Seminole Pow Wow

The Seminole Club of Greater Orlando hosted the annual Bobby Bowden Tour Saturday, which culminated with a banquet at the Crowne Plaza Airport.

Coach Bowden had a very strong outing on the golf course, sinking a 45 footer on 18 while firing an 83.

When thinking of the 2008 Seminoles, Bowden seemed very encouraged. Obviously, the idiotic recent behavior and arrest by wideout Preston Parker, our best player, will be a negative factor. However, Bowden is pleased with the development of some of the younger players and feels we are one recruiting class away from getting back to challenging for national honors.

Word on the street is Christian Ponder is outstanding and could well upstart Drew Weatherford for the starting position at quarterback. Ponder gives FSU athleticism at the position we have not had, and this fits the scheme of offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher.

Coach Bowden remains quite engaged and vigorous, showing no signs of hangin it up, although it is inevitable over the next few years. It is always a pleasure to visit with Coach and a fun time for sure for the Orlando Florida State faithful. Go 'Noles
