Core of Destruction

America is under attack from within.
 
As often as we have including that wording in one of our blog posts, it has the feel of some kind of catch phrase.  Be advised it is not.  By design, no doubt strongly enhanced by the Cloward-Piven Strategy, the tentacles of attack are so numerous you would think you were in battle with an octopus.
 
The avenue of approach employed by the Obama administration and their progressive partners, inclusive of more than a handful of GOP members, on each tentacle, has the sting of a Man of War.
 
Fitting we mention the word war, as it is becoming apparent America is in a form of Civil War, only it is on the battlefield of ideology rather than dodging bullets on a vast parcel in western Kentucky.
 
Each of the avenues of attack are uniquely dangerous, and as Obama planned, transformative. 
 
Perhaps the most destructive is attack is one currently target bombing our education curriculum in the public school system.  This initiative is supported by heavy hitting Republicans and Democrats, inclusive of Mike Huckabee and Jeb Bush from the GOP to Bill Gates, Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers, former Intel CEO Craig Barrett and companies such as State Farm Insurance and Exxon-Mobil.
 
We did an extensive blog post, A Real Rotten Core, a year ago outlining how dangerous to our freedom and liberty the initiative is.  The Common Core Standards seek to transform the system of teaching. The basis presented to the public establishing the need for the new standards center on the ability to streamline educational efforts, standardizing curriculum standards across the nation and to give our students help in competing with students around the world enabling them a more prosperous future in competing in the global economy.
 
Cloaked inside that reasonable objective is extensive data mining of our children, which as presented is an invasion of privacy and in violation of the fourth amendment.  Common Core places student in a box, limiting their potential to advance beyond the scope of the designed curriculum, emphasizing globalism and social justice over individualism and free market capitalism.
 
At the core, pun intended, Common Core is much more about control of the citizenry and indoctrination of our youth than it is about building a more productive public school system.
 
In an article at The Corner, Stanley Kurtz examines a quiet but devastatingly effective effort to replace the teaching of traditional American history in our high schools with a new, centrally-controlled, and sharply left-leaning curriculum.  As Kurtz, whose reputation is concrete solid, reports, The College Board, who issues the SAT and various AP exams, has created elaborate new framework for he AP US History Exam, will effectively force nearly all American high schools, public and private, to transform the was they teach US History.
 
I got a news flash for you.  These folks are charter members of the blame America first crowd, thinking, like our President, that American prosperity was ill gotten through thievery and oppression.  Social justice, fairness and equality will the emphasis, contrary to the foundations and principles of our Constitutional Republic.
 
Think your child can sideswipe the changes?  False.  Prospective college students will be required to satisfactorily pass the SAT, which will be heavily based on the new framework.  Indoctrination.
 
Many states, risking the loss of heavy governmental funding, are backtracking from accepting the Common Core standards.  If the public really knew the nuts and bolts of Common Core, it would overwhelmingly be rejected.  Same with the US History framework Kurtz has warned us about.
 
This Tuesday, July 22, presents a golden opportunity for you to become more knowledgeable on this subject, and physically participate in helping defeat it. Glenn Beck will assemble a cast of interested parties, pro and con, for a lengthy interactive experience live from his studios in Las Colinas, Texas.
 
As Beck puts it, WE WILL NOT CONFORM is a chance for anyone who’s tired of sitting idly by as the federal government continues its takeover of our schools to come together and do something about it. Among the parties scheduled to participate are David Barton of WallBuilders, FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe and Michelle Malkin, who has been leading the charge in opposition of Common Core.  
 
Common Core can be defeated, but we need all hands on deck.  While it has supporters on both sides, it also has opponents on both sides.  Therefore, this provides an opportunity to find common ground with those who we are normally at odds with, which is integral in reversing the downward spiral our country is in.
 
Please make time to find a theater presentation in your neck of the woods and join us in fighting those who seek to limit our freedom and liberty.  WE WILL NOT CONFORM!

