Evil Transcends Weaponry

On Friday, our nation was kicked in the gut by an unspeakable tragedy; a homegrown terrorist assault on our most prized representatives of the hope and promise of our United States; our beloved children. Twenty little angels were lost, and their families are deveastated and forever altered.

As my brother correctly stated on Friday evening, this attack on these innocent and helpless children carries a greater emotional pain for our citizens than the horrific events of September 11, 2001. To imagine the Christmas gifts that will not be opened is beyond heartbreaking.

As a Dad, and a proud American, I know my family joins millions around the world in praying for comfort for those who were directly affected by this unspeakable attack. A true act of evil.

Newtown looks like such a lovely place, and in the aftermath of the tragedy we learn of the heroic efforts of the staff at the school in their attempts to protect those little angels of students. The brave first responders also demonstrated an incredible level of professionalism. God Bless You All!

One thing I am quite clear on is that President Obama loves his two beautiful daughters, and he feels the pain of this tragedy like most all parents. It was an act of faith in many ways for parents across America to send our kids off to school this morning. "We can't tolerate this anymore," Obama said. Rarely am I in agreement with President Obama, but I concur that carnage of our citizens at soft targets around the country strongly suggests that America has some questions to answer.

Obama excels as Consoler and Chief, and his opening and closing comments at the service in Newtown last evening were surely heartfelt and meaningful as our nation weeps. However, in the middle of the speech Obama went on offense conveying how he will use the power of his office to regulate change, and I find it concerning. Will his effort bring out the post partisan leadership many who supported him have longed for, or will he utilize a crisis to obtain political victories only possible during times of tragedy.

While Obama engages America in welcomed rhetoric standing above, for the most part, engaging in the politics of this tragedy, his surrogates are on high octane offense. Former Obama COS Rahm Emanuel has called for a nationwide assault weapons ban, he of the "never let a crisis go to waste" gameplan. Over at CNN, Soledad Obrien, who can hardly contain her emotional support of Obama, has urged Obama to track people and firearms.  New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who literally wants to govern your life, has called for an enforceable assault weapons ban.  Over at MSNBC, Joe Scarborough, who claims to be the "resident" conservative, said Friday changed everything and has reversed course in the aftermath of the events and has changed his long held position on gun laws.

I am not a gun owner, although I have been considering taking the initial steps of becoming one. It is my right as an American. But taking in these comments, I can only conclude the left is obviously going after the guns; and those who own them, period.  Sadly, as the administration has changed the conversation by muddling the definitions of so many words, we must adequately define what would be considered an "assault" weapon prior to having an honest dialogue.

Perhaps some styles of military style weapons and "cop killer" ammunition are not reasonable for the citizens to own.  However, if this were to be recognized in a common sense debate would it be met as moving the Overton Window and taken as a step in winning political positions for the Democrats?  I suspect so, therefore any willingness to give any ground on the issue exhibiting common sense will not be given.

I am hopeful President Obama will step back and examine the entirety of these complex issues, which contrary to his surrogates calling for immediate action in strengthening gun control, is about far more than attacking the Second Amendment. After a touching speech after Representative Gabrielle Giffords was shot, Obama failed miserably to corral the divisive rhetoric he found inappropriate In fact, Obama stoked the fire on numerous occasions.  Often, the rhetoric of Obama offers optimism, but pessimism underlay his actions.

However, I am skeptical he will do so, as I do not find President Obama and his surrogates as honest brokers.  Just last week, actor Jamie Foxx, a big Obama supporter and friend, spoke of gleefully "killing all the white people" in his new movie.  About that rhetoric Mr. President?

While I am not a fan of commissions, a recommendation I heard last night to perhaps have retiring Senator Joe Lieberman (I:CT) to lead such an investigation seems to hold merit.  Many aspects need to be reviewed, inclusive of but not limited to mental illness, youngsters who place zero value on life, political correctness limiting God in our public discourse, child abuse, Hollywood and video games, which desensitize killing.

However, we must note that the individual who committed the crime is responsible for his actions, and those of us law abiding citizens should not be punished with a loss of liberty due to his reprehensible actions.

