Sunday Night Song

Perhaps known domestically for one great song, Don't You Forget About Me, from the blockbuster movie The Breakfast Club, Jim Kerr and Simple Minds have a slew a great tunes, and one of which is featured tonight in Sunday Night Song.

After a great weekend of football, it is apparent my Seminoles are indeed alive and kicking; ask the Gators. With that in mind, from the album Once Upon A Time, here is a 1997 live performance of Alive and Kicking from Simple Minds as tonight's Sunday Night Song. Enjoy!

And We Danced

What a day, yes? On this day 25 years ago, from Wembley Stadium in London and in JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, the Live Aid concert organized by Bob Geldof to raise money for famine. All sorts of major acts, from Simple Minds to The Who performed. The Hooters opened in Philadelphia with "All You Zombies". With anticipated Beatles and Led Zepplein reunions, this was a cannot miss MTV television event. Only Paul McCartney performed, but the living members of Led Zeppelin took the stage, and kicked some ass. Any requests?
