Words of Truth

With the help of the government, the Coronavius is destroying the United States of America.

Without question, considering the devastating impact the virus was expected to deliver to our nation, a bold, intelligently implemented plan was unfortunately needed.

America has cooperated in stunning fashion, particularly in the way they have relinquished, temporarily, our rights and freedom.

America is winning the health battle, but is now losing handily the economic part of this war. And that has got to stop. NOW!

It is time to move beyond the myopic view of health being the only factor dictating our actions.  We need to consider the economic ramifications, which are staggering. If we don't reopen right quick, we may pass the point of now return.

I have empathy and compassion for those impacted by this invisible enemy, but as an old friend, Lt. Commander Spock of Starfleet Command once said, "The needs of many outweigh the needs of the few - or the one.

Indeed. Truer words have never been spoken.

Open up America NOW!

A Most Human Soul

Leonard Nimoy/Mr. Spock
Needless to say, I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Leonard Nimoy, who played the beloved Mr. Spock on the famed television series Star Trek.

Star Trek
was always among my very favorite shows, and to this day, if I should catch it flipping through the channels, if time allows, I park it right there.  I know them all well, and greatly appreciate their brilliance.

Mr. Spock has always been, and will forever be, my friend.  Live Long and Prosper as you enter the genesis of your new journey.

Inside The Gate

What in the world is going on these days? Was there a malfunction on the transporter Mr. Scott?

Every decision made by our current administration, and President Obama in particular, lacks even a hint of common sense. You can feel it, and see it.

If you are a follower of the blog, you recognize I am a fan of Glenn Beck. Beck has been hitting the nail on the head for quite some time, but it jumped the shark on Thursday in my opinion.

As my friend Budah quipped over the weekend, while we love our country, we are not very fond of our government these days. And with good reason! Unfortunately, it is worse than you could imagine.

Beck lays the case out, and you must hear the case, for it is most compelling. The sovereignty of our nation is at stake, on several fronts. Energize!

The enemies inside the gate are counting on you sitting it out.

Glenn advises us of a famous quote from Dietrich Bonhoeffer:
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act
.

Free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity. If the enemies inside the gate succeed in their actions, we will as Ronald Reagan said, slide into generations of darkness.

In the spirit of Reagan and our Founding Fathers, won't you join me in the fight for freedom!

Raw Nerves with Captain Kirk

Quite possibly the very best guest on The Howard Stern Show is none other than William Shatner, no doubt best known for his outstanding portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk on Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek. What is not known by many is that Shatner is bust a gut funny, and his antics with Stern have always left me howling.

Shatner now has new venue to exhibit his humor in the form of an interview show on the Biography Network called Raw Nerve. Among the early guests of the program were Jon Voight, Fran Drescher and Kelsey Grammer. And...

Speaking of Howard Stern, another early guest of the new show was former porn superstar Jenna Jameson, which would be cause enough to tune it on its own. Jenna became well known for a part she had in Stern's movie Private Parts. I had occasion to first meet Jenna in 1997 and she was very nice, although only seemingly about 5'1" and 95lbs.

Without question, Shatner could not get this talk show going without having his old buddy, Leonard Nimoy, on for a visit. And that he did!
Leonard Nimoy, of course, portrayed Mr. Spock on our beloved Star Trek and has a special place in our hearts. I really enjoyed the conversation between these two. Although the segment was only a half an hour, in my mind, these two cats could discuss Star Trek for days. The expressions Shatner was hitting Mr. Spock with were killing me and seem to be hinting at the old days. I think Star Trek represents the best television has had to offer, and if I catch it while channel surfing, I stop right there.

Check out Shatner's new show, I think you will find it most enjoyable. Live Long and Prosper!

Media Malfeasance

Anymore, I get up in the morning wondering when Mr. Scott beamed me to a somewhat synchronized planet because my America is damn near unrecognizable these days.

Among the many items of note is the jumping of the shark, scratch that, the metamorphosis, of the news media and the extreme bias they demonstrated during this election. Regardless of which side you party on, you would agree the media has somewhat of a fiduciary responsibility to the citizens of this country not to blatantly attempt to direct the flow of news related information in a biased manner. They continue to fail miserably.

This video by John Zeigler on his site How Obama Got Elected, posted everywhere, is shocking to some but exactly what I suspected:

On the 30th anniversary of the tragic mass suicide among followers of Peoples Temple religious cult leader Jim Jones, we recognize, or so I think, how powerful voices can strongly influence trusting folks whom they empower with false or misleading information. It just happened again, and thankfully there has been no loss of life because of it. Yet.

The news media should be held accountable, for this is not about advertising dollars! This is about our country, and the lives of our children. They do not care, which I guess is why I was on the side of Country First and they were not.

The Illogicality of Bele and Lokai

On NBC's Meet The Press this morning, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Colin Powell, a Republican, endorsed Barack Obama, D:IL, for President. I respect Powell, and his decision. Then I heard the reasoning behind his decision and drew a different conclusion. Take a listen to Powell:
The case Powell made for Obama, and against John McCain, I found extremely weak and even misguided. Although I can buy his rationale for a "transformational figure", I will take issue with several of his other points.

"This Bill Ayers situation that's been going on for weeks became something of a central point of the campaign," Powell said. "But Mr. McCain says that he's a washed-out terrorist. Well, then, why do we keep talking about him?"

We speak of Mr. Ayers not because he is an unrepentant terrorist, but because it displays the lack of judgement of Obama by alliances he has formed with folks who hate America and wish it ill will. Certainly, Reverend Wright would be yet another example.

Powell commented he sees the Republican party moving to far toward the right. I wish it were true, but it is not. John McCain is the Republican candidate Democrats could snuggle up to. He is the one who, much to my distaste, who has crossed the aisle and sponsored bills with Democratic leaders such as Russ Feingold, who is off the planet out there, and Ted Kennedy.

Sarah Palin is also concerning to Powell. "I don't believe she's ready to be president of the United States". Fair enough, although she does have executive experience as a Governor and has an extensive record in dealing with a significant issue of the day in energy. While Powell questions Palin's readiness, count me among those who has the same questions about Obama, and he is pursuing the one slot. Powell feels McCains decision to pick her raises judgement questions. Cool to hang with Ayers and Rev. Wright but don't pick a Governor for VP?

Powell further commented "I would have difficulty with two more conservative appointments to the Supreme Court, but that's what we'd be looking at in a McCain administration." Given the rhetoric of the domestic policies Obama has indicated, this may be my top reason for supporting McCain. I think our whole judicial system is a mess and much too liberal, otherwise many of the criminals would remain locked up, even if they were not able to have cable television.

"In the case of Mr. McCain I found that he was a little unsure as to how to deal with the economic problems that we were having," Powell said. Obama "displayed a steadiness, an intellectual curiosity, a depth of knowledge and an approach to looking at problems like this." If I didn't know, I would be curious as well. Obama sat the episode out, or voted present, making only generic commentary on the subject. In my view, Obama's lack of understanding how our financial markets function is frightening.

So, either Powell is a leftist Democrat masquerading as a Republican or something else is behind his decision. Since his reasoning does not stack up, I suspect there is, and that Powell is supporting Obama because he is black.

This is illogical decision making and one I think Dr. Martin Luther King would discard. Casting a vote is among the most important roles our citizens can play, and that vote should be cast for the best person you feel can represent you and our fellow citizens in performing the duties set forth. A decision should not be made based on color or creed or favorite football team, or as a nation we could end up in a most illogical battle for our souls, much like the one portrayed between Bele and Lokai in Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek. It was an eyebrow raiser indeed!

Spock Out!
