to torpedo former President George W. Bush. Again. Good Grief!

As depressing as it is to have the Florida Gators as national champions of college football, it will drive you to drink thinking of some of the absolute idiots representing us in congress.

The Pounding of Palin Continues

The actions of the media these days is mind boggling, and in my view, extremely detrimental to our country. While untold shenanigans were taking place in Chicago, droves of media were scouring Alaska searching for dirt on Sarah Palin. You might conclude that since the election is over and with the political turmoil in Obama's home base of Chicago, that throwing Sarah Palin under the bus would grow old. You would be wrong. Insane accusations about her family continue to be investigated, and she continues to be attacked.

During the campaign, the media scolded us about how inexperienced Palin is, although as a sitting Governor and former Mayor she is more experienced than President Select Obama, or Caroline Kennedy for that matter. The relentless attacking of Palin by the media and other pundits indicates to me they are very afraid of her.

Palin has decided to speak out, and many think it is a bad move, including outlets on the right. I think it is wise to for her to be on the record and for her to call out the media on the vicious way they treated her and their love affair with Obama. I am looking forward to Bernie Goldberg's new book on the subject. Voices in this regard are very important, as apparently, few folks care or they are to stupid to recognize how the media is leading them. Speaking of media influence, I can't wait to hear how the economic news is turning brighter on January 21st.
