Although Cal has been a decent team at home, it was quite a close one for Oregon, who scored only one offensive touchdown in winning 15-13.....Auburn, with all the distractions surrounding Heisman front runner Cam Newton, pulled away from improving Georgia on the plains.....Texas is in meltdown, and likely will not make a bowl game, which is simply mind boggling, particularly when remembering they handed Nebraska their only loss, at Lincoln....Florida is also reeling after getting pounded by favorite Son Spurrier in Gainesville and could finish .500 on the year, which is also quite surprising....Alabama spanked Miss State....Wisconsin poured 83 on Indiana, flexing some muscle...USC nipped Arizona, netting a big win...Iowa is again a major disappointment and lost at Northwestern, who is better than most think...While it has been a poor season for Georgia, it has not been all that great for Ga. Tech either....Needing any and all style points, TCU struggled, as did Nebraska, again...Alabama looms quite large for Auburn and kudos to South Carolina in making their first SEC Title game. Will Oklahoma State follow suite and make first Big XII Title game?
After two weeks of losing on the last play, seemingly by the luck of the draw, Florida State wins one with emphasis with Dustin Hopkins redemptive field goal:
