As predicted, in the aftermath of the tragedy in Newtown, the left immediately engaged in an effort to encroach on the rights of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. Last Tuesday, after reviewing recommendations presented after a study headed by VP Joe Biden, President Obama unleashed a series of regulatory measures, many unconstitutional, in an effort to combat gun violence. However, the measures cloak an attack on the second Amendment.
Of course, the left already had plans on how they might attack the second Amendment and waited until an event triggered an emotional response from the citizenry to attempt to enact legislation.
Remember, never let a crisis go to waste.
Although the Obama administration has never had issue with governing outside the consent of the American people, fearing legislative action the new legislative measures would ultimately fail, the regime sought increasing gun control through writing new law through executive action.
While many progressives in Congress have no issue with this, Senator Rand Paul, (R:KY) has had enough and is prepared to fight. Paul speaks to FOX News Sean Hannity on the subject:
Obama's neighborhood of the south side of Chicago, home to among the strictest gun laws, is perhaps America's murder capital, an urban killing field of young mostly African American men. Nobody from Obama to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel seems to care.
While those progressive elites have failed to address that problem they are most eager to severely restrict the citizens rights in the ownership of firearms.
Of course, it is really not about the guns. It about control over you, gun owner or not. After all, they know better how you should live your life.

The Truth Hurts
For a few years now, what is up seems down. Propaganda is rampant, and for the low information voting public, they are sold a series of falsehoods by a complicit media and, at the end of the day, have no earthly idea what is real or not.
The mirage is not only playing out in politics, but is a real issue in society and has even impacted the world of sports, as evidenced by the Lance Armstrong story and the bizarre events surrounding Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o.

America cheered as Lance Armstrong won all those Tour de France cycling races, and embraced his Livestrong charity efforts, which have no doubt helped millions of people. Cycling has been plagued by doping scandals, and while there were many accusations that swirled around Armstrong, he seemed above the fray. Not so fast my friend. Armstrong, who sued some of his accusers, has admitted doping, and now has joined Oprah on the couch to seek forgiveness. His actions suggest he might not be a good guy, but at any rate he is discredited and I really don't and won't pay him any mind.
The Manti Te'o story is really bizarre, and sad. The media failed miserably on this story, and it is sad that an individual can be duped to the scale Te'o was. The story has many tentacles; an individual longing for relationship, those who aim to associate with high profile celebrities or athletes looking for an undeserved piece of the pie bordering on extortion and a media who seeks to present a narrative that enhances opportunities for ratings. I don't think Te'o played a role in the hoax, although I think the events will negatively affect his draft status, which could cost him some change.
Political lying is certainly not new, and really seemed to reach a pinnacle when President Clinton lied about having sex with Monica Lewinsky. No such luck on that, for Obama has really taken obfuscation to previously unseen levels. With the media lap dogs cheering him on, and being criminally complicit in their lack of reporting the truth, the lies continue unabated by the traditional media. Alternative media, which accurately present the facts, are swarmed over and discredited by those who seek to perpetrate the fraud.
Political leaders in the past have utilized propaganda to run roughshod over a uninformed citizenry, and the results have been tyrannical and deadly. Perhaps we don't care what Lance Armstorng is doing, but we damn sure better pay attention to an oppressive political regime who aims to reduce your liberty and freedom.
Our political leaders are destroying our future, while publicly proclaiming everything is fine and the economy is improving.
Is that the truth knocking at the door?

Poisonous Bloom
Almost on a daily basis, mind boggling news stories come across the transom, and it is hard to recognize our country anymore. For some time, it seems we have been, via Dr. Suess, inside outside upside down. Blame for much of it lies at the hands of the progressive political leaders we not only elected, but failed to adequately supervise. Progressive elites are a narcissistic group who think they know better how to run your life, both personally and professionally through influencing social policy, than you do. While they, for the collective, are more than willing to govern your actions, they have no intention to live by those same rules.
Certainly, Barack Obama, he who "knows" we are going to have to change our history and traditions, is at the top of list, but in high speed pursuit is would be dictator Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City.
Without question, Bloomberg is out of control.
I would not elect Bloomberg, a former republican turned independent, to pick up the garbage outside. Good thing, because when pressed into action clearing the streets from snow in NYC, he failed miserably. But Bloomberg and his fellow progressives do not waste time learning from their failures, they mash the gas enacting additional governance over the people, restricting freedom and liberty.
For Bloomberg, the list is long. Bloomberg scolded Rudy Guiliani after 9-11 about postponing elections and holding office a little over the term due to the horrific recovery and clean up efforts. When a bomber almost set off a bomb in Times Square, Bloomberg speculated the bomber was a Tea Party member upset about Obamacare. Bloomberg banned food for the homeless because regulatory rules he implemented regarding salt and fat content could not be adequately monitored.
As you may suspect, Bloomberg fully supported the building of an Islamic Mega Mosque blocks from ground zero, and supported trying Guantanamo detainees in New York City. In the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, Boomberg called for an assault weapons ban.
Super storm Hurricane Sandy provided yet another opportunity of failure for Bloomberg, as citizens got very little of promised help. While Mayor Mike was successful in limiting freedom via curfews and road closings, when he toured the Rockaways in Queens he quite appropriately got an earful, while hiding behind his media officer (while he was standing there).
In a ridiculous move, Bloomberg also banned serving soft drinks over 16 ounces, which as you can see below, I gleefully violate with my 64 ounce Diet Coke. Oh thank heaven for 7-11.!
Bloomberg, and progressives all, are of the school of thought that it is their responsibility to control the citizenry by nudging behavior, limiting consumer choice and molding society into their Fabian socialist hearts content.
Bloomberg has really let his dictatorship in New York City go to is head, as his latest move to control the common folk has really gone too far. He is actually aiming to enact policy to inflict unnecessary pain on his constituents in limiting pain killers for law abiding citizens in NY Hospitals. Glenn Beck discussed this on his radio show the other day. Please take a listen:
Sadly, like Obama, Mayor Mike is dong quite a bit of damage, although the majority of our Yankee friends fail to recognize it. Bloomberg is exactly the type of elected official that must be thwarted with every legally permissible action. Politicians like him who think they are above the citizenry and govern as prospective dictators limit freedom and prosperity for all. Elitist hypocrites to be sure.
One would suspect, given his sky high opinion of himself, Bloomberg will attempt to tinker with the law to allow just one more mayoral term. Hopefully, New Yorkers will finally reach a level of sanity and defeat the man who would be King.
The bloom from the policies of his administration is poisonous to free market capitalism, liberty and freedom.

