Thank Ya Buddy

Here is a great tribute to Coach Bowden I found on youtube.

Thank You Coach Bowden and Coach Andrews. We will be with you in Jax. GO 'Noles

Blackshirts Swarm Cats

Certainly want to send out best wishes to Rush Limbaugh after some heart issues last evening. At least we know one thing, it was not a poor performance of the Nebraska Cornhuskers that were a contributing factor.

The Blackshirts dominated Arizona 33-0 in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl in stellar fashion. Ndamukong Suh had a fair game statistically, but his controlling the line of scrimmage allowed others to wreak havoc. The end result was the first shutout in the 46 game bowl history for the Big Red.

It is quite obvious the Pelini brothers can coach up some defense. 2009 was a good year but it seems the Cornhuskers are on the brink of some much bigger goals. Go Big Red!

Liquid Courage

Please note the commentary from Senator Max Baucus, D-MT, who has obviously found some liquid courage to pop off on the Health Care Reform, oh, excuse me, Insurance Bill.

Where is the mainstream media on this display? At what point do the American people realize the effect the media bias is having on our country?

Senator Baucus is rambling on the subject of the lack of bipartisan effort on the Health Care Reform bill. Well, free market capitalists, who are found in large measure on the Republican side of the aisle, reject the government taking over one sixth of the economy. Therefore, there is no need to entertain the Democrats, although they do provide endless entertainment.

Running off at the mouth shit canned is one thing, but on the subject of the lack of bipartisan effort, Baucus is full of it. Put him on the list of arrogant elected officials who must be defeated.

And for the record, I am always ready for a tall cool one, but then again, I am not the Senate Finance Committee Chairman. Baucus should not be either!

Shamu and Ndamukong Suh

Out at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, the 'Huskers take a trip to Sea World, where AP National Player of The Year Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska meets up with Shamu:

I do love the color and pageantry associated with the bowl games. Go Big Red!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Enjoy Santa's ride into Manhattan to Radio City Music Hall for the performance for the world famous Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Alarming Ornaments Hidden on Tree

When will this end? Do the folks who supported Barack Obama realize the arrogant anti-American thought process behind this man?

Check out the Christmas Tree ornaments on The White House Tree

There is actually an ornament of Charmian Mao and one of Obama on Mount Rushmore? I am nothing short of disgusted.

Kudlow and Orman Chat Housing

Former Reagan economist Larry Kudlow, host of The Kudlow Report on CNBC, has a very interesting discussion with financial guru Suze Orman on the housing crisis, from the excessive damage to options going forward. It is well worth a listen:

Your Time Is Gonna Come

A tell it like is photo found on the Reaganite Republican, I wholeheartedly echo this thought.

Elected to disperse of a so called "culture of corruption", the Democrats have escalated four fold the corruption in Washington across the gamut in a staggering display of arrogance. I have a newsflash for the liberals; Your Time Is Gonna Come!

Lyin', Cheatin', Hurtin'
That's all you seem to do

Always the same, playin' your game
Drive me insane, Troubles gonna come to you

One of these days, and it won't be long

All I got to say is Your Time Is Gonna Come!

Rubio Gaining Ground

David Asman of FOX News America's Nightly Scoreboard interviews Florida Republican Senate Candidate Marco Rubio on his recent polling gains in his primary race against Governor Charlie Crist. Take a listen:

Rubio is representative of the true conservative candidate that I think both Florida and America is yearning for. Look no further than the fraud being perpetrated in Washington by President Barack Obama and our big spending Congress to see what America is rejecting. Asman offers that Rubio, who is anti-establishment and a favorite of the tea party members, represents the future. So noted.

Laffer & Moore Unplugged

I had trouble sleeping the other night and while surfing YouTube, I came across video of a very interesting recent dinner party in Chicago which had famed economists Arthur Laffer of Laffer Investments and Steve Moore of The Wall Street Journal discussing our current economic issues. Laffer and Moore, in promotion their outstanding book The End Of Prosperity, covered a wide range of issues.

Perhaps you are also having a hard time nodding off, or you appreciate sound economic discussion as I do (Oh, I do recognize I have issues)? If so, sit back and take a half an hour to become knowledgeable on the economics of the day, which include taxes, regulation and important proposed legislation such as health care and cap and trade.

Although I have had occasion to visit with Steve Moore recently, I would jump at the chance to throw some beers together and host an event such as this down here in Orlando. Should that come to pass, I'll invite all my readers.

The Heisman

Sophomore running back Mark Ingram of The University of Alabama won the Heisman Memorial Trophy at the Nokia Theatre in Manhattan last Saturday night. Ingram won over Toby Gerhart of Stanford in the closest voting total ever for the prestigious award.

Although I find him deserving and do not quarrel with him winning, Ingram would have been fourth on my ballot behind DT Ndamukong Suh of Nebraska, running back Gerhart and Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, who I would have voted first in 2008.

Congratulations to Ingram and The University of Alabama, who although being one of the most storied college football traditional powers, has never brought home the award. Roll Tide!

Astonishing Arrogance

Oprah Winfrey, media superstar and supporter of friend Barack Obama, interviewed our President and asked him to grade himself on the job he has done in the first year of his presidency. The arrogance is alarming!

