Appalling and Dishonorable

Texas Congressman Louis Gohmert told One America News that some very familiar names pressured members of the House Freedom Caucus to rethink who they would endorse for Speaker.

“Promises were made and as I understand it, our friend Senator Jim DeMint, now head of the Heritage Foundation was making calls persuading…really shocked me. I don’t guess I was so surprised that Newt Gingrich was making calls behind the scenes to Freedom Caucus members to tell them, ‘you gotta cave and go with Paul,’” Gohmert said.

Backdoor promises that are made, crossing the aisle to collaborate with those who plot the demise of our nation as founded and the elitism of the ruling class to govern above the head of the people they are elected to represent is appalling and dishonorable.

Shame on former Sen. DeMint of the Heritage Foundation for this betrayal of our founding principles as Ryan pledges to govern outside of the people, unwilling to have his authority challenged.

We continue to support Rep. Dan Webster (R:FL) for Speaker, and extend our greatest appreciation to Rep. Gohmert for keeping up the fight for freedom!

Slow Creep of Socialized Medicine

In the past, way back, like a year ago, both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, were supporters of a mandate to force the purchase of individual health care. Pam Bondi, Attorney General of Florida, expresses how Mitt Romney will implement a state run system of mandated health care. Take a listen:
While many claim to be Reaganites, especially Gingrich, back in the early 60's Reagan stood firm against the slow creep of socialism through individual health care mandates. Take a listen:

Romney does not claim any association with Reagan, problematic to be sure. Gingrich did carry buckets of water during Reagan's presidency, but unfortunately, he has been for the health care mandate for over 20 years.

Free market capitalism is in favor of the private sector providing such health care options. Where there is demand, there will be supply, with risk appropriately measured and priced into the yield curve.

AP reports Rick Santorum is tired and back in Pennsylvania for the Florida primary. Too bad, since he has been outspoken against the implementation of socialized medicine.

Florida voters, it is time to send a big message. Join me in doing so!

A Sleeping Lion

The Florida primary is Tuesday, and once again, I will be choosing from a less than desirable list of candidates.

Among the four left, I find the choice to be clear, selecting a conservative with fiscal discipline and a comprehensive command of the global war on terror, and that choice is Rick Santorum.

Unlike Gingrich or Romney, Santorum is not a supporter of national health care and global warming, the two main vehicles for the transformation of wealth. Implementing policy regarding these two items will further lead our country to socialism.

Santorum is the limited government candidate and has a superior understanding of the grave dangers we face in the middle east to that of the other candidates.

I can think of many preferable candidates to Santorum, but they are not on my ballot. But among those on the ballot, my choice is the Nittany Lion from Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum.

Guard Against Gingrich As Gatekeeper

It is a big night on the Iowa-Nebraska border in Sioux City tonight, where the final GOP debate before the Iowa caucus will be held. The lovely Megyn Kelly is warming up.

The fallout from what seems like 40 previous debates has only eliminated two candidates, Herman Cain and Tim Pawlenty. Beginning with Michele Bachmann and most recently with Newt Gingrich, each candidate has enjoyed time at the top of the polls at some point, except of course for Jon Hunstman, who may not be aware of the fact he is a Scoop Jackson Democrat.

Gingrich is an interesting fellow, who generally speaking, I appreciate. Gingrich gets it on many issues Obama has no clue on, including free trade, Occupy Wall Street, the hatred facing Israel and the threat of Islamic terrorists. Descriptions of Newt as an idea factory are seemingly reasonable, and he is top of the class from a historical perspective, with the latter being where he and I will part company.

However, if someone who to ask me who I considered the greatest President of the 20th century, without spending a nano-second of thought, I would proudly announce Ronald Reagan as my easy choice. This is somewhat surprisingly not the case for Newt. Take a listen:

Oh my. But, it gets worse. Gingrich is also a big fan of Woodrow Wilson:

Forget that Gingrich, a self described Teddy Roosevelt disciple, was at odds with the Tea Party in supporting a big government candidate recently in NY23, jumped in opposition against Rep; Paul Ryan and his Roadmap for America, and is on the wrong side of global warming, his admiration of these Progressive Presidents is a real deal breaker.