External Government Obsolescence

On Tuesday, The Supreme Court of the United States will hear a case regarding property rights centering on government control over an owners right to maximize the productivity or utility of the property. Of course, the founding fathers regarded ownership of private property as the foundation of freedom and prosperity.
FOX News Shannon Bream, a Tallahassee native who earned Juris Doctorate with honors from The Florida State University College of Law, has a report.
The Pacific Legal Foundation, the oldest and most successful public interest legal organization that fights for limited government, property rights, individual rights and a balanced approach to environmental protection, will be in front of the Supreme Court working with the Koontz family. Here is more regarding the public sector shakedown that has handicapped the ability of the Koontz family to maximize return on and of the vacant parcel.
The Hoover Institution has weighed in, recognizing the case is central to property rights, something John Adams found integral to freedom. In fact, most are unaware that before becoming the father of our country, George Washington was a surveyor and mapper.
The Orlando Sentinel had a front page story on the case, as interestingly enough, the property in question is about twenty minutes away, right here in Orange County, Florida just east of lovely downtown Orlando. Please see the maps below of the parcel.

Koontz proposed to develop 3.7 acres closest to Highway 50, back to and including the power line easement. In order to develop his property, he sought a management and storage of surface waters permit to dredge three and one quarter acres of wetlands. A staffer from St. Johns agreed to recommend approval if Koontz would deed the remaining portion of his property into a conservation area and perform offsite mitigation by either replacing culverts four and one-half miles southeast of his property or plug certain drainage canals on other property some seven miles away. Alternatively, St. Johns demanded that Koontz reduce his development to one acre and turn the remaining 14 acres into a deed-restricted conservation area. Koontz agreed to deed his excess property into conservation status but refused St. Johns' demands for offsite mitigation or reduction of his development from three and seven-tenths acres to one acre. Consequently, St. Johns denied his permit applications.
As PLF points out, the case asks whether the Constitution places limits on an agency’s ability to demand excessive amounts of money from a land use applicant in exchange for a permit to build on his property.
The American Farm Bureau Federation brilliantly summarizes the impact of the case to the agricultural community: To strengthen landowners’ ability to obtain compensation when permitting authorities impose an arbitrary or disproportionate requirement of money or services as a land-use permit condition, or when authorities refuse to issue a permit based on the landowner’s refusal to agree to an unconstitutional exaction of real property
This case will have significant national impact. Recently, we have been focused on the evil and restrictive policy issues surrounding Agenda 21, but the tentacles of this movement are very far reaching. If an ever increasing oppressive government, who already has tremendous power through code enforcement and the permitting process, can shakedown owners seeking permits to develop their owned property through imposing arbitrary fees, penalties and or taxes as a condition of obtaining permits is an extension of extraction that is unethical and unconstitutional, as I hope we are all about to find out.
A decision in favor of the government will no doubt open the door for the government to demand extraction wherever and whenever it wants. Be advised the government will utilize the decision to further seek the transfer of wealth and exponentially expand the globalist dreams found in Agenda 21, significantly reducing the freedom and liberty of property owners to see maximum return on and or their investment. This will curb investment, reduce utility and value of property, lower tax revenue and limit choice for consumers as development is reduced due to increased costs.
As James Madison noted, Property must be secured or liberty cannot exist.

Sunday Night Song: 1984
Nineteen Eighty-Four.
For a myriad of reasons, recently I have been thinking about George Orwell's 1984. With the re-election of President Barack Obama, as Victor Davis Hanson appropriately pointed out in a recent Investors Business Daily editorial piece, the "Beast Reagan Aimed To Starve Good To Gorge Under Obama." Sadly, right on target.
The recent death of famed economist James M. Buchanan, a leading scholar in "public choice" economic theory, reminded us of conclusions drawn, most accurately noted that those elected to government do not leave their ideology and self interests behind at the door. While in itself this is not necessarily a bad thing, it reminds that proper checks and balances are required from the citizenry as increased government interjection in the economy reduces freedom and liberty and is destined for failure.
A case study for that conclusion is examined in an excellent article the crossed my transom the other day regarding the significant decline of many large American cities. Michael Snyder, from The Economic Collapse blog is the author, details how cities such as Detroit, Oakland and Chicago have become infested with gangs, with increasing violence and lawlessness, and are deteriorating from within. Government in these cities, due to financial constraints caused by idiotic progressive policies of social justice, have been forced to reduce effort to combat the criminals.
Chicago is particularly noteworthy. The south side, where the greater majority of murders are taking place, is home to our President; Barack Obama. With MSNBC contemplating that his record as President should place him upon Mount Rushmore, it is mind boggling he could not, or would not, have accomplished anything with respect to reducing the despair and hopelessness of those in the area that leads to this type of destructive behavior.
For the failure in that regard that was Obama, now his former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is now mayor, and he has absolutely given up. Can he not do the job, or does he have an interest in not doing the job? It is the latter.
Those in power like to have chaos on the streets, which leads the ill-informed to think they are in need of help from anyone who can curtail the situation. By not enforcing laws and creating dependency among the less educated, the government creates an environment of hopelessness and dependency which leads to escalating crime resulting the community to cry out for help. When they do so, it is the government to the rescue, the same folks who created the problem. Oh, what job security.
In reflecting back to post war London in Orwell's 1984, wild dogs roamed the streets of a rundown city of crumbling buildings and deteriorating public services. As noted above, several major US cites are following this pattern, with dangerous, violent urban killing fields where many are robbed of their identity and are hopeless, resulting in increasing violence and civil unrest the government fails to adequately curtail, and this is not by accident.
Over at The Burning Platform blog, a series of articles have been undertaken interacting the works of George Orwell and Aldous Huxley with the ever increasing control of the government, combined with the brilliant work of British rock super group Pink Floyd. The blog posts, Hey You, and Mother Should I Trust The Government, are simply required reading.
While I do not agree with all the context presented, I find most of it right on target and it does give us much to decipher. Interacting Pink Floyd with the posts is very cool, and if you reflect back on Floyd's "The Wall", it is most appropriate.
Although all us makers are quite busy keeping all the takers afloat while the Obama administration executes their transformation of wealth plan, we must create the time in our lives to get informed and resist "inner party" as they continue to gain greater control over our lives. If not, before too long we may find ourselves on the dark side with no exits remaining for escape.
We don't need no thought control, but we do need education on how our freedoms and liberties are being reduced. On that lovely note, hoping they keep their hands of my stash, for Sunday Night Song, here is Roger Waters of Pink Floyd as he performed for the 12-12-12 Hurricane Sandy relief concert.

For all the fanfare leading up to title matchup over two traditional power, the game was over almost before it began. Alabama was able to push the Notre Dame front seven around and run the ball down the throat of the Fighting Irish, and that was the ball game. Bama won the line of scrimmage decisively on both sides, and Notre Dame could not generate anything measurable on offense.
Yes, the officials got in the way of the Irish early, but it would not matter, thankfully. This was a whipping, but this is not about a Notre Dame team that did not belong; this was about an Alabama team, that when focused and on game, are stout and the class of the college game.
Nick Saban and The Crimson Tide have won three of the last four titles, matching the run Nebraska had in the mid 90's. Credit the Tide, who have earned your respect. Sadly for the rest of us, stopping this runaway train anytime soon seems unlikely. Sweet Home Alabama!
Oh, by the way, ESPN's Brent Musburger, who made news a few years back sounding off on the beauty of the FSU Cowgirls, got into some hot water again last night as he went off on how hot Alabama quaterback AJ McCarron's girlfriend, former Miss Alabama and Auburn alum Katherine Webb is. In the aftermath, Miss Webb is becoming a household name, with her Twitter account growing exponentially in followers. I have to admit, Musburger is right on target regarding Miss Webb; she is absolutely stunning.

Duke fumbled twice inside the Cincinnati 5, and gave the game away.....Baylor is on a winning streak and jumped all over a decent UCLA team behind Nick Florence.....Va.Tech roared back and dunked Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando..... Minnesota played well, but could not stop Texas Tech....West Virginia, a major disappointment, were physically beaten by Syracuse in a snow storm Pin Stripe Bowl... Texas unleashed Alex Okafor, got some big plays and shocked Oregon State.....Michigan State got a late kick to beat TCU...Vanderbilt controlled NC State and is a sleeper for 2013.....USC failed to show up, as many expected, and got taken out by Georgia Tech as the preseason number one Trojans limped home failing to not only finish in the final AP Top 25, but even receive votes.....In the best bowl game, Clemson got LSU at the gun. Clemson coach Dabo Sweeney said the Tigers fought for every blade of grass out there, and he was nothing short of correct. It was hard fought, and this much needed win for Clemson could pay later dividends.....Okie State bombed outclassed Purdue....Northwestern beat SEC Miss. State and are better than most think...Wisconsin fought hard, but could not stand up to Stanford in the end....Florida failed to take Louisville seriously and paid the price, getting stung in New Orleans which will leave a lingering bad taste in the mouth of Gator nation....Oregon ran all over K-State and smothered KSU's Collin Klein...Johnny Football and A&M bombed Oklahoma in the Cotton, and one has to wonder what has become of once powerful OU under Bob Stoops.....Ole Miss is emerging and dumped Pittsburgh.
In the Outback Bowl in Tampa, South Carolina got by a Michigan team that came to play. In a play late in the game, in perhaps the worst example of poor officiating we have sadly been witnessing recently, the officials awarded Michigan a first down when everyone but the three blind mice could see the Wolverines were short. Take a look:
Many teams did not have the stomach to overcome a bad call late in a game, as witnessed after a Nebraska fumbled driving late in a tie ball game with Georgia over in Orlando. But do not include the Gamecocks and Jadeveon Clowney in that discussion, because when the zebras dealt them a body blow, the Cocks took it out on their opponent. In a truly outstanding individual play, take a look as South Carolina's Clowney take matters into his own hands.

Yes, the officials got in the way of the Irish early, but it would not matter, thankfully. This was a whipping, but this is not about a Notre Dame team that did not belong; this was about an Alabama team, that when focused and on game, are stout and the class of the college game.
Nick Saban and The Crimson Tide have won three of the last four titles, matching the run Nebraska had in the mid 90's. Credit the Tide, who have earned your respect. Sadly for the rest of us, stopping this runaway train anytime soon seems unlikely. Sweet Home Alabama!
Oh, by the way, ESPN's Brent Musburger, who made news a few years back sounding off on the beauty of the FSU Cowgirls, got into some hot water again last night as he went off on how hot Alabama quaterback AJ McCarron's girlfriend, former Miss Alabama and Auburn alum Katherine Webb is. In the aftermath, Miss Webb is becoming a household name, with her Twitter account growing exponentially in followers. I have to admit, Musburger is right on target regarding Miss Webb; she is absolutely stunning.
BOWLS
Duke fumbled twice inside the Cincinnati 5, and gave the game away.....Baylor is on a winning streak and jumped all over a decent UCLA team behind Nick Florence.....Va.Tech roared back and dunked Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando..... Minnesota played well, but could not stop Texas Tech....West Virginia, a major disappointment, were physically beaten by Syracuse in a snow storm Pin Stripe Bowl... Texas unleashed Alex Okafor, got some big plays and shocked Oregon State.....Michigan State got a late kick to beat TCU...Vanderbilt controlled NC State and is a sleeper for 2013.....USC failed to show up, as many expected, and got taken out by Georgia Tech as the preseason number one Trojans limped home failing to not only finish in the final AP Top 25, but even receive votes.....In the best bowl game, Clemson got LSU at the gun. Clemson coach Dabo Sweeney said the Tigers fought for every blade of grass out there, and he was nothing short of correct. It was hard fought, and this much needed win for Clemson could pay later dividends.....Okie State bombed outclassed Purdue....Northwestern beat SEC Miss. State and are better than most think...Wisconsin fought hard, but could not stand up to Stanford in the end....Florida failed to take Louisville seriously and paid the price, getting stung in New Orleans which will leave a lingering bad taste in the mouth of Gator nation....Oregon ran all over K-State and smothered KSU's Collin Klein...Johnny Football and A&M bombed Oklahoma in the Cotton, and one has to wonder what has become of once powerful OU under Bob Stoops.....Ole Miss is emerging and dumped Pittsburgh.
In the Outback Bowl in Tampa, South Carolina got by a Michigan team that came to play. In a play late in the game, in perhaps the worst example of poor officiating we have sadly been witnessing recently, the officials awarded Michigan a first down when everyone but the three blind mice could see the Wolverines were short. Take a look:
Many teams did not have the stomach to overcome a bad call late in a game, as witnessed after a Nebraska fumbled driving late in a tie ball game with Georgia over in Orlando. But do not include the Gamecocks and Jadeveon Clowney in that discussion, because when the zebras dealt them a body blow, the Cocks took it out on their opponent. In a truly outstanding individual play, take a look as South Carolina's Clowney take matters into his own hands.

