A Little Bit of Freedom Relinquished is a Lot

Tumblr CEO David Karp joined the gang on CNBC's Squawk Box on Tuesday morning for a discussion on Net Neutrality.  It was an eye opening interview to be sure.  Take a listen:

Karp is nothing short of a moron, and it is mind boggling he has obtained the level of success he has.  What he knows about economics and freedom you could put in a thimble. Even though Andrew Ross Sorkin made valiant effort to bail out Karp, he firmly established himself as ill-equipped for such discussion.

I can assure you, as both Becky Quick and Joe Kernen pointed out, that companies are not going to spend money when they are assured of no return on investment, unless as Karp pontificated, we are in "new world" of socialism and "deals" with no return on investment leading promptly to bankruptcy.

In addition, Karp, no doubt inadvertently, noted how a "blessed a handful of partners" (crony capitalism) will do deals to present the next emerging platform.  Without a return on investment, perhaps Karp envisions the taxpayers funding these operations.

Meanwhile, Glenn Beck spoke with somebody, who even as an Obama supporter, understands the subject and the potential future role the legislation will play in the marketplace in Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.  Take a listen to the bleak picture Cuban foresees:

Although the particulars of the regulation are being hidden from the American people, who will have to learn about the horrors of it after it is passed, Net Neutrality is being shopped as regulating the allowance of everyone to get full bandwidth at even costs, fixing a problem that is not currently broken.

Net Neutrality, while allowing the government regulatory oversight it currently does not have and a taxation mechanism for a starving beast in the federal government, is actually a hidden vehicle to silence political opponents. With Net Neutrality, economic control by government will expand and freedom will retract, and a widespread assault on freedom of speech, something once upon a time we fought to the death to preserve, will commence.

NOTE: In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a longtime shareholder of both AT&T (T:NYSE) and Level 3 Communications (LVLT:NASDAQ).

Assault of Freedom of Speech in Net Neutrality

If you thought Obamacare was a fraud perpetrated against the American people, wait until you come to grips with Obama's effort to take over the Internet.  Titled Net Neutrality, as reported in The Wall Street Journal, Obamanet promises to fix an Internet that isn’t broken.

As Ronald Reagan so eloquently pointed out, government does not solve problems, it subsidizes them.

So, why would the government aspire to takeover huge industries? To fundamentally transform The United States of America?

Certainly, there is the taxation angle which, for a government too big to stop feeding itself, would increase revenue.

However, the costs would be a drag on economic growth, which has been most elusive under the tyrannical Obama administration.  Recall from your economic study that the more you tax something, the less of it you get, and that is a limitation on consumer choice.  You pick and choose your utility company, right?

Then, of course, there is the regulatory angle, where the government seizes control over the industry, arbitrarily deciding, for the good of the people, which crony capitalism "partner" best deserves to control information.

Paraphrasing Reagan once again, when the government gets involved, it won't be the system malfunctioning but somebody mishandling the machinery, seemingly by design.

If you were progressive Democrats, regulation and taxation seem to be an adequate reasoning for embarking on such an endeavor.  But, this group is not your parents Democrats, and from listening to Obama representatives speak in their own words, I fear, like Obamacare, we are not being told the real plan at work here.

Introduce yourself to Mark Lloyd, who we have discussed here on the blog previously.  The former Diversity Czar under Obama, Lloyd speaks lovingly about how a similar takeover of the free press in Venezuela hastened the "glorious revolution" which gave Hugo Chavez smothering power over his political enemies.  For the record, Venezuela is now in economic shambles, and freedom is scarce.

Simply put, the Obama administration claiming they need to gain control over the Internet to fix non-existent issues which would if needed be more efficiently dealt with in the private sector world of competition is nothing more than a vehicle to encroach upon your freedom of speech, taxing and regulating free market commerce while silencing political enemies.