In fact, global warming is the vehicle for the largest big government expansion in history through regulatory control on pollution, energy usage and development, food consumption and human behavior. It does not get any more big government than that.

Certainly, one would have thought we learned what not to do through economic governance in he aftermath of the Great Depression as appropriately highlighted this week in Investors Business Daily. Refraining from expansive government intervention, taxation and regulation would be central to the lessons learned, so electing a big government "Teddy Roosevelt" Republican Progressive in the form of Newt Gingrich, who speaks in admiration of Woodrow Wilson and FDR, following the abysmal Obama administration, is not a direction I favor to say the very least.

On the other hand, if it comes down to Obama versus Newt, mark me down for Gingrich.

The Long Knives

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann roared out of the gate in the GOP presidential sweepstakes by winning the Iowa straw poll, which proved a knockout punch for fellow Minnesota candidate Tim Pawlenty.

Out came the long knives.

Don't blame it all on those intellectually challenged Democrats. Sharpened knives from the Progressives is what is at foot here, and regrettably this includes the Republican establishment, often referred to as RHINO's or Rockefeller Republicans. They have no interest in a Conservative woman who is a favorite of the Tea Party. After all, these folks are Progressives.

Bachmann got firebombed, complete with a hit piece cover story by Newsweek magazine. Add in a few gaffes on the campaign trail, and being labeled "crazy" by the lame stream media and down went the numbers.

Texas Governor Rick Perry jumped in the race, a Conservative with a great track record on job creation. In actual fact, Perry did not need the media to derail his campaign, thanks to some very poor debate efforts. Even so, he got hit on several fronts.

After all this carnage, former Godfathers Pizza Chairman Herman Cain got tremendous traction. Cain is very charismatic, and he unleashed a bold plan to reconstruct our inefficient tax system to rave reviews. Although Cain has been employed in several high profile capacities, his time at the National Restaurant Association supsiciously brought out of the woodwork four women accusing him of sexual harassment. Cain has suffered in the polls, as doubt has been created. Doubt can be most destructive, as brilliantly described in the 2005 award winning Broadway play by John Patrick Shanley.

Enter Newt Gingrich, the smartest man in the room. Newt readily admits he carries pounds of baggage, some deserved and some not. At any rate, with Gingrich out front, where will the knife come from?

Freddie Mac.

Gingrich consulted Freddie Mac, for a fee if you can imagine that, and this has the media in a tailspin. Given the problems to our economy caused by the back holes known as Fannie and Freddie, the media has concluded that folks who consulted these GSE's are eliminated from consideration of our highest office. Only if you are a Republican that is.

Never mind, nothing to see here, that several key figures in the Obama administration have very suspect backgrounds running, not consulting, Fannie and Freddie. See the following:

The New York Times David Brooks, who is a Republican impostor, describes James Johnson's relationship with Fannie Mae. Bloomberg Busninessweek outlines Franklin Raines story. Former Obama COS Rahm Emanuel was Director of Freddie Mac during scandal, reports ABC News. Peter Schwiezer's new book "Throw Them All Out" alleges insider trading. Jamie Gorelick, rumored to under consideration by Obama for Attorney General, is appropriately labeled the Mistress of Disaster, in part due to her role as Vice Chairman of Fannie Mae.

Michele Bachmann has said that the media is choosing the Republican candidate for 2012. Thus far, Congresswoman Bachmann is nothing short of correct.

The progressives, both Republican and Democrat, are carving up the playing field so each side fields a candidate that allows the game to continue to be played. Playing games is exactly what the electorate in this country is tired of, but it is important to note the establishment of both of these parties is not interested in what the electorate thinks, just expanding control over them.

Seeking a candidate who is an ejection from the system is the most attractive in my view, and that type of candidate is who they will stop at just about nothing to prohibit from winning. Think outside the box, and do not let the media poison your mind while these candidates, each far superior to Obama, stand in the line of fire.

The Road to Recovery

The GOP field of candidates has been put under green to begin the process of finding the candidate to defeat the the anti-American tyrant who is presiding under the unparalleled decline of our nation.