A Shepherd Who Led The Flock

Glenn Beck tearfully reports Ken Hutcherson, who has stage four cancer, is in the last days of losing his fight to this insidious disease.  We are all losing, as Sean Hannity puts it; A Great American.

Although I never had the pleasure to meet Hutch, it seems many of us have known him for years.  Hutch, who emerged from a troubled childhood to play NFL football for the Dallas Cowboys, often joined Rush Limbaugh on his number one rated nationally syndicated radio show to discuss the NFL Playoffs.  It was always a hoot.

In this past year, meeting through David Barton, Pastor Hutcherson and Glenn Beck have become great friends; their friendship no doubt cemented on faith and their rising fears regarding the declineof our great nation.

During this time, through appearance on Beck's nationally syndicated radio show and The Blaze, we all learned a lot from Hutch.  Beck recognized Hutch spoke truths that needed to be heard, an so began a four part series on The Blaze, Beck's emerging television network. An episode on fatherhood was particularly insightful; a most significant message Hutch wanted to aim at young inner city youth.



Though few of us actually knew Hutch, through his relationships with Rush, and particularly Glenn Beck, many of us have had the honor to get to know Hutch, hear his message, and learn to become better servants of God in the process.

Beck fought back tears this past Tuesday in discussing Hutch with his staff.  Please take a listen:

Post Race Analysis

Absolutely stunning.

Boy howdy, did I have it wrong.

I am in good company, joining Ann Coulter, Charles Krauthammer, Glenn Beck, Larry Kudlow, Michael Barone, Karl Rove and Dick Morris. Among those who had it nailed was Larry Sabato.

What area of my analysis was so flawed that led me draw conclusions that were so in error?  Well, as incorrect as I was, arm-chair quarterbacking seems useless.  However, the area I have zeroed in on leads to a larger point.

I agreed wholeheartedly with the post race analysis of David Barton, who centered in on decades of education that failed to accurately present the fundamentals of being knowledgeable and participatory in the pursuit of economic freedom, complete with lacking moral perspective.

Individuals in the age range of say 20-34 grew up within the technological age, with exponential increases in product advancements.  For many, hard work and ethics were not necessary to acquire many materialistic items, and the basis and desire for the pursuit is lacking.

Furthermore, Obama and Biden and their surrogates operated in a most immoral fashion throughout the campaign, lying and ridiculing opponents allowing them to win at any costs necessary.  If I acted like that at my job, I would be fired as we are asked to operate in maximum efficiency adhering to rules of common decency and decorum.

Obama lies in speeches, sounding quite good to the American Idol crowd, but actually does not pursue any of the common sense seemingly obvious courses of action he mentions.  Reducing the debt, which exploded under his watch, and increasing energy, which his instruction has handicapped, are two examples from his victory speech last night.

The Republican Party needs to do a much better job of dismantling the falsehoods they are painted with, and doing a better job a presenting the case of establishing economic freedom, something the public education system has failed miserably to do.

Mitt Romney would have been a terrific representative as President of the United States, and unlike 51% of my fellow citizens, I was pained to learn he would not have that chance. Romney, and Paul Ryan, are fine men.

I fear for the future.  President Obama will continue to spend, increasing taxation and regulation along the way. His warm smile fronts a jaded mask, and a man who is not at peace and will aim to demonize those who dare to oppose him in his wealth transformative efforts.

For those who did not learn it in school, we remember Lady Thatcher, who quipped "Socialism is great until you run out of everyone elses money." 

I have a news flash for you; we are out of money.

Pony Up

ESPN College Football Analyst Craig James has taken a leave of absence from the network as he ponders a run for US Senate in his home state of Texas. James, who starred at SMU and The New England Patriots, is a real estate developer and has been covering college football for some 20 seasons.