We do not need Net Neutrality, and the Obama administration, in particular, has soundly demonstrated they cannot be trusted with such responsibility.  Channeling the freedom loving mind of Reagan once more, what we need to do in this country is to alter the economic situation by changing one simple two letter word economic control by government to economic control of government.

Our founding fathers spoke of limited government, and expansive government control was something they wrote and warned vehemently against. The government has taken control over finance, energy and health, each of which are far worse off since governmental infiltration, has taken aim at the right to bear arms and now is in direct assault on communications.

We are rapidly losing the freedoms most claim to hold dear in this country, and America had better wake up quick. If this battle is lost, a tyrannical government limiting, not only your freedom of speech, but your overall freedom, will gain a most significant foothold, one which will likely never be able to be regained.

Tiny Travelers of Both Time and Space

You talk about music education!

As reported by DailyDot.com, the Louisville Leopard Percussionists were virtually without peers!

These young students perform three Led Zeppelin tunes on vibraphones; a mind boggling exhibition you simply have to hear.

The performance drew cheers from none other than famed Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page on his Facebook page; deservedly so.

This music class, yet to be affected by the governmental constraints of Common Core, is no doubt led by a teacher engulfed with innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and a can do attitude, which as you can see at the end of the performance, translated beautifully to the performing children.

Put simply, this was masterful, and I was beyond impressed.

A future as wide as the ocean no doubt awaits these tiny travelers of both time and space. God Speed!

Deep Freeze

Once again, the nation finds itself in a deep freeze.

Just this past year, the Buffalo Bills had to move a game from the friendly confines of Orchard Park, NY to Detroit due to a massive snowstorm that left Ralph D. Wislon stadium unable to host a game. Boston has had reached a historical record in snowfall this year as well.  It was just a few years back NASCAR had to cancel qualifying at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway was snowed under this past week.

No doubt, it will be brutal tomorrow night at the High Banks at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona Duel 150's.

Although the media continues to hammer the public about the horrors of man made global warming, or as they now phrase it, global climate change, even as the nation freezes to death, much of the public remain convinced there is merit to these claims.  In short, they do not believe their own thermometers.

Michael Raimrez/Investors Business Daily

We have long said that Global Warming, or Global Climate Change, is among the greatest hoaxes of all time, a vehicle of the transfer of wealth.  Investors Business Daily editorialized about the re-branding, designed to mask the truth, which seems frosted upon everyone's hair tonight.

When we look for top notch weather data and forecasting, we turn to Joe Bastardi, Chief Forecaster at WeatherBell Analytics.  In a piece over at The Heartland Institute, Bastardi combats some of the propaganda presented in the media.

As global climate change summit's continue to be cancelled due to snowstorms and with the nation in yet another deep freeze, even if you have been brainwashed to believe the global warming alarmists, your freezing body is presenting you the truth.

As we have noted previously, it is important to note that global warming, or the newly defined global climate change, is not about weather.  These people have no idea if it is going to rain next Tuesday in their own back yard.  It is about governmental control, the transfer of wealth, and limitations on real property, restricting property rights under the global premise of social justice.

As the brilliant Michael Ramirez so eloquently stated, it is the truth that is the endangered species in the global climate change "lack" of debate.  The science is settled tonight, with a low of 27 degrees expected here tonight in Orlando.

Playing For The Other Team

In the wake of our post yesterday concluding President Obama, our Commander in Sleestak, is an enemy within, comes this editorial cartoon arriving at the same finding.

Who's side is President Obama on?
On the bright side, if there is one, this editorial cartoon indicates that there are others who draw the same conclusion I arrived at quite some time ago.

It is imperative others come to this realization before freedom is lost and America as we have known her ceases to exist.

As Ronald Reagan so eloquently said, "if we lose freedom here there's no place to escape to; this is the last stand on earth."