I have been asked for some thoughts on the field, so much like the folks over at Political Derby, I'll handicap the field in order of my preference, not who I think will be the nominee or who would be able to win.

Contrary to the mainstream media, this is a strong field and each of the candidates would be far superior to Obama. So would Foghorn Leghorn, Heath Barkley or Jim Rockford.

1. Michele Bachmann--- Unlike Obama, she would lead from the front, not the rear. Bachmann is former federal tax attorney, real estate investor and Congressional leader of the Tea Party. Bachmann is a friend to free markets and well recognizes the motives of Obama's oppression.

2. Rick Santorum---Santorum got trounced in his home state by speaking the truth nobody wanted to hear. Santorum is clear about the threat of Islamic terrorism and is sound across the board.

3. Herman Cain---A strong business background without having held public office is a major plus given the antics we commonly see in DC. The former Godfathers Pizza CEO's line of attack in solving our nations lengthy issues resonates, and his experience at the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank under Thomas Hoening cover the ever so important financial angle.

4. Mitt Romney---The establishment choice, Romney should really have won in 2008. Few can match his business experience, and the former governor knows how to govern. There is lot to like with Romney, and he can no doubt win if he gets there. He does have big issues, however, with respect to Romenycare and global warming.

5. Tim Pawlenty---Pawlenty is nothing if not solid. He well could be the last guy standing and has demonstrated his ability to govern and make measureable progress in a blue state. Pawlenty also has global warming issues, and a flirtation with some Sharia law tolerance.

6. Newt Gingrich---Newt is well described as an idea factory and knows government better than most. For all his intelligence, he departs often from the Reagan principles he claims to hold dear. Attacking the Ryan Roadmap and supporting a progressive lefty in NY 23 come to mind, not to mention a global warming commercial with Nancy Pelosi.

7. Ron Paul---While everyone was snickering at him in 2008, he turned out to be correct on a slew of items. Paul has the FED figured out, and is a leading mouthpiece on the damage monetizing the debt is doing to our country. Paul is outside the box on many other issues, relegating him to remaining a horse fly on the back of overspending progressives on both side of the isle.

Sarah Palin seems content to sit 2012 out, comfortable in hammering Obama at very turn. Rick Perry looks like he is about to jump in, and although he tends to govern left of his campaign rhetoric, he has the border issue in his back pocket to hammer Obama on. If in, both would immediately contend with Bachmann for the top spot.

Jon Huntsman jumped in Tuesday, announcing from New Jersey with the backdrop of the Statue of Liberty in similar fashion to when Reagan announced in 1980. Hunstman once called Obama a remarkable leader. Thank you for coming.

The media loves Huntsman, thus informing the GOP of who to pick to lose in 2012. Huntsman also declared he will pick up where John McCain left off in defeat in conducting a civil campaign.

In his brilliance, Rush Limbaugh spent much of the day Tuesday hammering Huntsman, and much of the other GOP candidates, for listening to consultants who think it would be damaging to attack Obama personally, only his policies. For all those who think this is Reaganesque, Limbaugh took us back to 1980 to hear Reagan blast Jimmy Carter.

America hangs in the balance. Grab the Reagan playbook and run with it and make Obama a one term President. Hit Barack Obama square in the jaw from every unguarded agnle, from his associations to his treatment of our allies to his utter failure in economic principles to his arrogance in operating outside the Congress. In fact, just quote Reagan and replace Carter with Obama and go with throttle up! The time is now. Right now!

Early Exit Stage Left

The 2012 candidacy for the GOP nomination of Newt Gingrich (R:GA) is over. An early exit, stage left.

On Sunday, Gingrich was a featured guest on NBC's Meet The Press, and offered the following comments in speaking of the Path to Prosperity put forth by Paul Ryan (R:WI):

I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering,” Gingrich said speaking of Ryan’s plan. “I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate.”

Many were intrigued by the candidacy of Gingrich, and open to potentially supporting him as he has appeared to have matured and grown since his days as Speaker of the House. Certainly, Gingrich is a fountain of ideas and his work in and knowledge of the arena of US history is phenomenal.