For the record, I would give Obama a better than average grade if I subscribed to his line of thinking. I do not, and therefore would place a grade of D on Obama. The President declared he will transform America, and he is doing just that. George Washington would oppose him vehemently, as I do.

Obama states that his administration inherited the biggest set of challenges since FDR, which is of course a slam on his predecessor, George W. Bush. Much, if not all, of the challenges Americans face was not the fault of George W. Bush.

In the interview, Obama offers that his administration has stabilized the economy and prevented a substantial financial meltdown which may have led to another Great Depression which has led to the economy beginning to grow again. One would hope to see growth having thrown a trillion dollars at the problem. Obama's economic policies are in fact contributing to the continuation of the economic problems we face. Amity Shlaes has written extensively on this subject, including the unemployment problem. Signs of economic growth are anemic and fears of a double dip recession and return to the recent lows on the S&P 500 are well founded.

Obama feels his plan for Afghanistan is the "best possible". I am really confused because he is sending more troops while forecasting an exit plan, not noting whether victory would be considered. The plan is borderline incompetent. We are leaving Iraq, but no thanks to the cut and run crowd he is part of. Obama, whenever present, was a huge opponent of our efforts in Iraq, so if anyone deserves, wait for it, "a shout out", it is ole W.

We definitely do have a more favorable image among those overseas, mainly among those countries we are at odds with. They love Obama's anti war posture, his accommodating stance toward socialist countries and dictators and his position on global climate change, which is otherwise known as a transfer of our wealth to these nations, who through their backward economic policies and opposition to freedom for their citizens, view us a thief of their fortunes.

The consensus about North Korea and Iran refraining from production of nuclear weapons existed long before Obama entered the political stage.

The passage of the proposed health care plan, taking over 1/6th of our economy, violates free market principles and will impose a hefty form of taxation and regulation to the small businesses of America. This will significantly hamper economic growth and be a job killer, thereby expanding the length and deepening the economic downturn we find ourselves in, revisiting the historic missteps of those in charge in the Great Depression as the aforementioned Amity Shlaes outlined in The Forgotten Man.

Obama is doing his best to make Jimmy Carter look good in every facet of the game. Unfortunately, he is so impressed with himself that he is failing to recognize the country is turning on him as reported by Rasmussen, and rightfully so.

Energized

I have always been a big fan of William Shatner, dating back to his portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek, one of my favorite programs of all time. Shatner has long used his Kirk persona for various comedy acts but his guest appearances on The Howard Stern Show provided really provided a vehicle for his quick wit.

Recently, Shatner, along with his work on his show Raw Nerve on Bio.com has been reading exerpts of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's new book Going Rogue on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Although Shatner is no doubt a Hollywood lefty, this has been entertaining.

This weekend, the tables got turned on ole Captain Kirk, as the real Sarah Palin beamed on to the set:

Nicely done on all fronts! Listen to Shatner with Rush Limbaugh HERE

Consumer Under Attack

Meredith Whitney, CEO of the Meredith Whitney Advisory Group, joined CNBC's Joe Kernen and the gang of Squawk Box for a frank discussion on the plight of the consumer. Listening to Obama, you may think things are getting better. Whitney, who accurately predicted the collapse, informs you otherwise, and why. Take a listen:

The current administration is doing everything wrong, most notably attacking small business and the attempted implementation of historically huge entitlement programs, and if the electorate does not stand up strong almost immediately, then in about 9 months it will be too late.

I quite agree with Whitney and am anticipating a high level of pressure on the S&P shortly after the new year. For evidence, review the action in the financials, and remember, as Whitney pointed out, banks can borrow at almost 0% and lend at approximately 5%, but are not lending. Do they know something you don't? Not anymore.

Suh For Heisman

“It is a tremendous honor and very humbling to be a finalist for a prestigious award like the Heisman Trophy," Ndamuknong Suh said in a statement. "I’m excited to be included with a great group of finalists for this year’s award.”

My Vote (if I had one)

1. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
2. Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
3. CJ Spiller, RB-KR, Clemson

If I had a Heisman vote, it would go to Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, the most dominant lineman I have seen in decades. Go Big Suh!

There have been some fantastic finishes this year, but this one really raised the bar:

Nebraska did just about everything they had to do to dump Texas, and for 59:59, they did.

The job the Pelini brothers have done on the defensive side of the football since their return to Lincoln has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Blackshirts operate a disruptive front attacking the line of scrimmage and fly to the football and are sure handed tacklers. They are a pleasure to watch perform. If the 'Huskers had a statistically average offense, they would be no worse than 12-1 at this point. I expect to see a return visit to the Big XII title game next fall.