Cliff Diving Propaganda
While the ball was dropping on Times Square New Years Eve, negotiations were well underway by our elected representatives to produce legislation to prohibit our nation from going over the "fiscal cliff".
Finally, at the very last moment, a deal was struck and the mainstream media outlets were quick to applaud the success and praise the leadership of President Obama, who interrupted his vacation to spearhead the effort. At the corner of Wall and Broad, when the capital markets opened, the bulls were running with high end investors drunk with easy money swallowing manipulated government data, such as the unemployment rate, inflation levels and the consumer price index (CPI).
With the media gushing over the newly crafted legislation which "saved" America from the fiscal cliff, the level of propaganda distorting the truth and creating a false reality engulfing the non critical thinking low information voters would leave Edward Bernays orgasmic.
We drove off the cliff sometime ago, and the pomp and circumstance associated with crafting legislation in DC is propaganda designed to praise false successes while concealing the economic realities most cannot comprehend.
While the progressives rejoice the deal as victory, it is actually a significant defeat for not only the GOP, but American prosperity. The deal consisted of more spending and higher levels of taxation for certain income levels while conspicuously stimulating others. This would sadly include NASCAR, a sport I strongly support and enjoy and an corporation I am a shareholder of (ISCA:NASDAQ).
This deal increases the deficit exponentially. While Obama pontificates about a "balanced" approach to curbing the debt, the deal was approximately 41/1 spending to cuts. Since we have a spending problem and not a revenue problem, contrary to the propaganda, the deal fails to address the looming catastrophe voters, and obviously many in DC, fail to recognize. Or do they?
As pathetic as it is, the government has aggravated the problem by increasing spending. Fixing the debt will come later they proclaim, but kicking the can down the road has significant costs.
In addition, as we assist in crumbling ourselves from within, our enemies foreign, and domestic, are planning and positioning to accelerate our demise.
Sadly, Paul Ryan (R:WI) voted yes, and saying he supported it to “get this issue behind us, … prevent this massive tax increase and … focus on spending now". This is most concerning. Ryan of all people should have a deep understanding who our opponent is. Recall Obama, in response to Ryan releasing a plan, invited Ryan to a speech only to scold and ridicule him Saul Alinsky style.
I recognize many in GOP are progressives, and are addicted to the spending as long as they get theirs, but I am stunned so many, most notably Ryan, found Obama had characteristics as an honest broker. Obama is a charlatan, an ideologue who governs outside of the reasonable rhetoric of his public persona and has already threatened to stranglehold the GOP with blame through media enhanced propaganda.
Now, after additional predicted failures, Speaker Boehner says he is "done negotiating with Obama". Really? Negotiations with parties that are dishonest are doomed to failure, and those "working" with Obama have been exposed as fools. Many claiming to oppose Obama, in the end, are progressives and that is why so few are willing to really step up the fight.
Even after all his failed leadership, Boehner was re-elected Speaker with little opposition. Boehner, no friend of the Tea Party, should have been vigorously challenged. Until the GOP stands up to fight, Obama will continue to destroy this nation through his implementation of social justice running roughshod over his political opponents who he carries significant disdain for.
Uncle Sam is broke, and cannot pay his debts. The country is, and has been, in recession, although the government propaganda informs us otherwise. The economy is about to really bog down and not withstanding governmental intervention, economic realities are continuing to flood the marketplace.
Reasonable efforts to kick start and grow the economy have not been presented, and the reasons are clear for those willing to look. The Obama administration is actively seeking the collapse of the economy, as we have pointed out repeatedly, noting the Cloward and Piven theory. They abhor the current system, and aim to remold a new system structure after the collapse. The new system presents significant limits on freedom and liberty, confining economic prowess and thus handicapping those aiming to better their lives through financial growth and independence.
The American public is being lied to in significant and alarming fashion, and without an increased level of involvement by the electorate, dishonest and evil people are stealing your money and freedom.
Make every effort to separate yourself from the propaganda you are hit with on a daily basis. Find and utilize alternative sources for information, and do your own homework. Increasing governmental power over the people, from entitlements to government run health care, reduces freedom and enhances dependency.
Founding principles must be adhered to, as free market capitalism remains the best path to prosperity. Saving our freedom will depend on your participation, sooner or later.

Huskies Harnessed

Northern Illinois did deserve to be there due to the criteria previously set forth, but there were at least a dozen teams clearly superior to the Huskies which could have been in Miami. As such, that left the Seminoles in a lose lose situation.
Crush UNI, and of course they did not deserve to be in the game. Win a tight one, and UNI is considered a fair team and Florida State is the one who is questioned. God forbid the Seminoles, unfortunately known for playing down to the level of inferior opponents, snatches defeat from victory.
Husky signal caller Jordan Lynch, a dynamic player who had offensive yardage totals which garnered him Heisman Trophy and All America consideration, mouthed off prior to the game that "We plan on wearing them down. In the fourth quarter, we plan to have them on their knees, and then just keep pounding away." Lynch said. "They're just like us. They're human, too. If you cut them, they bleed."
The comments appeared to motivate the Seminoles, who smothered the Husky offense early and often. FSU defenders dominated the line of scrimmage and were swarming to the ball.
On offense, FSU was accumulating furlongs of real estate without much to show for it, which is par for the course. The Seminoles offensively resemble Jimmie Johnson wheeling his #48 Lowes Chevy around a parking garage, as top level talent seems to get hardly anywhere.
Then came versatile running back Lonnie Pryor, a favorite of Seminole Nation, who busted loose for 60 yards and a touchdown. EJ Manuel controlled the game, connecting on short throws the UNI defense was giving. Manuel hit Rashad Greene right before the half for a score, and the 'Noles were in control.