With his comments attacking Ryan and his plan, Gingrich has removed himself from consideration by most conservatives, and almost certainly any Tea Party Patriots. Byron York, of The Washington Examiner, wrote of the comments former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett put forth on his nationally syndicated morning talk radio show. York reported what I heard live as Secretary Bennett said the comments were "an unforgivable mistake, in my judgment" and that Gingrich "has taken himself out of serious consideration for the [2012] race."

To quote The Fonz, correct-a-mundo!

On my scorecard, I did not have Gingrich ranked high, but I eagerly awaited the wide array of ideas I anticipated he would interject into the debate. Instead, he is out in Howard Dean fashion.

Perhaps this is a wake up call for other GOP current or potential candidates. We do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem, principally due to the rising entitlement wave. Created long ago with FDR and advanced by LBJ, the entitlements of the past eroding the financial health of this country. Under this wreckless administration exponentially expanding entitlements, inclusive of the new health care legislation, we are heading toward financial ruin.

Free market capitalism, not government programs, will lead the way back to prosperity. Paul Ryan is a leader, the only elected official with the guts to tackle the problem of entitlements. Unfortunately, most Republicans are distancing themselves from Ryan and his plan, for political gain.

Among the critical items on my short list in potentially supporting a candidate in the GOP primary is support of the Ryan plan. Many conservatives and Tea Party patriots would agree. The financial position of the country is in a critical stage, and we demand, since we are all tightening our belts, that it be immediately dealt with. Those who want to dance around the issue and not stand with Rep. Ryan will learn that they cannot hide from us. We surround you, and we will dispose of you, primary by primary.

Newt Gingrich now knows, having been immediately shown the exit stage left with a blown engine before his campaign even got the tire pressure up.

West Swinging Big Stick

Florida Congressman Allen West recently visited with FOX News Greta Van Susteren on her show "On The Record" and spoke the truth in calling out the Thug in Chief, President Obama. Take a listen:

In my estimation, West is right on target in his assessment of President Obama. A low level socialist agitator indeed! I appreciate West speaking out, and I wonder why many of the potential GOP candidates are refraining form doing so.

The President continuously dodges the truth, uses Sal Alinsky concepts in his treatment of those in opposition to him and takes actions which are in contrast to his public statements. He is simply disgraceful, and should be soundly defeated in the 2012 campaign.

Speaking of 2012, a recent Gallup poll indicated a tie among potential GOP contenders between Mike Huckabee and Donald Trump.

Mike Huckabee, 16
Donald Trump, 16
Mitt Romney, 13
Sarah Palin, 10
Ron Paul, 6
Newt Gingrich, 6
Michele Bachmann, 4
Mitch Daniels, 3
Tim Pawlenty, 3
Rick Santorum, 2
Haley Barbour, 2
Jon Huntsman, 1
Gary Johnson
Herman Cain

Charles Krauthammer has weighed in on 2012 as well, and I share his holding of Paul Ryan in high regard.

Among these contenders, for me, at this juncture, I'll throw Palin, Bachmann and Santorum in my "A" group. I think Allen West joins fellow Floridian Marco Rubio on the list of future stars on the political horizon. West is not playing games, rather focusing on the truth, which has no agenda. This is the type of individual I hope emerges victorious politically.

Out of the Fog Blows A Horn

Tim Pawlenty is in. Newt Gingrich is ready. Real estate mogul Donald Trump is creating quite a stir.

The list of potential challengers to a second Obama term is long, and given the rapidly deteriorating status of our once great nation, it well should be. Although the bench is lengthy, many in the mainstream media contend the list lacks quality contenders. This is far from true, as is most of the "news" you get from these lemmings. However, you could probably grab someone from seat 32 row 22 of dugout section 216 of the next home game for the Kansas City Royals and improve on Obama.

In fact, I have been touting such a noteworthy character.

I mentioned him in my blog post "Water Hazard a Top Flite Crisis" back in June of 2010. In August of 2010, in my post "Locked Out", I said give him the key! Just a few weeks ago, I again singled him out in my post "Happy Presidents Day" He was recently discussed on The Glenn Beck Program!

Now, for real, it looks like he is positioning himself and becoming a star all over again.