In preparation for a potential run, James has founded Texas for a Better America, which focuses on the ideals of free markets, entrepreneurial spirit, protecting the Constitution and American Exceptionalism. James seems like a great guy, and with a platform like that he could be the type of representative we are searching for.




James would be joining an already crowded field. One of his potential GOP opponents, Ted Cruz, who I am unfamiliar with but who has the endorsements of David Barton, Jim DeMint and Rand Paul, each of whom I respect and support, has a great video hammering Obama. Find the Founders

It was another grand Memorial Day Weekend, full of fellowship, good eating, beer drinking and of course, fondly remembering and giving heartfelt thanks to all those who served the fight for freedom. A cold beer was held on ice for those who could not be there. God Bless all of you!

And while our thoughts were with our heroes, Memorial Day weekend is also Raceday. After the events of Sunday, I do not care to think of the irony of the two National Guard sponsored cars encountering trouble en route to victory out of the final turn four in both in the Centennial running of the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR's World Coca Cola 600 in Charlotte.

In the political arena, many potential GOP Presidential candidates were out engaging the folks. This included a impromptu bus tour by Sarah Palin called the "One Nation" tour.



The tour is designed to celebrate America's exceptionalism, engage the history of what made this nation great, reconnecting with our founding fathers and restoring and building on the traditions that make America exceptional.

FOX News contributor Charles Krauthammer doubted we need anyone running around reminding about the Constitution and Gettysburg. Although I respect Krauthammer and generally agree with him, he is out to lunch on this one.

With huge numbers of America awash in guilty pleasures chronicling the lives of housewives and fresh tunes on American Idiot, indeed we do need refreshing on the pieces of historical foundation that has been laid throughout our history.

Michelle Obama said Barack Obama will make us change our history and traditions as he implements the fundamental transformation of America. Meanwhile, Governor Palin paints in bold colors as she correctly points out that America doesn’t need a "fundamental transformation," instead we need a restoration of all that is good and strong and free in America!

Certainly, that can include a thirst for learning all we can about those that paved the way in the fight for freedom. I encourage you to re-engage with our founders, and join Governor Palin in Restoring America and dicovering the great nature of our country.

Happy Presidents Day

On this Monday, we celebrate Presidents Day. The day is a federal holiday in honor of George Washington. Abraham Lincoln was also born in mid February, so many link the birthdays of these two men together when thinking of Presidents Day.

Gallup took a pool released over the weekend indicated that Americans think Ronald Reagan was the greatest President in the history of the United States of America. Hey now!

Have you ever been contacted by a pollster? Yeah, neither have I.

Therefore, had I been asked, I would have presented the following three in order as my top US Presidents.

George Washington

Without question, Washington exemplifies everything you could ask for in a President. Few men have ever displayed such a level of leadership as Washington, no doubt our first field general. It is safe to say we may not have country if it were not for Washington, and his legacy is worthy as the founder of our country. As part of FOX News Glenn Beck's Founders Fridays, Glenn spoke with Andrew Allison, author of The Real George Washington and Earl Taylor regarding this great man.

Abraham Lincoln

Lincoln stands tall, figuratively and literally in our history as a man of great principle and unwavering leadership. Lincoln presided over immense internal turmoil and stood tall. From Lincoln's second inaugural:

With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.

Ronald Reagan

With the country drifting without leadership, Ronald Reagan took the Presidency with a firm plan of sweeping action to bring America back. Not only did he succeed militarily, he put pride back in the middle class and gave them a the keys to a vehicle for optimism, free market capitalism. At the wheel, Reagan's economic policies unleashed a 25 year bull market, raising in large measure the standard of living of all. Reagan is as relevant today as he was then. After all, government is not the answer to our problem, government is the problem.

I got to thinking. Foghorn Leghorn would be better than Obama, but with each of my top three Presidents having February birthdays, I wondered if any of the Republican 2012 hopefuls had birthdays during the month of February.

A Tour of the US Capitol with David Barton

It is unfortunately apparent that the history of The United States of America is being forgotten, and in many cases, rewritten.