While FSU left a lot of opportunities on the field, the Seminoles got the win, and the importance of this win, the first BCS win since 2000, cannot be understated. As Coach Fisher said, this is a big step in the process of building a team who expects to win championships, both conference and national. The Seminoles won 12 games, and the contributions of this senior class should be properly recognized.
EJ Manuel, who is far from the best FSU signal caller to hit the gridiron, has won four bowl games in a row and displayed outstanding leadership during his career, on and off the field. With talent few have, perhaps he can improve and sharpen his game, which may actually be better suited for the next level. We wish him the best of luck!
Florida State is primed for additional accomplishments in 2013. The Seminoles must replace Manuel and Xavier Rhodes, who is off the NFL. Bjoern Werner may jump also, but even still, FSU is loaded for bear and should be preseason top ten and then some.
Runzaway Victory
The Nebraska Cornhuskers, reeling from getting nothing short of embarrassed in the Big Ten Championship game by Wisconsin, were selected to make a return trip to beautiful downtown Orlando to face the highly ranked Georgia Bulldogs in the Capital One Bowl.
Would Nebraska limp down and absorb another beating at the hands of Georgia, who was four yards away from facing Notre Dame in the BCS Championship?
In watching the practices, the Big Red seemed to embrace the challenge. Kenny Bell and Taylor Martinez, although enjoying the trip, were very focused come practice time.
All the fanfare associated with the game was well attended by the fans, including a pep rally.
After a shaky start, which included a blocked punt for a safety and a touchdown pass leading Nebraska to fall behind 9-0, the Big Red seemed to be ready to win the game. The 'Huskers led 24-23 at the half as Taylor Martinez and Rex Burkhead kept the Junkyard Dawgs off balance.
Nebraska stormed out of the half to build upon the lead 31-23 and were poised for more when Ameer Abdullah fumbled the ball away after securing a short yardage first down at the Georgia 39. From the vantage point of the stands and the Husker sideline, it appeared Abdullah was down, and if he was not, Nebraska recovered the ball. The play was not reviewed, and Georgia got the ball.
From that point on, Georgia and quarterback Aaron Murray, from nearby Tampa Plant, made plays when it counted coming from behind to beat Nebraska 45-31.
There was some kind of officiating going on out there by the crew from the Big XII (really?), absent consistency and collectively perhaps the worst I have seen. From seeing highlights of other games on the day, the Capital One Bowl was not alone in poor officiating.

Unlike last year, with Nebraska ahead as quarter four began, the Big Red could have won the game. Georgia is every bit as good as advertised, and in the end, took control with their superior talent stepping up and making plays.
Nebraska, as usual, had plenty of offense to win the game. The Big Red is hard to defend with a strong running attack, a fleet footed quarterback who is much better than most everyone give him credit for and a group of receivers who are quite good. Even the much maligned offensive line performed well.
It is on the stop side where the problems for Nebraska begin and end. This is the strong suit of NU Head Coach Bo Pelini; therefore, the lack of execution by this unit cannot be further tolerated. In the 2012 losses, the highly touted Blackshirts gave up zip codes of yardage and pinball machine points. In fact, in each of the losses, Nebraska put up over 30 points, and when you do that, you fully expect to win.
I happen to like the defensive staff, and maybe it is a lack of talent that is the main issue. The secondary has been strong most of the year, but they looked awful against Aaron Murray, no RGII to be sure. With players playing out of position, the defensive line played better than I anticipated.
As the Omaha World Herald points out, there is some sunshine peeking out of the clouds, and 4 loss seasons getting punked in bowl games against I don't care who are dark clouds. The 2013 offense could be special behind Martinez and the schedule is very forgiving. If Pelini can get a handle on the defense, and his history says he can, Nebraska may have a Rosey season.
If not, with Tom Osborne having retired, some real hard questions will demand answers, not time. I am hopeful those questions will not need to be asked.

In The Blessing of His Words
Our nation is one week removed from the unspeakable tragedies which took place in the lovely community of Newtown, Connecticut, just north of Long Island Sound. Along with a conflicted Mother and five our heroes, twenty little student angels we lost, and the pain continues to be felt across our fruited plain. On this day, the final victims of the massacre will be laid to rest.
In Washington, the effort to utilize this tragedy to attack the Second Amendment, a longtime opponent of the left, began almost immediately. Progressives in New York could not allow time for grieving before implementing political action. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, flanked by armed security, called for President Obama to go after the guns and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, an aspiring dictator, announced he will outline a gun proposal, where in contrast to the Constitution, "confiscation could be an option."
One would have hoped our elected officials would seek answers to the issues surrounding this type of violence by engaging in a comprehensive examination of the multitude of issues which may or may not be at play. No such luck.
The National Rifle Association, of which I am not a member, held a news conference on Friday to in large measure defend themselves from the onslaught of vicious and ignorant attacks they have been hit with. NRA President Wayne LaPierre spoke candidly, and sensibly, calling for much higher security at perhaps the most important places in America; our schools.
Since the NRA, and the Second Amendment, are targets of the left, all the reasonable comments and ideas put forth by Lapierre was met with skepticism at best by most of Washington, and mocked by the media elite.
If we were engaged in a conversation about what issues lead people to plan and perpetrate these senseless attacks, one topic would be how God has been pushed out of our public discourse, and in particular, the schools. Becky Kowalski, whose adorable son Chase was killerd in the massacre, has set up The Chase Kowalski Scholarship Fund to among other things, advocate to "bring God back to America."
With the assault, pun intended, on The Second Amendment on the fast track, we must step aside and recognize that government is not the solution to our problems; in many ways, government is the problem. With the assistance of a complicit media, they continue to use areas of crisis to gain political ground in promotion of ideas limiting freedom and increasing of government control.
A poem written by Darrell Scott, whose lovely daughter Rachel was killed at Columbine in 1999, which he presented to a House Committee, rings loud and true today.
Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed.

