Ponder is Chief

Christian Ponder has been named starting quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles by offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher.

Ponder has won a tight battle with Drew Weatherford (33 starts) and DVontrey Richardson for the job. All three signal callers rose to the occasion and performed well in fall camp.

The problem with Weatherford was a lack of aggressiveness against opposing defenses which led to a lack in offensive point production. This in turn put overwhelming pressure on the 'Noles defensive unit.

Ponder a great athlete possessing shifty footspeed, has a strong arm and is a quality decision maker. He has already graduated with a degree in finance.

As much as I appreciate Weatherford as a person and his accomplishments on the field, this is the direction FSU needs to go to get this team back to challenging for championships.