Freedom is not without high costs; however, if we are unable to adequately protect our children, we must examine the factors at play which prohibit that from happening and promptly address them.

President Obama has an opportunity here to lead in a meaningful way as our President.  Should Obama join his surrogates already in effort to seize the day in attacking the Second Amendment
implemented so our citizenry may be armed to thwart an oppressive and tyrannical government, I will join those is stiff opposition.

The Obama administration is among the most power grabbing administrations in history, closely resembling in many ways the FDR years in moving the Overton Window from liberty towards tyranny.  Evidence does not suggest they have a deep concern for constitutional rights, as Obama has proclaimed it an imperfect document.

Perhaps it would be wise to, once again, receive guidance during these times from Ronald Reagan:

Evil is always opportunistic, no matter what weapon. However, the power of God will rule the day. Our hearts bleed for those affected in Newtown, but evil will ultimately be defeated. We must all do our part to make it so.

We will continue to mourn with those in Newtown, and will forever remember those God has called home much too early.  God Bless those little angels lost, the brave school administrators who lost their lives, extended families and friends, the fine folks of Newtown and the United States of America.

A Lack of Civility

The pressure is building and the intensity is increasing in the war room these days.

No, I am not referring to the draft headquarters of the members of the National Football League in preparation for next months draft. Rather, the imploding presidency of Barack Obama.

By almost any measure, for most Americans, the first term of Obama has been abysmal. Just part of the miserable tale would be escorting the violation of contract law, the significant increasing of the national debt, smothering regulatory actions, divisive rhetoric, crony capitalism, seedy associations, wealth transformation; all accompanied by a staggering level of arrogance.

Obama is however leading by example in the fight to keep political rhetoric on a civil level.

In the aftermath of the most unfortunate shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, President Obama spoke at a service for those killed and injured. Obama spoke of curbing the rhetoric on the political front, hoping to establish a more civil political arena.

It was his friends on the left who were at the forefront of the vitriol. Within hours of the shooting, Sarah Palin was being blamed. Palin had issued a Facebook post targeting districts ripe for the taking by the GOP putting them in the cross hairs. For the left, this was inexcusable. Forget that Democrat operative Bob Beckel "invented" the targeting of districts decades back.

The Tea Party are labeled terrorists, not by some dimwit blogging in his underpants in his grandmothers basement, but by VP Joe Biden, who threw this out. Hard to recall a Vice President calling our citizens terrorists. Instances of this type of non sensible and divisive rhetoric on the left are endless. Recently, Rep. Maxine Waters (D:CA) said she wanted Tea Party members to "go straight to hell'. Lovely.

After attacking the Catholic Church and promoting a false argument about the GOP attacking women and decreasing their ability to obtain contraceptive tools, it seems the poll numbers for Obama have taken a significant hit. After all, contraception for women is readily available with very reasonable costs associated with obtaining it, and contrary to the Progressive narrative, nobody, and I mean nobody, is seeking to make any changes in this regard.

The first move of this campaign ploy was when George Stephanopoulos asked, out of left field, a question about contraception in an earlier GOP debate. The left is calculating, you have to give them that. In fact, these moves were well coordinated, with the help of former Obama communications director and self described Chairman Mao admirer Anita Dunn.

Given the poll numbers, the move has failed miserably. Good.

Prior to launching this failed strike, perhaps in anticipation of a presidential run by Sarah Palin, the movie Game Change was being produced. The movie script has ventured far from the book, in an effort discredit Palin and re-present yet another false narrative that she is an idiot. Furthermore, these efforts were in fact coordinated, in part with former Obama communications director and self described Chairman Mao fan Anita Dunn.

Civil discourse be damned when up against plummeting poll numbers. Obama, under his campaign arm, has issued a new attack to coincide with the release of Game Change with the following attack ad against Sarah Palin, who most unfortunately, is not running for office.

For the record, every comment made by Palin in the video is accurate. In fact, she is going easy on Obama. Sadly, many Americans are not ready to digest the degree of the truth.