Foghorn Leghorn 2012!!!!! An improvement, I say, an improvement indeed. Almost anyone with any common sense would be. Let's get to work!

A New American Revolution

Indeed, elections have consequences. We are two years into the Obama administration and in almost every measure, it has been a historic failure.

Obamabots will point to what they consider successes, such as the health care bill and the stimulus package. Considering, as indicated by a series of poll results, the majority of Americans are against both actions, it seems clear that these are not successes but failures.

Promised transparency instantly evaporated. An appraisal of the down low dirty dealing necessary to pass the health care bill indicates a disregard for principled leadership, and evidence suggests that Obama is governing on his own Progressive mindset and against the will of the American people.

With Obama's transformation of America in full gear, it did not come as a surprise that Americans who believe in the first principles and free market capitalism almost immediately rose up to stand firmly against this attack on our values and principles.

Among the movements born out this assault were the 9-12 groups and the Tea Party movement, which grew into an election altering mass. The growing number of Americans that align with these groups, and those appalled at Obama and his arrogant thugocracy are about to be heard. November 2 is fast approaching, and it is near time to swing a big stick at the ballot box.

Americans voted for change, but not to change America. A coming landslide will take many who helped this progressive transformation down, but the effort to cleanse our governing houses will unfortunately be far from over. Too many in Washington, on both sides, lack respect for small business working America and embrace the power and progressive policies that have been slow creeping for decades.

Ronald Reagan once said "We could say they spend like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors. Drunken Sailors are spending their OWN money". Obviously, this mindset went on steroids in the first half of the Obama administration, and in part due to this lack respect of the citizenry, A Battle for America is looming, one free market capitalists are prepared to win. Our founders would want it that way.

I live in the south, and I'll take some sugar with my TEA!

Locked Out

Unless you are a die hard progressive, the news is all bad at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. No time like the present to have a mainstream media arm of the administration come out with some good news to reinforce the public on the strength of the messiah, President Obama.

Politics Daily, a lefty Internet operation of AOL, presented the findings of a study by American University by Professor Allan Licthman. Lichtman had put together a formula to judge the outcome of the popular vote in our Presidential elections. This formula is based on thirteen factors and indicates President Obama is "guaranteed" to win in 2012. Well, why even hold the 2012 Presidential election?

President Obama is quite familiar with American University, where the Liberal Lion Ted Kennedy endorsed his presidential campaign and where he spoke at earlier last month, calling for comprehensive immigration reform.

Just for the fun of it, I am going to review each key and its commentary.

Outlining the Keys:

•KEY 1 (Party Mandate): After the midterm elections, the incumbent party holds more seats in the U.S. House of Representatives than it did after the previous midterm elections. (FALSE)

FALSE. A no brainer here. November will be a historical bloodbath for the Democrats.

KEY 2 (Contest): There is no serious contest for the incumbent-party nomination. (TRUE)

I am going to go with false FALSE on this one. With the implosion of the Obama administration, Hillary, who is on a time table, is lurking in the shadows.

KEY 3 (Incumbency): The incumbent-party candidate is the sitting president. (TRUE)

I'll go with TRUE. However, the possibility of Obama resigning is very small, but it is higher than you think percentage wise.

• KEY 4 (Third party): There is no significant third party or independent campaign. (TRUE)

Again, this is TRUE as we sit here today. However, if the Republican Party does not embrace the Tea Party, and given recent comments by former Senator Trent Lott (R:MS) that is in question, the Tea Party could emerge as a third party.

• KEY 5 (Short-term economy): The economy is not in recession during the election campaign. (TRUE)

Given the policies implemented by Obama, the economy will continue to be very poor. Obama is hammering small business, raising taxes and uncertainty and increasing regulation. Should the Republicans gain control in the Congress and thwart some of Obama's policies, things could get better but the housing overhang will still remain. The country may not technically be in recession, but it sure will feel like it. So, FALSE.

• KEY 6 (Long-term economy): Real per-capita economic growth during the term equals or exceeds mean growth during the previous two terms. (FALSE)

FALSE. Not even close. Although Obama says the worst is past us, it is not.