Cincinnati, after trailing by 21,came back to beat Pitt by executing a point after try, which Pitt failed to do moments earlier, albeit in a snowstorm....Like many, I surprised how Alabama dismantled Florida in such thorough fashion. It was a complete victory for the Crimson Tide.....West Virginia held of the Rutgers in a game impacted by the weather mentioned above. The Mounties are a young team and should be much better in 2010 and....Connecticut capped off a real tough season on and off the field by losing in the last minutes yet again, this time to USF, in the aforementioned snowstorm....The BCS is flawed, but at the end of the day I do think the Longhorns are better than TCU or Cincinnati....Hard to believe USC crumpled down the stretch like they did....Charlie Weis was indeed fired at Notre Dame and the search is already becoming a circus....Will Turner Gill end up at Kansas? I hope not as I would rather not see him in the Big XII north with Nebraska....'Husker DT Ndamukong Suh could, and should, win every defensive award he is eligible for, so clean out the trophy case in Lincoln.

A Farce of a Job Summit

On Thursday, President Obama will holding a jobs summit at the White House. Over a hundred invited movers and shakers will convene to brainstorm and help shape policy moving forward to help government create jobs and move the country forward.

Don't be fooled. This is a political event to make the public fell the administration cares about them and is working on the problem. The truth is, they are creating the problem, overwhelming the system and hoping you turn to them for help out of despair.

Aside from the incorrect mindset by this administration that government creates jobs, it is actually the private sector that does. Fixing the job problem is not particularly challenging, but the mechanisms to get the job done go against the policies of this administration. In an effort to be of assistance, here are a handful of ideas.

1. Uncertainty. Investors, small business owners and corporate America are paralyzed as the amount of regulation and taxes seem poised to increase substantially in the short term. Markets and forecasting HATE uncertainty and the high level of it that exists now must be eliminated.

2. No Free Lunch. Remember Peggy Jospeh? Transferring wealth from successful Americans to those who take no risk, are unable due to secure long standing employment due to lacking skills is the equivalent to exercising a tax on those who create jobs and provide an avenue for those on the low end to build and enhance their skills.

3. Energy Policy. Vice President Joe Biden attempted to throw Sarah Palin under the bus quipping "it is more than just drill baby drill". Not really. Get serious on this this afternoon.

4. Minimum Wage. It was just increased. It should be eliminated. The free market should dictate wages based on demand for the service and the abilities of the workers.

5. No new programs. Cap & Trade and the Health Care Plan will cost businesses untold and unpredictable dollars, which is money that could and should be spent on business expansion.

6. Bush Tax Cuts. Obama will not continue them, which is the wrong move. Recall from economics class when you tax something, you get less of it.

7. Cut Corporate tax. Businesses need to be free from excessive taxation and regulation to conduct business, which leads to increased tax revenue and, oh yes, expansion in employment.

8. Global Climate Change. Although encouraging everyone not to pollute is great, this global warming deal is a hoax and in reality represents a vehicle for the global transfer of wealth. Until completely exposed, and given our main stream media this could take some time, it acts a tax on business, which is passed along to the consumer. That is money that could be used for business expansion, and, jobs.

9. Immediate suspension of stimulus package. Only about 25% rolled out (given the level of unemployment you would think this would be on the fast track), it is already apparent that it is not working (who knew?) and it should be stopped.

10. Reduce corporate taxes. This will help businesses, get this, generate business, and therefore jobs and tax receipts for the government. Instead, Congress and the Obama administration are looking for ways to add to the tax burden, from inheritance tax to war taxation. Increasing taxes in various ways is not good, and one could refer to the Laffer curve for review.

11. Eliminate the Czars. In America, we actually currently have a pay czar. This is far from helpful.

12. Government Interference. A striking example of this is the government takeover of the car companies, and Uncle Sam screwing the bond holders. This was a very bad precedent and possibly illegal.

So there you have it, a dozen items. I doubt Obama will hear any of these thoughts at the summit today, since small business is not invited. Labor unions, SEIU, Academics, government officials and companies involved in global warming are among those participating.

The following chart gives you an idea of the real story in Washington:

Tom Osborne on Bobby Bowden

From the Lincoln Journal Star:

Former Nebraska head coach Tom Osborne on Tuesday released the following statement regarding the retirement of Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden:

“I’ve been in communication with Bobby Bowden over the last few weeks and realize that this has been a difficult situation for him. Football has lost a great representative, but at the same time Bobby, and all of us who know him and care about him, can reflect with admiration on his remarkable career. Bobby accomplished a standard of excellence that is unparalleled in major college football. Having played his teams on several occasions, I can attest to the excellence of his coaching and his preparation. On top of his outstanding won-loss record, Bobby has always been an excellent role model and has stood for the highest standards in athletic competition. I wish Bobby and his family well.”

Osborne, the former Nebraska head coach, and Bowden faced each other on eight occasions, including bowl games after the 1987, 1989, 1992 and 1993 seasons. FSU won all four of those games and split four regular-season games in Lincoln in 1980, 1981, 1985 and 1986.

Riverboat Gambler Bowden Retires

Legendary Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden announced today that he will retire after the conclusion of the season, which will take place after the Seminoles bowl game.

Bowden, who took over a moribund Florida State Seminole program and built it into a nationally elite power, will retire as one the greatest football coaches of all time.

Although many fans have been calling for Bowdens departure due recent seasons that have been below the high standard Bowden himself set, this is a sad day for most Seminoles, including myself.

During his tenure, Coach Bowden was much more to Florida State than a football coach. It could be argued he essentially built the University. Bowden represented FSU with class and integrity. Not only is Bobby Bowden a wonderful ambassador for FSU, but for the game of college football as well. Bowden is also a great individual; fair, competitive, funny and loyal. What you see is what you get.