The memory of Rachel Joy Scott lives on through Rachel's Challenge, a foundation that among other things, creates safer learning environments and does outstanding work.
We will not find the answers we seek in Washington. We must look amongst ourselves, and there is hope. In fact, a message of hope was presented last Sunday by Dr. David Swanson of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Please take a listen:

Amongst a national tragedy, America seeks answers and help in understanding how we overcome this darkness. Help has come, as Our Savior is born. Evil Transcends Weaponry
On Friday, our nation was kicked in the gut by an unspeakable tragedy; a homegrown terrorist assault on our most prized representatives of the hope and promise of our United States; our beloved children.
Twenty little angels were lost, and their families are deveastated and forever altered.
As my brother correctly stated on Friday evening, this attack on these innocent and helpless children carries a greater emotional pain for our citizens than the horrific events of September 11, 2001. To imagine the Christmas gifts that will not be opened is beyond heartbreaking.
As a Dad, and a proud American, I know my family joins millions around the world in praying for comfort for those who were directly affected by this unspeakable attack. A true act of evil.
Newtown looks like such a lovely place, and in the aftermath of the tragedy we learn of the heroic efforts of the staff at the school in their attempts to protect those little angels of students. The brave first responders also demonstrated an incredible level of professionalism. God Bless You All!
One thing I am quite clear on is that President Obama loves his two beautiful daughters, and he feels the pain of this tragedy like most all parents. It was an act of faith in many ways for parents across America to send our kids off to school this morning. "We can't tolerate this anymore," Obama said. Rarely am I in agreement with President Obama, but I concur that carnage of our citizens at soft targets around the country strongly suggests that America has some questions to answer.
Obama excels as Consoler and Chief, and his opening and closing comments at the service in Newtown last evening were surely heartfelt and meaningful as our nation weeps.
However, in the middle of the speech Obama went on offense conveying how he will use the power of his office to regulate change, and I find it concerning. Will his effort bring out the post partisan leadership many who supported him have longed for, or will he utilize a crisis to obtain political victories only possible during times of tragedy.
While Obama engages America in welcomed rhetoric standing above, for the most part, engaging in the politics of this tragedy, his surrogates are on high octane offense.
Former Obama COS Rahm Emanuel has called for a nationwide assault weapons ban, he of the "never let a crisis go to waste" gameplan. Over at CNN, Soledad Obrien, who can hardly contain her emotional support of Obama, has urged Obama to track people and firearms. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who literally wants to govern your life, has called for an enforceable assault weapons ban. Over at MSNBC, Joe Scarborough, who claims to be the "resident" conservative, said Friday changed everything and has reversed course in the aftermath of the events and has changed his long held position on gun laws.
I am not a gun owner, although I have been considering taking the initial steps of becoming one. It is my right as an American. But taking in these comments, I can only conclude the left is obviously going after the guns; and those who own them, period. Sadly, as the administration has changed the conversation by muddling the definitions of so many words, we must adequately define what would be considered an "assault" weapon prior to having an honest dialogue.
Perhaps some styles of military style weapons and "cop killer" ammunition are not reasonable for the citizens to own. However, if this were to be recognized in a common sense debate would it be met as moving the Overton Window and taken as a step in winning political positions for the Democrats? I suspect so, therefore any willingness to give any ground on the issue exhibiting common sense will not be given.
I am hopeful President Obama will step back and examine the entirety of these complex issues, which contrary to his surrogates calling for immediate action in strengthening gun control, is about far more than attacking the Second Amendment. After a touching speech after Representative Gabrielle Giffords was shot, Obama failed miserably to corral the divisive rhetoric he found inappropriate In fact, Obama stoked the fire on numerous occasions. Often, the rhetoric of Obama offers optimism, but pessimism underlay his actions.
However, I am skeptical he will do so, as I do not find President Obama and his surrogates as honest brokers. Just last week, actor Jamie Foxx, a big Obama supporter and friend, spoke of gleefully "killing all the white people" in his new movie. About that rhetoric Mr. President?
While I am not a fan of commissions, a recommendation I heard last night to perhaps have retiring Senator Joe Lieberman (I:CT) to lead such an investigation seems to hold merit. Many aspects need to be reviewed, inclusive of but not limited to mental illness, youngsters who place zero value on life, political correctness limiting God in our public discourse, child abuse, Hollywood and video games, which desensitize killing.
However, we must note that the individual who committed the crime is responsible for his actions, and those of us law abiding citizens should not be punished with a loss of liberty due to his reprehensible actions.
Freedom is not without high costs; however, if we are unable to adequately protect our children, we must examine the factors at play which prohibit that from happening and promptly address them.
President Obama has an opportunity here to lead in a meaningful way as our President. Should Obama join his surrogates already in effort to seize the day in attacking the Second Amendment
implemented so our citizenry may be armed to thwart an oppressive and tyrannical government, I will join those is stiff opposition.
The Obama administration is among the most power grabbing administrations in history, closely resembling in many ways the FDR years in moving the Overton Window from liberty towards tyranny. Evidence does not suggest they have a deep concern for constitutional rights, as Obama has proclaimed it an imperfect document.
Perhaps it would be wise to, once again, receive guidance during these times from Ronald Reagan:
Evil is always opportunistic, no matter what weapon. However, the power of God will rule the day. Our hearts bleed for those affected in Newtown, but evil will ultimately be defeated. We must all do our part to make it so.
We will continue to mourn with those in Newtown, and will forever remember those God has called home much too early. God Bless those little angels lost, the brave school administrators who lost their lives, extended families and friends, the fine folks of Newtown and the United States of America.