Entertainer Bill Maher, a top left wing cheerleader, has unleashed countless attacks on Conservative women, most specifically Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. I am still puzzled as to why he is popular, but at any rate, any sensible individual would find his comments disgusting and not fit for discourse by responsible adults. Perhaps, like me, you may wonder what folks in the audience find laughable.

Maher has recently donated 1 million dollars to Obama's PAC. Therefore, Obama must not have issue with Maher and his cruel and
juvenile rhetoric. Get a load of Maher below.

In response to Obama's attack ad, Palin has asked that we discuss the issues of the day, the ones that are really concerning to our citizens. Record high unemployment would come to mind.

As the political process continues, I hope that any readers on the fence would step back from the issues from time to time and take notice of which group operates with an acceptable level of discourse and which demonstrates a lack of civility.

Conservatives can win on the playing field of ideas, and resorting to gimmicks and disrespecting those searching for answers is not part of the game plan. It is the left that could use a game change.

There You Have It

New Jersey is broke, and Christie is well on his way to fixing the problem. Forgetting that the left, in the aftermath of the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, called for reigning in divisive rhetoric, a union officer for AFSCME spent last weekend in Trenton labeling the Governor Adolph Christie. Equating austerity with exterminating people could possibly be a new low for the left, but if you closely behind the curtain, you will find many Mao following Communists.

Gail, a concerned citizen of the Garden State, speaks for many in attacking New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. She got both barrels back. Take a listen:

Although the debate is much larger, the teachers unions have found a sympathetic vehicle in teachers to promote the fight for their union activity and a move toward socialism. Workers of the world unite!

Millions of dollars are annually poured teaching, with results that are mediocre at best. Certainly, there are many public school systems doing a good job, but in aggregate they are inefficient and bleed cash. But, it is all about the kids, who are our future, and most everyone wants the best educational experience possible for these youngsters. Or so you would think.

The National Educators Association, who fights for teacher rights and fair compensation, would certainly be engaged in promoting school systems which create an environment of increasing scholastic achievement for each and every student. Maybe not!

For the NEA, it is about power, and the money. Much of the money is spent promoting progressive Democrats in our political system run amok, who are actually attempting to undermind the capitalist system.

Christie is right on target with the measures he is taking in New Jersey. Soon, as the balance sheet improves, those in Garden State will know who to thank. Once that job is complete, perhaps Christie can take his act on the road to clean up another mess, which I hope will begin its own cleansing in about 16 months.

Civility Masks Loss of Liberty

Wasn't it just lovely. In the aftermath of the nauseating attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D:AZ), during the State of the Union last night we had Democrats and Republicans sitting with one another. A grand evening.

And, we all got a chance to witness evidence that President Barack Obama, by far the most radical Commander in Chief America has ever elected, recognize the error in his socialist agenda and pivot to the center. After all, the resounding and humbling defeat he and his agenda took in the mid terms served notice. Obama even read up on Ronald Reagan during his most recent vacation.

Good Grief! Are you always in confusion, surrounded by illusion?

While all this renewed civility is being tossed around, America is fast losing much of her liberty!

Obama is not moving to the center. Quite the contrary, he is doubling down on his agenda of social justice through the transformation of wealth. For those in doubt, Mark Levin sizes it up.

As noted by Trevor Loudon over at New Zeal, a foretelling analysis was put forth by Mark Rudd, detailing pages of the socialist in chief's playbook.

Obama is a very strategic thinker. He knew precisely what it would take to get elected and didn't blow it. He used community organizing methods to mobilize a base consisting of many people who had never voted before or who regularly don't vote....But he also knew that what he said had to basically play to the center to not be run over by the press, the Republicans, scare centrist and cross-over voters away. He made it.

You would have thought the emergence of his black liberation theology minister Jeremiah Wright would have alerted the masses. Or perhaps, letting the real agenda slip out in condescending Joe the Plumber.

Really, what's it like inside the bubble?

Rudd continued This is no stupid guy... Had any of the stupid Republicans read his books, they never could have said, "We don't know who this guy is." You know every thought he's ever had.

How true! If anyone had read Obama's books, it is easy to recognize what he meant by transforming America. Dinesh D'Souza writes of The Roots of Obama's Rage.