I have tremendous respect for Coach Bowden. Coach is someone I have always looked up to and have learned a lot from. I would like to thank him for all he has done for our beloved University and all Seminoles and I wish him the very best in his retirement. Coach Bowden has always said not to worry about him, he is a man of faith. I am not worried at all. God Bless You Coach!

Here is a replay of one of the most memorable moments in Bowdens tenure, and I saw it happen live and in person:

A historical review of the career of Bobby Bowden.

Bobby Bowden comments on his retirement:

Word on street is Florida State will face West Virginia, where Bowden coached prior to coming to FSU, in the Gator Bowl. Save me a couple of seats.

CNBC's Griffeth Takes Leave

Veteran CNBC anchor Bill Griffeth is taking one year leave from the network to pursue adventure with his wife. Griffeth released the following statement:

First let me address all of the conspiracy theories: I’m not sick, I’m not being pushed out, and I’m not going on Dancing With The Stars. It’s pretty straightforward. My wife and I are new empty-nesters, so after 28 years of doing business on TV now seems like a good time to take a break, do some traveling, work on a couple of book projects, and shave strokes off of my golf handicap. I will probably turn up on the air.”

Although CNBC has been taking some hits lately, some well deserved, Griffeth was always a beacon of professionalism. Griffeth, who I first came to know watching FNN in college, is someone I respected to bring me quality and timely information of market developments and ask the pertinent questions when interviewing guests. Although we will continue to have Griffeth's on air wife (longtime anchor parter and equally professional Sue Herrera), highly thought of Michelle Caruso-Cabrera and the upstart Dennis Kneale, it won't be the same Power Lunch without Bill.

I wish him well and look forward to welcoming him back.

OUT: Clemson (15), Ole Miss (25) & North Carolina (23)

VOTES: Clemson, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Arizona, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas Tech & Oklahoma.

The ACC, which in my opinion had gotten fairly close to the SEC in recent years, has now fallen quite far behind. Last season, not withstanding GT dumping UGA soundly, you could see some slippage happening, but with South Carolina controlling Clemson, Georgia winning at Tech and Florida playing name that score with Florida State, it clearly shows the gap has again widened....Speaking of the mediocre ACC, Al Groh is out at Virginia, deservedly so.....The ACC Championship game in Tampa, no doubt conceived to produce Miami-FSU games, will have plenty of empty seats with Clemson and Georgia Tech coming off ugly defeats....Notre Dame again got plenty of offense but could not stop Stanford and dropped to 6-6, which should open the door for the departure of Charlie Weis. I agree with Kirk Herbstriet that it seems Weis is mentally ready for the boot. Notre Dame is still a top five job, and there is no reason they cannot be among the nations elite on the field annually..... Toby Gerhart of Stanford is quite player, and he is solid on my post season All America team...Texas disposed of rival A&M at Aggieland but got gashed on defense, and that cannot bode well. Nebraska has the defense to hang with Texas in the Big XII title game but on offense, the 'Huskers are pedestrian...Somehow, Tennessee beat Kentucky for the 25th consecutive time....Auburn came out swinging but got dumped by Bama with a minute to go....Oklahoma State got blanked by OU, a stinging loss considering what was on the line. This season had the makings of special one for the Pokes coming in, but it has been anything but, and that goes for you too Ole Miss. How do you get stomped by lowly Mississippi State getting nearly 50 hung on you....The border game between Missouri and Kansas was a good one, and now we wait to see if KU coach Mark Mangino gets let go....Will Terry Bowden emerge at one of the upcoming openings?

Thankfully, my Seminoles will not have to deal with Tim Tebow again. Tebow dismantled the 'Noles Saturday. For the 'Noles, it was tough with a backup quarterback and our best offensive lineman out. It would not have mattered, particularly considering how bad the defense is. I can play safety better than the ones we put on the field, but with Tebow directing the opposing offense, it would have taken Ronnie Lott to make a difference. Tebow is the man, on and off the field, and as talented a player as I have seen. He is quite deserving of all his accolades and awards.

PHOTO/THE GLOBE

For the first time, Bobby Bowden hinted publicly he may not be back in 2010 to coach the Seminoles. As I have previously stated, I think he will be back provided Jimbo Fisher selects the new defensive coordinator. If Bowden is against that, then he will not be asked to return. Bowden once said he would get out if FSU was not getting it done on the field. Although the Seminoles should be a top ten team to start out 2010, the fact is we currently sit at 6-6, and no matter the reason, that just won't get it.

Palin Visits Central Florida

Sarah Palin visited Orlando last night on her Going Rogue book signing tour. The lines were long, both in the morning waiting for the wristband and at night to get in. She was very pleasant and had many family members with her. It was also enjoyable speaking with the others in the line as it wrapped around the buildings.

Lawbreaker Finds Palin Dangerous

Martha Stewart, bitter former talk show host, author and magazine publisher and convicted felon, delivers some scathing commentary about former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Take a listen:

Normally, the comments of someone so insignificant as Stewart would not register on my list of things to make commentary on, but I found the nature of her comments demonstrative of much more than her opinion and therefore commentary was warranted.