Fire Breathes Out of Overton Window
Word on the street is that one of the conservative Supreme Court Judges is considering retirement.
Now, as a conservative, thinking of my country, my fellow man and my children and grandchildren, under zero circumstance would I consider retirement with the current administration in office if I had the honor of being a member of The Supreme Court.
Are you familiar with the Overton Window theory? If not, please immediately familiarize yourself with the theory, as it will be a central tenant surrounding most if not all forthcoming actions by the Obama administration. The theory was highlighted in a recent editorial in The Wall Street Journal when the Chick-fil-a debate uproar was on the front pages.
With the media in criminally complicit concert with the current administration, alternative blog sites have become central to obtaining vital information. Among the top notch blogs I monitor is The Ulsterman Report . A unique and riveting highlight of the site has been an ongoing conversation between the host, Ulsterman, and secret operatives known as The White House Insider, The Military Insider and The Wall Street Insider.
At first review, I thought this may have been fiction, but as time went along I drew the conclusion the intriguing dialogues were very real; with topics and information alarming and dangerous. Information discussed in the interviews frequently became mainstream news weeks later.
In the aftermath of the election, Ulsterman has been introduced to an operative given the moniker of Republican Insider. The conversations remain must reads for Americans seeking the truth.
In the latest conversation with RI, The Ulsterman Report reports that Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to President Obama, has indicated The White House intends to nominate an openly gay individual for appointment to the Supreme Court. RI reports operatives "are testing these waters". Therefore, it is concluded Jarrett and staff are aiming to implement the Overton Window; having the president propose something far outside the majority of the American people only to retreat to an area they regard as a winning position.
The potential appointment of an openly homosexual individual is certain to create a fiery debate. The GOP will be weak as usual, not wanting to potentially alienate any potential supporters. Citizens will be pitted against one another in another chapter of class warfare, and the debate will expand beyond the appointment to gay marriage, which was profound religious effect, to racism and minority rights which could lead to civil unrest. A perfect mess of chaos, which the administration objective.
However, as indicated by RI, while Americans engage in the "Trojan Horse" gay debate and the GOP defends false accusations of being the party of hate, the aforementioned Overton Window position is that administration seeks is to nominate the most radical supreme court justice in the history of the United States.
The administration does not care about the homosexual community in any way other than to use them as a vehicle to promote individuals who share the radical ideas of the administration in their effort to transform the United States of America; moulding it to their hearts desire.
Although the similarities are substantial, this aspirations of this administration far exceed the socialist objectives of Franklin Roosevelt and America is in deep peril. To whomever the Justice is supposedly considering retirement, for the love of God and Man, that decision must be postponed as long as this administration, or those with similar objectives, are in charge.
Freedom may depend on it.

Middle East Web of Weaponry
At this moment, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta says signs point to Syria using weapons of mass destruction, in this case chemical weapons, on their own people. The uprising in Syria, in large measure, has been regrettably aided by The United States in levels extending beyond appeasement.

Starting with speeches around the world proclaiming the transgressions of America, President Obama set out to right these perceived wrongs. As part of this effort, Obama implemented uprisings in the middle east, toppling enemies we knew for those unknown, as least by most. Although Obama spoke publicly about the enhanced chances for democracy and freedom, Obama privately knew those positioned to fill the vacuum, the Muslim Brotherhood, would advocate, or install by force, Shari-ah Law, as is currently the case in Egypt.
But let us regress. Although Syria has a weapons program, are the majority of the weapons of mass destruction currently possessed by Syria the same weapons we never found in Iraq?
Indeed they are.
No longer politically expedient to admonish George W. Bush for going to war with Iraq on false assumptions of the existence of these weapons, it should come as no surprise that stories shining light on the weapons transfer from Iraq to Syria are emerging in frequency. While many reports are discussing recently discovered pathways of weapon movement from Iraq to Syria, hidden behind the discussion is the transfer during the postponement of the invasion of Iraq that France President Jacque Chirac, a dishonest broker who worked against US interests, bought.
The second to none editorial page of Investors Business Daily leads the way as usual in presenting and detailing the truth. IBD, in an editorial yesterday, continues to present the facts even if few Americans are willing to absorb it.
Although I remain incensed regarding the antics used by the opponents of President Bush, most notably regarding the propaganda regrading the weapons, the discussion pales in comparison to what is happening now.
Benghazi, who most Americans think is some folk singer, should have been a story that would detonate and destroy the Obama administration. There was supposed to be a presser by a handful of Republicans, however, these GOP members snatched defeat from the jaws of victory as they did not want to seem as playing politics and not caring for the victims as super storm Sandy slapped the northeast.
However, the events in Benghazi supersede politics. Four Americans, including our Ambassador to Egypt and two NAVY Seals, were murdered. The Ambassador, and the Seals, requested help on various occasions but were turned down. Although many have called out Obama on this horrendous act of war against the Untied States, perhaps the commentary by Jeanine Piro on FOX News Channel hit him the hardest, and appropriately so.
As previously noted on the blog, Ambassador Stevens, who inexplicably was meeting with a Turkish contact in a dangerous area outside of our embassy, is thought to have been working to secure weapons. The weapons Stephens is thought to have been attempting to corral are weapons the United States, under Obama, had been supplying rebels in Egypt and Libya.
Recent reports, including from The New York Times, give confirmation of the central theme of the story, which is gun running by the Obama administration. Although not an optimal source, some strong information on this subject can be found over at blog site Lame Cherry. Regrettably, these weapons have gotten loose and have fallen into hands of those who aim America harm. Imagine that.
Although the issues surrounding Benghazi, in which a US Ambassador was murdered for the first time in over 30 years and an administration appears to be running guns seemingly without Congressional approval, seems to be a story which would dwarf Watergate, apparently no journalists are interested in winning a Pulitzer Prize.
On the heels of winning the election, the Obama administration is embolden by a new found sense of arrogance. With a complicit media in their hip pocket, why should they worry? What could happen with some weapons, perhaps some of mass destruction, loose in the hands of Al-Queda, Hamas or other groups or countries who wish us harm?
Well, take a listen to Dennis Kucinich (D:OH), of all people, who is asking some very alarming questions and not getting any answers:
This was a debate needed at the time in 2011, and one critically needed right now. Kucinich rhetorically asked who should be held accountable, and the answer is President Obama.
Unfortunately, the media is criminally negligent in coverage of the Obama administration. The Democrats are in support of the actions of Obama, as are the Progressives in both parties, who have been working toward reducing the superpower status of the US for quite some time. The GOP members in strong opposition are few in numbers and fearful of being labeled an extremist. See Rep. Allen West, (R:FL).
It is far time for someone to step forward, and take on those in power.
This type of thing used to be a big deal, for I recall missing General Hospital for days on end while a Congressional panel hammered Col. Oliver North. However, while America wonders who is on the next Dancing With The Stars cast and enjoying the ever expanding entitlements coming their way, lies are being presented as truth, unrecognizable to the "low information voters" who re-elected Obama.
I hope and pray America, and the media, wake up before a catastrophic tragedy occurs. While the likelihood of such en event favors a financial issue, that may be welcomed against the possibility of a weapon of mass destruction altering life in America forever.
Should such an event occur, while Kucinich wonders whose fault it would be, I would have no doubt who to hold to accountability.