Enemies Within

If it were not so deadly serious, it would be comical to witness the Obama administration stumbling around calling the Radical Islamic terrorists anything but what they are, murderous thugs who seek to kill every infidel Christian in the world while perverting religion for worldwide conquest.  But as heads continue to be chopped off, it is not those terrorists Obama is hell bent on stopping.  It is his political opponents, as Investors Business Daily's Michael Ramirez so brilliantly pointed out, the GOP and especially those who consider themselves Tea Party members.

Michael Ramirez/IBD

World War II was won in approximately five years, yet we have entered our fifteenth year of fighting these Radical Islamic terrorists.  George W. Bush seemed handicapped in doing so by making effort to appease the slew of moderates, along with the entire left wing, who grew tired of combat after being bombarded with propaganda from the mainstream media. Rules of engagement increased the degree of difficulty for our soldiers in the fight, and after we achieved victory, an election squandered it all.

A war weary electorate voted in President Obama, who proclaimed he would end both of the "ill-advised" wars the US was involved in, slamming Bush at every opportunity. Notice Obama said "end" the wars; he did not utter a word about winning, or victory.  But why?

Obama does not want to defeat these folks; in fact, he is on their team. Obama wrote in his book Audacity of Hope that “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction". Come again?

For those who do not really know who Obama is, this comes off as some sort of taken out of context comment.  But it is far from it.  Throughout his terms in office, Obama has been cold to our longtime allies and has had en empathetic tone engaging in bridge building with our enemies, who hate us now more than ever.

As Dinesh D'Souza so brilliantly pointed out in his move "America", Obama is an anti-Colonialist who has disdain for America, but particularly England ( immediately upon being elected returned bust of Churchill given to the US after 9-11) and France ( did Obama attend the peace rally last month? ) due his perception they mistreated and stole wealth from other countries in the region.  Obama's father held strong beliefs along this line, and "Dreams From My Father" was not just a catchy title.  It was the truth.

Obama is seeking a greater Syria, a re-establishment of the Ottoman Empire, allowing a Muslim territory to gain immense power in the region; a power to rival America. As president, actions undertaken by Obama have made America much weaker on the world stage; a transfer of economic wealth and military power.  In addition, like the majority of the region, Obama holds a deep loathing of Israel, easily evidenced by his actions toward one of our dearest allies.

While most responsible world powers grow increasingly concerned about unstable player Iran, who I consider the head of the snake in the region, obtaining nuclear power,  Obama has not made any effort to thwart the Iranian effort.  To the contrary, without a Congress willing to take him on, he has donated heavily to Iran with taxpayer money we do not have.

Obama chief of staff Valerie Jarrett, an un-elected person with enormous power, has plainly stated her objective, but few if anyone took her seriously. Obama takes her very seriously; so should you.

ISIS is running roughshod, just recently burning a Jordanian prisoner alive.  Their objectives have been clearly stated, and they have unleashed slaughter and terror across the region with little or no tangible evidence Obama has done anything about it.  He angrily refuses to even acknowledge who the enemy really is; which is Radical Islam for our low information readers.

Doing nothing about this historic advance of terror is one thing, but as FOX News Kimberly Guilfoyle so appropriately ponders, "Why is our president resupplying terrorists?"

Certainly, anyone on the side of the red, white and blue would never release top level terrorist prisoners during the fight, but Obama has on many occasion.  Back in my day, and I am no old codger, this would be defined as high treason.  Why Congress refuses to seek the immediate impeachment of our commander in chaos I find troubling.

Dinesh D'souza tweeted today that someone asked him "Would you call Obama the worst American president or the first anti-American president?"  Well, that is some question, is it not?

For those who wondered about what the characteristics of the transformation of America might look like, perhaps you can now see.  Obama seeks to diminish America and our colonial partners in punitive fashion on the world stage while fostering an advancement of the Muslim faith, open borders and Marxism throughout the world.  The evidence is overwhelming and on full display, and I conclude his is indeed the first ant-American president; an enemy within.

Meanwhile, evil is looming large on the landscape, and it must be promptly and thoroughly defeated.