Stewart, as she is entitled to her own opinion, refers to Palin as boring and confused. Well, speaking of boring, I am hard pressed to think of a Hollywood celebrity as boring as Stewart. Confused? It seems to me Palin has her compass set square. Stewart, on the other hand, conveyed to us in a courtroom she was confused. Confused about rules regarding fraud, indeed.

Stewart pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice after being charged with insider trading. As an elitist, she got a watered down sentence you and I would likely have not gotten.

Martha labeled Pain as dangerous. I think folks who commit fraud, lie to federal investigators and obstruct justice are dangerous. As an avid stock trader, I have little room for those involved in insider trading, as I feel the trades in the pit should be on an even playing field. Did my mutual fund get the same opportunity to dump ImClone (IMCL:NASDAQ) (now a subsidiary of Eli Lily(LLY:NYSE))?

I am thrilled to be on opposite sides of the field from Stewart. I find Stewart an elitist who, in her arrogance, looks down those who may challenge the position she and her cohorts exist in. No wonder she finds Palin dangerous, because within the group she travels with, Palin is.

Tim Brando of CBS Sports had the line of the week, when he said CBS would return to Oxford, MS, where they redshirt Miss Americas, in a moment.... Arizona fans tasted it at the conclusion of their overtime loss to Oregon as the fans base was ready to storm the field until the Quack Attack found pay dirt with seconds remaining and winning it in double OT, leaving the fans aghast which prompted one fans to nail a Oregon cheerleader with a bottle. Nice?.....By all measure, Charlie Weis has to be gone at Notre Dame, unless the economic conditions are hitting them more than we know, which I think may be the case....And at Kansas as well, where allegations of verbal abuse has Mark Mangino, a hero 16 months ago, on the edge of losing his job. Economics may not let KU fire him, but the allegations are in fact true, he has got to go no matter the costs. Kirk Herbstriet said it best that some former players better come to his defense..... Very sorry to hear about the death of Stephanie Speilman, wife of Buckeye great Chris Spielman, after a long battle with Breast Cancer. Chris Spielman exhibited love and support for his wife and family that is a playbook for how to be a husband and father, and I for one am praying for him and his family and have learned from the lessons he taught.....Nebraska's offense is very pedestrian but the defense is smothering behind the play of dominating tackle Ndamukong Suh, who is a special player.......LSU gave it away at Ole Miss, but if the Tigers had a better offense, they would have had nothing to worry about.....Florida State will extend the bowl streak, but it took a huge late effort by a trio of freshman to get it done, sending off retiring DC Mickey Andrews out a home winner....North Carolina and Ole Miss are starting to show why everyone had them ranked highly heading in, but it is too little now....Clemson has finally not faltered late and won the ACC Atlantic......Georgia blew a big lead hosting Kentucky and lost, and with Georgia Tech this weekend, 6-6 looks like the mark, which ain't good.

Dithering Dimwit

Via the The Drudge Report, Obama has made some commentary on the time table for his decision on the troop request from General McCrystal. President Obama reportedly told CNN that he is "very close" to a decision on the troop request and will have an announcement "in the next several weeks".

Meanwhile, during all the golf games, vacationing abroad, and armchair quarterback analyzation, our troops are fighting for their lives, some of which have been lost.'

Our President seems to be looking for a way out, not using all our efforts to secure victory. I have no confidence he is interested in victory. At any rate, after claiming he had all the answers, he is in fact dithering and this behavior is unforgivable.

Healthcare Hoodwink

One of the top news stories of the day was new information regarding Breast Cancer, and as usual, I can see beyond the cloaking device at what is really going on.

First, the news. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force adjusted their stance recommending mammogram for women over 40 to only once a year for those over 50 reported the Wall Street Journal. In addition, they advised against physicians teaching women self testing techniques upon new information they are of little value.

Quoting the Wall Street Journal article, The task force, which receives funding from the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality but is independent from the government, last issued guidelines for breast cancer in 2002. "The task force isn't saying there isn't a benefit" to screening women in their 40s, but "we're saying the benefit is small," Dr. Petitti said. "The change really is a change between do it routinely and don't do it routinely." Women 40 and older who are free of any symptoms should talk with their doctors and decide with them whether to put off screening for a few years, she said.

Who is AHRQ you may ask? They describe themselves on their website as "The health services research arm of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), complementing the biomedical research mission of its sister agency, the National Institutes of Health."

Although many articles are hitting private insurance on this one, including representatives of the Susan G. Komen Foundation as noted in the WSJ article, I find the opposite. As our government prepares to take over the health care industry, they are finding ways to cut costs. On such area appears to be by delaying testing of breast cancer through expensive mammograms.

In private business, cutting costs is a prudent measure. But in the case of your health battling the deadly disease of cancer, this type of thinking could cost you your life. Dr. BAHL, not a MD by any stretch of the imagination but having gleefully performed many breast examinations in my day, highly recommends that not withstanding the governmental noise, women check early and often! Save the Tatas! And perhaps, your life!

