Walking Down Wrong Path

As discussion of the plan to form a super committee of members of Congress to make debt recommendations, I immediately thought that if such a committee were to be formed, it should be composed of business leaders, economists and budget hawks with common sense. As I contemplated the individuals I would place on such a committee, first to my mind was former Comptroller General David Walker.

Upon leaving government in 2008, Walker has been sounding the alarm bell about the dire financial condition Uncle Sam is in, including participating in the movie IOUSA. Walker served as President of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation until late 2010, when he left to form The Comeback America Initiative. The mission of The Comeback America Initiative as stated on their website is to promote fiscal responsibility and sustainability by engaging the public and assisting key policymakers on a non-partisan basis in order to achieve solutions to America's fiscal imbalances.

I have long respected David Walker and have appreciated his efforts leading the way in attempting to wake the American people up and working to form solutions. Upon learning of Walkers Comeback America Initiative, I thought this would be a fine organization to support given Walkers history and the imminent need for financial sanity in America.

As I was investigating CAI, the list of the Board of Directors I found to be very concerning. Walker has always operated from a bipartisan platform, but two members of the CAI board I find unacceptable as they operate against the very principles of free market capitalism and sound financial efforts to, as CAI's mission statement suggests, achieve solutions to America's fiscal imbalances.

In fact, these two Gentlemen I feel actively work against such initiatives.

Andy Stern, former President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), was at one time the most frequent visitor to President Obama in the White House. Workers of the world unite Stern, at the helm of SEIU, significantly contributed to bloating of entitlements which have put this country in a stranglehold. More troubling, on numerous occasions, Stern's SEIU operated as thugs, often violating the law. A mob of 500 SEIU thugs surrounded a Bank of America executive's home. No problem for Stern, who said "We took names. We watched how they voted. We know where they live." Glenn Beck has more:

It is time to fight the thugs, not have them serve on boards on how to fix the financial woes of our nation, woes through entitlements they push are central to the problem.

Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners, is a progressive champion of social justice and a spiritual adviser to President Obama. Wallis has described himself as a fan of Marxism and has openly called for the redistribution of wealth in society, stating this is what the gospel is all about. President Obama is making every effort to redistribute our wealth, to forgo charity and just take or steal money from those who have it and transfer it those in need under the premise of social justice. Glenn Beck has more:

Perhaps by having Stern and Wallis on the CAI board, Walker can keep his friends close and his enemies closer, but somehow I doubt that is what is happening. Although I remain supportive of David Walker, I will refrain from supporting his CAI effort as long as the board of directors is occupied by opponents of free markets and proponents of social justice, Marxism and wealth transformation. These are among the folks who are actively destroying this country from within through expansive and massive entitlements, and I am vigorous in my opposition to them.

Against The Wind: Illegal Immigration

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Due to the lack of federal enforcement of existing immigration laws, the state of Arizona enacted their own immigration law, one that closely parallels the one on the books of the federal government. Behind the leadership of Governor Jan Brewer (R), Arizona correctly took steps to protect their state from illegal immigrants, who are benefiting from public services and in many cases, engaging in criminal activity.

Some 63 % of the US citizenry approves of the measure Arizona is taking. Oh sure, several left wing moonbats and many illegals are against Arizona, and the list includes the City of Los Angeles and long forgotten musical duo Hall & Oates. President Obama is not happy and met with Gov. Brewer at the White House to voice his displeasure. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton later announced from Ecuador that Obama will be suing Arizona without informing Gov. Brewer first in a classy move.

So Obama is waging battle against Arizona against the will of the majority of the citizenry and creating chaos in the process. Arizona junior Senator John Kyl has a thought, and I deem him correct, on the method to the madness of Obama. The lovely Shannon Bream of FOX news (and FSU) has a report:

The border has been a problem for decades but as escalated in recent years since coupled with the drug problem, we now have national security issues with the increasing threat of dirty bombs. With this in mind, this has to be the top failing of the previous administration.

However, Bush was not using the border as a crisis to craft political legislation. The legislation Obama is hoping to get will give those illegals amnesty and secure significant block of Democratic voters going forward, most of whom will happily accept any and all entitlements offered by the socialist regime in DC.

And in the event the legislation is thwarted, the groundwork is being laid, or an attempt is being made at moving the Overton Window. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis thinks all workers, illegal or not, deserves to get paid legitimate wages, which would be against the law. FOX News Greta Van Susteren and former George W. Bush press secretary Dana Perino discuss the PSA Solis created.

Workers of the world unite! Andy Stern, who up until recently headed SEIU, is a huge backer of Solis. It seems clear that Solis is part of the Obama team of union thugs who are actively working to govern against the will of the people and inflict social justice upon our citizenry, where collective rights trump individual rights.

This against the views of our founding fathers, free market capitalism and the American way. Therefore, I join Sarah Palin and many others in support of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer in crafting legislation to protect the state of Arizona.

Obama's ACORN a Cancer on Prosperity

As we sit in the midst of a housing crisis of unprecedented magnitude, one of the main culprits, ACORN, has essentially gotten a pass from our governmental officials and the mainstream media.

While bank executives have been targeted and vilified by Congressional committees and our President, it took a couple of young aspiring journalists posing as a pimp and prostitute to get the government to take notice of ACORN. The aftermath of that caused some politicians to distance themselves from the organization while others blatantly vocalized their support. Others, including a former ACORN lawyer, lied to the American people about the extent of their relationship with the organization: President Barack Obama.

A handful of politicians have been doing everything they can to expose this organization of corruption and civil disobedience, including Representatives Michele Bachmann (R:MN) and Darrell Issa (R:CA), ranking reform member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Issa released a statement and the following video, which is in full scale contradiction to the public comments made by Obama on the campaign trail. Take a listen:

HT/GATEWAY PUNDIT

After being exposed, ACORN was temporarily cut off from receiving any funding from the government until last Halloween, when business as usual picked up where it left off. And that in itself is most troubling.

ACORN, who has been charged with voter fraud, was complicit in the housing crisis by shaking down banks and intimidating them to lend to less than desirable borrowers. Forcibly interfering in the marketplace through intimidation, fraud and civil disobedience by ACORN and unions such as SEIU are purported to be of benefit to our communities, but in fact are a cancer on growth and prosperity due to the inefficiencies they create and legalities they flirt with violating.

Among the young attorneys fighting the banks on behalf of ACORN was Barack Obama. During the rise of Obama to the office of the Presidency, as the negative publicity swirled around ACORN, Obama skirted the truth at best in describing to the American people his relationship with the community organization. In fact, since his election, Andy Stern of SEIU is reported to be the most frequent visitor to the White House.

While Obama publicly ridicules bank presidents and Wall Street firms for their role in the crisis, and they do have one, he fails to take responsibility for his voting record and the role organizations he supports had. Obama is, to be kind, disingenuous with the American people, and if you have not seen through his lack of honesty and transparency as of yet, perhaps you will now.