It is our responsibility to re-engage and bring ourselves up to speed, since before we can aim to dictate the course of America going forward, we must understand how we got here.

David Barton is second to none in recounting our history. Do your own research, but do take in this video as Barton leads a group in the Capitol.

Divine Providence Restores Honor

It was a great day to be an American. Approximately half a million God fearing Patriots showed up at the National Mall in Washington D.C. at Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally. This was a time to pledge to return to the guiding principles our founding fathers set out for us, of which a part is restoring our relationship with our creator.

The day began with an unexpected flyover.



I was not able to attend the Restoring Honor rally, but was fortunate to attend Glenn Beck's American Revival in Orlando earlier this year. At the revival, three essential values, Faith, Hope and Charity, were promoted as the vehicle that can help restore honor and revive our country. During the show, an impromptu group sing of "Amazing Grace" took place. At the Restoring Honor rally, a singing of the classic hymn was scheduled.



I originally set out to be one of the 130,000 folks who would watch the event on Facebook, but settled in to view it on CSPAN, who thankfully, broadcast the event live.

Three individuals were presented awards for Faith, Hope & Chairty and three military heroes were recognized, including "The Lone Survivor", Marcus Latrell. Speakers from Sarah Palin to Dr. Alveda King spoke to the hearts of those in earshot. A new Black Robed Regiment, a collection of preachers from various areas of Faith, was introduced.









The event closed with a special prayer, led by Dave Roever, which was particulary moving.



The problems facing our country are quite significant, and I agree with Beck that any chance at recovery must be grounded in Americans regaining their individual values and principles of Faith, Hope & Charity. Accomplishing that feat will no doubt lead to the country regaining it's proper footing on the path our founding fathers laid out for us.

May God Bless Glenn, his staff, and those who helped present this inspring program. In this time of choosing, may we all grab our stick and restore honor! With a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

And yes, to all our Veterans, espcially our Vietnam Veterans, Welcome Home!

The American Revival

Although it was a lovely day here in beautiful downtown Orlando on Saturday, I spent the day with three friends at the UCF Arena in Orlando attending the Glenn Beck American Revival Tour, and it was truly a wonderful experience had by all.

The day focused on becoming reconnected with three distinct values that were integral building blocks of our founding fathers; faith, hope and charity.

David Barton began the day giving us a thorough history on the role faith played in the formation of our country, and how extensively the founding fathers referenced religion in their writings. Unfortunately, many are tyring to diminish the role of faith in the birth of America, and it was great to hear some keen insight on this vitally important subject.

The economics of the day are indeed critical as we are on an unsustainable path and are on the heels of adding a mind boggling entitlement program so expensive we ran out of zeros on the old HP12C. Economist David Buckner, of Columbia University in New York, discussed that in order for there to be hope, there must first be truth and we need to know the cold hard facts about our economic standing to take the correct paths going forward. A real no spin zone!

The Constitution is under attack and who better than Judge Andrew Napolitano of FOX News to offer a rousing perspective on how the intrusive governmental acts over time have eroded our rights as they were outlined in The Constitution. The Judge hit it out of the park and reiterated that our rights are given to us by our Creator and not by government, and free people are notably generous through the goodness of their heart and not by governmental force of hand.

Glenn Beck keynoted the day and was, as usual, tremendous. The day was not spent firebombing those in office, but rather outlining an educational foundation from which a course of action can be taken to regain the values and principles our founding fathers set out for us, which do not include strangling debt, a departure from faith, intrusive government and the erosion of our rights.

Faith, Hope & Charity

The American Revival Tour with Glenn Beck hits Orlando on Saturday. I agree with Glenn that the US Citizenry is under attack from within. I plan to play a role in thwarting those who tread against us tea party patriots.



Slamming the brakes on the transformation of America begins anew Saturday as we plot to restore America. I'll see you there.