It seems to me that this is an example of where Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, through arms of the government, are already choosing a level in healthcare where winners and losers collide. Market forces, you and your physician should be the ones making these decisions, not bureaucrats, or as Sarah Palin accurately pointed out, death panels, with hidden agendas.

Speaking of hidden agendas in the health care abomination, Sean Hannity discusses the topic with SE Cupp and the very, very lovely Kimberly Guilfoyle. Take listen:

I Hear Voices

Voices were heard at the final stop of The Tea Party Express in Orlando last Thursday evening. About 4500 Central Floridians showed up to let their voice be heard on a Chamber of Commerce (another Obama target) evening.

It was a pleasure to see Katy Abram, the woman who railed on Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania at a town hall meeting, at the event.

Here are some photos I took of the evening.

Bill Clinton is not impressed by the Tea Party movement as reported from a closed door meeting he had with Democrats this past week. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) quoted Clinton arguing: "The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning."

Winning at what?

No doubt, the Obama administration has thoroughly defeated all the previous administrations, combined, in expanding the federal deficit.

Obama is winning his assault on small business, shackling them with excessive regulation and taxation. I know this first hand.

High marks are given to the administration for the crushing of the dollar and overheating the printing presses.

Never has an administration covered such vast territory in apologizing to the world for all the United States successes.

Although the administration fired out rhetoric proclaiming it would be the most transparent of all, they have been quite slippery in rushing through bills not only have the American people not read, but neither have the Congressional representatives who are voting on them.

The level of proficiency in working around the back door of Congress by creating a full bench of Czars is unparalleled.

This administration will go down in history as the best at promoting the most radical moonbats possible as non elected policy makers.

Winning at the level of associations with thugocratic union types. Check.

Obama is winning on his efforts to seize control over large portions of the private sector, if you can believe that here in America.

The running of the two wars the US is engaged in; into the ground.

Home runs on transforming the United States of America and plotting the evil transfer of wealth through Cap and Trade and The Health Care abomination.

No damn wonder the tea party folks are mad. Any free market capitalist American would be! The administration and its operatives, like Mr. Clinton, want to and are discrediting those speaking out.

Because they hear voices. I Hear Voices!

VOTES: Houston, Arizona, California, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Rutgers, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, South Florida and NAVY.

There were some serious decleaters this weekend, but few rivaled the collision that took place in Stillwater as Poke QB Zac Robinson got blasted on the way to paydirt.

Like many, I thought Stanford would take out a limping USC, but I had no idea they would dismantle the Trojans the with such authority. The game was not close and apparently the handshake at the end of the game between Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh did not go well......OU, who Nebraska held without a touchdown last week for the first time under Bob Stoops, made Texas A&M pay for it.....Florida is winning ugly but I doubt it will catch up to them......Michigan will have consecutive losing seasons and that cannot be sitting well.....Notre Dame had a comeback effort but lost at Pittsburgh and one has to think Brian Kelly is on his way to South Bend.....Georgia had just enough in the tank to get by Auburn.....Tennessee got blasted at Ole Miss, and the Rebels looked like the team many thought they would be coming into the year.....TCU is for real, and they smacked Utah hard.....USF got shutout for the first time in school history at the Rutgers, and it was worse that the 31-0 score indicated..... UCF got a big time win for homecoming, defeating a ranked team for the first time ever in dumping Houston and cancelling Cougar quarterback Case Keenum as a potential Heisman winner.....Texas got all over a fairly decent Baylor team and may be peeking about the right time.....It sure does look like Alabama is better than Florida, but the Gators may just play to the competition.

Florida State salvaged the season behind quarterback EJ Maunel, who in his first start and only real gametime action looked brilliant at Wake Forest as the 'Noles looked like the team that flattened BYU. Beat Maryland at home this week and that will extend the bowl streak to 28. I am sure EJ earned some tomahawks for his performance, but where to put them as we roll out black helmets next week.

Freedom Rang in '89

A celebration took place today in Berlin, attended by our Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, marking the 2oth anniversary of the Berlin wall coming down.

Surprisingly, President Barack Obama was busy and could not attend. One would have to wonder what was so busy to preclude him from attending. Was it date night or movie night? Well, Monday is bowling day at the White House. Missing Tuesday is out of the question, for that is poker day and Obama could perhaps get a fizbin? I know it was not his deliberation on the troop requests, since there has been none. Perhaps his help was needed in ramming the unconstituional health care bill down our throats. At any rate, he should have gone, as it is an opportunity gone by for a few shout outs!

The media is not impressed that the freedom rang back on that day. in fact, some in the media openly question the role of the US, and wonder if our ego is at play?

Speaking of ego, when Obama visited Berlin on his apology tour and referenced the wall coming down, he did mention John F. Kennedy and of course himself. On this anniversary, he did find time to send a video praising himself, but failed to mention those who bravely stood before him. In fact, the architect of the event was not mentioned, at that time or today, which is beyond alarming.

I was a senior in college when the torch was lit, and although much of the elite media have conveniently forgot the events as they unfolded and who was responsible, I have not. And, so you don't either, here is the man, dictating events and orchestrating freedom and free market capitalism at every turn.

VOTES: Oregon State, West Virginia, Tennessee, Auburn, Cal, OU, Nebraska and Notre Dame.