As previously noted on the blog, Ambassador Stevens, who inexplicably was meeting with a Turkish contact in a dangerous area outside of our embassy, is thought to have been working to secure weapons. The weapons Stephens is thought to have been attempting to corral are weapons the United States, under Obama, had been supplying rebels in Egypt and Libya.
Recent reports, including from The New York Times, give confirmation of the central theme of the story, which is gun running by the Obama administration. Although not an optimal source, some strong information on this subject can be found over at blog site Lame Cherry. Regrettably, these weapons have gotten loose and have fallen into hands of those who aim America harm. Imagine that.
Although the issues surrounding Benghazi, in which a US Ambassador was murdered for the first time in over 30 years and an administration appears to be running guns seemingly without Congressional approval, seems to be a story which would dwarf Watergate, apparently no journalists are interested in winning a Pulitzer Prize.
On the heels of winning the election, the Obama administration is embolden by a new found sense of arrogance. With a complicit media in their hip pocket, why should they worry? What could happen with some weapons, perhaps some of mass destruction, loose in the hands of Al-Queda, Hamas or other groups or countries who wish us harm?
Well, take a listen to Dennis Kucinich (D:OH), of all people, who is asking some very alarming questions and not getting any answers:
This was a debate needed at the time in 2011, and one critically needed right now. Kucinich rhetorically asked who should be held accountable, and the answer is President Obama.
Unfortunately, the media is criminally negligent in coverage of the Obama administration. The Democrats are in support of the actions of Obama, as are the Progressives in both parties, who have been working toward reducing the superpower status of the US for quite some time. The GOP members in strong opposition are few in numbers and fearful of being labeled an extremist. See Rep. Allen West, (R:FL).
It is far time for someone to step forward, and take on those in power.
This type of thing used to be a big deal, for I recall missing General Hospital for days on end while a Congressional panel hammered Col. Oliver North. However, while America wonders who is on the next Dancing With The Stars cast and enjoying the ever expanding entitlements coming their way, lies are being presented as truth, unrecognizable to the "low information voters" who re-elected Obama.
I hope and pray America, and the media, wake up before a catastrophic tragedy occurs. While the likelihood of such en event favors a financial issue, that may be welcomed against the possibility of a weapon of mass destruction altering life in America forever.
Should such an event occur, while Kucinich wonders whose fault it would be, I would have no doubt who to hold to accountability.

Sovereignty Under Attack
There has been an alarming amount of proposed treaties with the United Nations the United States has been considering recently, and although right out of the progressives playbook, they are significantly detrimental to our sovereignty.
With Glenn Beck's Agenda 21 hot off the presses, word comes of yet another stealth treaty with very troublesome undertones. Time constraints prohibit thorough analysis at this time, but as usual, Beck gives you an overview of what is afoot with the U.N. Treaty: Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

No Participation In System Crash
The top story in the political arena this week is commonly referred to as the fiscal cliff; a collection of negative economic realities encroaching upon America that time cannot stop.
While these realities are incredibly harsh, the issues are sadly, but not unexpectedly, being used as political fisticuffs. You see, progressives on both sides are arguing about where the money should be spent, rather than responding with fiduciary responsibility in an effort to prohibit Uncle Sam from suffering catastrophic financial injury.
Most of America thinks our elected officials are working diligently in an effort to curb the affects of the approaching storm, enacting policy changes to mitigate the damage and prohibit future economic disasters. Outside of a handful of conservatives, they are sadly mistaken.
Our old friend Larry Kudlow suggests President Obama does not want to see America regress into another recession. We rarely part company with Kudlow, but since the president has been eagerly implementing policies that punish success while creating a culture of dependency, Obama not only does not care about a second recession during his watch, he is actively enabling it.
In fact, the Democrats, giddy over the election results, are seeking political gain at the expense of the American public. Any and every opportunity to spend more money in effort to collapse the system into a new socialistic structure is being pursued, and scapegoats in the form of non compliant Republicans are being targeted.
On cue from the Obama administration, the media has once again brought Americans For Tax Reform President Grover Norquist forward as the boogie man, creating a straw man argument. We thoroughly covered the shenanigans in the targeting of Norquist back in June of 2011. Norquist gathered signatures of most of the elected republicans to pledge to not raise taxes under any circumstances.
Norquist is under fire, and is not taking the attacks lying down. Sadly, some republicans have announced they will break their pledge, hoping to save their political future. From my perspective, republicans who raise my taxes have no political future.
Contrary to the media, the fiscal cliff is not about Norquist. Without question, President Bush spent way too much money, but Obama, with control of the House of Representatives and the Senate, ran up the tab exponentially with little to zero return on or of investment. By design.
Obama has a mindset that America stole from other countries to accumulate its wealth, and that wrong must be righted with the vehicle for correction being the transfer of wealth. Domestically, Obama holds the same "you didn't build that" philosophy and aims to transfer wealth from those who have it those who do not.
Don't look now, but Obama and his progressive cohorts have been quite effective thus far. Although Dodd-Frank was quite significant, Obamacare is the central legislative act for wealth transformation.
Given our amount of debt, we are already over the fiscal cliff and arguments to the contrary are mind games. In fact, without government intervention, we are and have been in recession.
The course of action for republicans, and America, is to call Obama on the table. After Uncle Sam has run up to the max limit every credit card in sight, rather than continue to allow the government to steal our money, they need to walk back all their negative return investments and excessive entitlements. The GOP should not be party to joining in any balanced objectives, otherwise known as tax increases.
Unfortunately, Obama and the progressives do not share the same objectives sound economic thinkers possess. Under their direction, we will be driven to bankruptcy as our system collapses into a socialistic big government nanny state with controlling mechanisms keeping the citizenry under thumb; robbed of incentive, dignity and hope.
Free market capitalism remains the best path to prosperity, inclusive of limited government.