While the telepromter in chief continues to fool many with the media in full tow, acting as though he has lost on many of his targeted ideas of gevernmental control, you must watch the other hand.

Under executive order, no cloaking device is necessary as The EPA forges forward with climate change policy using regulation and taxation while the FCC, under net neutrality, is poised to control the dispensing of information. Investing in cost prohibitive measures, such as education and green energy initiatives, is code for more stimulus in an effort to, you guessed it, transfer wealth.

It must be stopped. Help is on the way, in the form of The Little River Band, who hit Hard Rock Orlando Thursday night, and Representative Paul Ryan, the smartest man in the room:

Senseless Act Fuels Senseless Politics

Those of us Americans who live in the world of sanity are still attempting to put our arms the senseless tragedy of the assassination attempt on Representative Gabrielle Giffords, (D:AZ), which left her gravely wounded.

Representative Giffords was holding an event called "Congress on Your Corner" at a Safeway grocery store in northwest Tuscon when a deranged imbecile shot her in the head at point blank range. The gunman killed six others, including Federal Judge John Roll, and wounded another dozen or so.

Congresswoman Giffords was known as a moderate, blue dog Democrat who is well respected on both sides of the isle. I have seen a dozen or so interviews with Rep. Giffords, most notably during somewhat frequent appearances on FOX News "On The Record", hosted by Greta Van Susterin, and have always found her to be principled and respectful.

Although Giffords was not considered a controversial public servant, the Police have indicated Giffords was targeted. Giffords was a supporter of the Obama health care overhaul, but fought the administration hard on border security issues. At this point, it is unclear if any of these or other political positions played a role in the assassination attempt.

In a most unfortunate turn of events, although regrettably expected, many on the far left wing have turned to throwing blame at every conservative political opponent they can think of, from the Tea Party to Rush Limbaugh.

MSNBC's Keith Oblermann immediately played the political card and assessed blame:

Sarah Palin, in an effort to identify supporters of Obamacare who were up for election to be challenged, utilized a map of the United States which had targets placed on the geographical map of the locations of these members of Congress. This illustrative chart, retrospectively, was ill advised in the design. To be clear, no sane individual or group thought the bulls eye to signal the literal action of shooting someone, and everyone knows it.

Olbermann talks about Rep. Allen West speaking of not letting his opponent come out of his home. I recall, it was union thugs on the left that actually terrorized the family of a Bank of America executive, with a child at home, and prohibited them for leaving their home.

Glenn Beck regularly makes the case for non-violence on his radio and television programs.

Olbermann's piece is quick to place blame on conservatives, but curiously left out rhetoric of President Barack Obama. Over his first term, Obama spoke of political opponents saying "They bring a knife, we bring a gun", told Latinos "We are going to punish our enemies" and vowed to fight Republicans with "hand to hand combat".

NY Times Economist Paul Krugman, veering from his supposed area of expertise, has blamed the right as well, suggesting they create a climate of hate. As usual, Krugman is out of line and completely wrong.

For what it is worth, most reports identify the killer, reported to allegedly be Jared Loughner, to be on the left side of the political isle.

What happened in Arizona yesterday is an attack on America, our freedoms and our system of government. The fact that in our political discourse an elected official is not safe from physical harm is something that cannot be tolerated.

Perhaps most sickening regarding the tragedy in Arizona was that a beautiful 9 year old girl, Christina Green, was among those murdered. Recently elected to student council, young Christina had an interest in the political arena and was taken by a neighbor to meet Rep. Giffords. The Green family is like many families in America, with Christina and her mother being supporters of President Obama and her father on the opposite side. Christina, ironically born on September 11, 2001, hoped to attend Penn State.

Perhaps, from both sides of the isle, we can think of Christina as we seek to conduct our political differences with civil discourse and respect. Contrary to media reports, every single Tea Party event I attended did just that. It is for our children, like Christina, that we are so passionate about stopping the transformation of America.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of the unspeakable tragedy. After proper travel through our legal system, I demand the perpetrator be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I hope he is executed, not after 20 years of appeals, but six weeks from Tuesday.