Javid Best of California got seriously hurt in a touchdown leap for the ages, but he will recover. It was scary, and I am quite happy the young man will be fine.....Navy has now sunk Notre Dame tow years in a row, and now one has too wonder if the Irish will be making a coaching change....Bill Snyder can coach, and this is obvious if you look at the progression of Kansas State this year......Colorado will be making a coaching change, and Memphis fired Tommy West today....LSU lost several key players in the contest versus Alabama, got ripped off on an interception by the officials and fell to the Crimson Tide, who secured a spot versus Florida in the SEC Title game.....Ohio State stymied Penn State fairly easily......Never have there been so few quality teams out there.....Jim Harbaugh is doing a great job at Stanford and onemay wonder if he may be a candidate to come home to Michigan, cause Rich Rod ain't what he is cracked up to be......Iowa, finally, was exposed as the fraud they are.....Oklahoma now has 4 losses and may be looking at a few more, perhaps missing a bowl....South Carolina is in the midst of yet another late season collapse.

The Florida State Seminoles held Clemson in check on the road for three quarters, but could not hold the fourth as Clemson pulled away. Seminole quarterback Christian Ponder, playing with broken ribs apparently, was not himself throwing 4 picks. Late in the game, he made a touchdown saving stop on one of them and wrecked his shoulder, ending his season. This spells even more trouble for FSU, as the consecutive bowl streak at 27 seems to be coming to an end unless EJ Manuel can light it up, which is not probable. Ponder had a great season, and was about the only bright spot in a dismal year for us Seminoles.

Nebraska, behind a dominating defense, held Oklahoma without a touchdown for the first time under Bob Stoops and dumped the Sooners in Lincoln. This particular Oklahoma fan is sickened at the thought of it and did not like it one bit. This rivalry was once tops in the country and the teams and fans continue to have the utmost respect for each other. GBR!

Systematic Deception

It is most unfortunate that much of the country is not engaged enough to warp their arms around the deception being thrown at them by the Obama administration and our Congress. Even more distressing is the arrogance and thought process behind the hood winking of the public, from incorrect job numbers, saved jobs and hidden aspects of bills being rushed without proper review.

Greta Van Susteren, host of "On The Record" on FOX News, discusses the deception and lack of transparency with Wall Street Journal senior economics writer Steve Moore:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi warns that she will make every effort to push trough this 2000 page bill no one has had time to read this weekend. So much for the transparency Obama campaigned on. Are they hiding something? Why the rush? Sarah Palin accurately calls out the administration on her Facebook page .

Unemployment is now at 10.2% (due to the policies implemented and the free market interference of this administration in the aftermath of a bubble bursting) and things seem to be spiraling out of control, and under the sense of emergency that appears to exist, the government is asking you to trust them as they take power away from from you, through health care and cap & trade for example, and aim to dictate your life.

Our founding fathers wanted limited government, and as Ronald Reagan once said, as government expands, liberty contracts:

Can You Hear Me Knockin!

Michele Bachmann (R:MN) correctly indicates that the time is now to make sure your voices are heard in an effort to defeat a governmental takeover of our health care system, which would allow these incompetents unprecedented intrusion into our lifestyle. Please take a listen:

Now, how can you insure another 45 million extra people without increasing the amount of Doctors all the while being deficit neutral and not rationing care? You do not have to be Milton Friedman to recognize this dog won't hunt.

It is far time for this nation to exercise some common sense, not steal individual wealth for the common good!

Although I am told four buses are leaving from Orlando, I cannot join them. However, and this should be fun, I will be playing Doctor and making some house calls on my representatives on Friday. Can You Hear Me Knockin!

Going Galt

Ran across this story on the popularity of Ayn Rand on Reason TV, who is having a week long perspective on Ayn Rand, and found it interesting. Please see the piece:

It a subject I have written about before and the ever growing popularity of Ayn Rand and her classic Atlas Shrugged was addressed in a recent column by Wall Street Journal Senior Economic Writer Steve Moore.

For the uninitiated, the moral of the story is simply this: Politicians invariably respond to crises -- that in most cases they themselves created -- by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. These, in turn, generate more havoc and poverty, which inspires the politicians to create more programs . . . and the downward spiral repeats itself until the productive sectors of the economy collapse under the collective weight of taxes and other burdens imposed in the name of fairness, equality and do-goodism says Moore.

It is no wonder, with leeches coming from everywhere including our own government, that entrepreneurs and capitalists across the fruited plain are attending every tea party possible.

Moore's column, written in January, and the 5o year old classic itself, are incredibly relevant to the goings on today and they demands your immediate attention. The fundamental transformation of our country is fully engaged by the progressives and the time remaining to thwart these economic imbeciles is running out! Go Galt!

Tech, leaving one to wonder what happened to the trendy preseason pick of the Heels, and speaking of that, what in world are we to make of Ole Miss?...Tim Tebow took out the rushing touchdown record held by Bulldog Herschel Walker, ripping a run off against the Dawgs rubbing slat in the wound along the way.

The Great Stock Market Crash

80 years ago today, on the corner of Wall and Broad, the euphoria of a bloated stock market came crashing down as panic selling hit the market as the bubble burst. The day is known as Black Tuesday, and it became a catalyst for the Great Depression.

We are currently living an example of how devasting these events can be. Please review a portion of this PBS documentary:

What to take from this? They don't give away money on Wall Street, as there is no free lunch!

Piece By Piece

Five days before the presidential election last year, Senator Barack Obama declared that he and his supporters were "five days away from fundamentally transforming America". The comment flew by most who heard it, but the grim reality is that since his election, this is exactly what he is doing. If most Americans were aware of it, they would be really pissed.

Over on FOX News, Glenn Beck is brilliantly laying out this case on his 5PM EST program, and he is throwing up ratings never before seen. But, and sit down for this one, most of the mainstream media portray Beck as a crackpot, and therefore, many American citizens out busting their ass to make a living and spending time with their family do not have time to get the real story and discount Becks presentations.

In addition, that same mainstream media, as well as several elected officials, have labeled those voicing their opposition to Obama and his policies as racists. Sure, it is a sign of defeat when you pull out the race card, but while all this rhetoric is being tossed about, it distracts us from the reality that the America out founders fought to create is in fact being transformed by this administration.

In a column in Investors Business Daily, famed author and economist, Dr. Thomas Sowell, The Rose and Milton Friedman Senior Fellow on Public Policy at Stanford's Hoover Institution, lays out the evidence. No one can claim Sowell is a crackpot, or for that matter, a racist. Sowell is one of the top economists around these days and his opinions are well worth your consideration. Please take a moment to read his editorial, which I find right on target.

Choosing Capitalism

Confused about the direction to take in the tumultuous times we live in? The government is taking seemingly every opportunity to seize more control and power, claiming they, not the American worker, provide the answers. They are wrong! An informed choice must be made as this is indeed a time for choosing, and thankfully, the playbook need not be written. It was laid out masterfully, 45 years ago yesterday in Los Angeles, by a conservative who later became our 40th President. Please listen carefully:

Boy Howdy, does that not make things crystal clear for you? Free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity!

Govenment Power Grab of College Football?

In the past year, we have seen the most expansive governmental power grab of my lifetime. Given the numerous successes of governmental influence, including the Post Office, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Medicare, prompt vaccinations, the Department of Motor Vehicles, our prison system and regulatory agencies like the Securities & Exchange Commission, one would wonder who would want these idiots controlling the local car wash.

The government is on the verge of controlling the media, our health care and our energy usage. As alarming that is, it appears an effort to control a precious part of our fabric is also underway. Jenna Lee engages the discussion:

These morons can't control the financial SEC, so now they want to regulate the other SEC! Good grief! I reject governmental influence and disruption in markets, and the last thing I want is them dictating regulation in the color and pageantry of college football. Barack Obama, and most of these Congressional meddlers, would not recognize Bobby Dodd from Bob Devaney and have no idea who plays annually in The Iron Bowl. The third Saturday in October is time for Tennessee and Alabama, not for government to get any crazy ideas. Given the governments embracing of political correctness, will we be awarding trophies to all participants rather than those actually winning championships?

Certainly, there are more pressing issues. Doesn't Obama have a fund raiser to attend? Some dancing or basketball? Afghanistan? Stay away from our Saturday afternoons! Otherwise, fans across the country will be coming to your city to throw you out of office, joining NASCAR fans, tea party members and free market capitalists everywhere!

CNBC Favoring Obama?

I closely follow the goings on on the corner of Wall and Broad in Manhattan, and as such, have a monitor on CNBC throughout the day. I think they do a very good job, from watching the markets to the production of a tremendous slate of documentaries and for the most part, have an excellent group of anchors and reporters.

Unfortunately, the evidence is mounting that CNBC, with Obama corporate partner General Electric as their parent company, has taken a hard left in the presentation of their programming, and this is not good.

A race for Governor of New Jersey produces a case in point. Larry Kudlow, who is fabulous, presents commentary on information the race is over based on polling on Monday nights Kudlow Report.

Over on FOX & Friends this morning, the lovely Gretchen Carlson has an interview with Republican candidate Chris Christie and presents polling which show Christie with a slight lead.

Who is right? Rasmussen polling, the recognized leader in polling, has Christie slightly up, so go figure! So, is CNBC reporting way off or is there a bias in presenting Dave Corzine, the Democrat and Obama backer, ahead? Seems obvious to me.

Want more? Recently, on CNBC's Fast Money, commentary about the policies of Obama was squelched. Charles Gasparino, a stout reporter who is quite aware of his skills, was nudged (did you get the Cass Sunstein pun) by host Melissa Lee to button up when speaking of Obama. Take a listen:

If CNBC thinks traders are not cognizant of the anti-capitalistic policies of Obama and how they will effect the earnings, and composition for that matter, of traded companies going forward, they are completely misinformed. Furthermore, to muzzle a correspondent making this commentary, points to an internal bias.

Increasingly lengthy face time for anti-capitalist far left progressive power brokers like Howard Dean and John Podesta is one thing, but efforts to curtail those attacking the policies of Obama, particularly on the home court of CNBC where economics and finance rule the day, will push FOX Business Network straight to the top!