• KEY 7 (Policy change): The incumbent administration effects major changes in national policy. (TRUE)

FALSE. Well, actual fact Obama has. The healthcare bill passed, and while he thinks this is a success, the actions taken to get the bill passed were borderline unethical and were against the will of the American people by any reasonable poll looked at. Obama also insists on an energy policy Americans are against and looks to be backdooring an amnesty policy for illegal immigrants, another move agsint the wind of the people.

So, it is technically true but will be seen as false.

• KEY 8 (Social unrest): There is no sustained social unrest during the term. (TRUE)

FALSE. Have you seen what is going on in Greece? Well, it is coming here. Furthermore, a few arms of the administration, ACORN, the NAACP and SEIU, are already creating disturbances all over the place.

Right out of the Cloward and Piven playbook, the system is being overwhelmed which leads to civil unrest, opening the door for the public to crave someone to fix the problem. The plan is for this to be the government, who created the problem to start with.

• KEY 9 (Scandal): The administration is untainted by major scandal. (TRUE)

FALSE. There are several scandals out there, and some, including ACORN voter fraud, already exposed. There are other potential scandals out there, including Fannie Mae, Shore Bank and the failure to secure the oil leak. Also, there may be more to this Shirley Sherrod story than first thought.

• KEY 10 (Foreign/military failure): The administration suffers no major failure in foreign or military affairs. (TRUE)

FALSE. The apology tour Obama continues on is disgraceful. While he is taking credit for the success in Iraq, which is appalling given he opposed the effort every step of the way, Afghanistan is not going well under his leadership and Iran, the head of the snake, getting nuclear weapons is a major problem, one Obama does not appear engaged on.

• KEY 11 (Foreign/military success): The administration achieves a major success in foreign or military affairs. (FALSE)

I am in agreement here, FALSE. Obama is waffling hard on all foreign policy fronts. Iran is a major issue, and while Obama votes present, Israel may take the lead and Obama will look, and is, weak and it will be obvious to anyone.

• KEY 12 (Incumbent charisma): The incumbent-party candidate is charismatic or a national hero. (FALSE)

This is TRUE. While Obama is about the farthest from a national hero of any of our Presidents, he is charismatic to most of the populous. I find him arrogant and thin skinned, but most Americans like him personally although they are beginning to hate his policies.

• KEY 13 (Challenger charisma): The challenging-party candidate is not charismatic or a national hero. (TRUE)

FALSE. Define charisma. Mitt Romney and his economic background could sound like sweet music to the masses by the time the election roles around. Sarah Palin is charming and does represent a common sense perspective Americans are thirsty for. Newt Gingrich has a historical perspective that engages many and Mike Huckabee is quite likeable. And then there is Chris Christie!

I think Foghorn Leghorn will look solid when compared to Obama by then.

When five or fewer of the "keys" are false, the incumbent President wins. The writer has four for Obama, signaling a win. I have ten false, which means Obama is sent packing.

For the sake of our country, this cannot happen soon enough.

Palin Obviously Petrifies The Left

Former GOP Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin had some publicly scheduled events over the weekend which would likely put her in the media spotlight, and as you might suspect, given their fear of Ms. Palin, the left was ready with a coordinated response.

Palin was scheduled to be a part of an Autism event in upstate New York over the weekend and was to attend a GOP dinner in Washington on Monday evening. While an estimated 20K were in attendance in upstate NY, an indication her popularity, she did not speak at the GOP dinner, where Newt Gingrich headlined.

During this period, Palin was cleared of the ethics complaints that bombarded her during the campaign, and the mainstream media (MSN) failed to bring that story to you. Also, America Online, who funds a political blog called Politics Daily, published an article covering the allegation as fact by a Huffington Post writer that Sarah Palin plagiarized Gingrich in a recent speech honoring Michael Reagan. Here are a few examples as published in the article:

Palin: We have to remember that Ronald Reagan never won any arguments in Washington. He won the arguments by resonating with the American people.

Gingrich/Shirley: Reagan never won an argument in Washington. Reagan won his arguments in the country with the American people.

This was Palin's backbone on the campaign trail. She, like Reagan, was a Washington outsider who has little regard for big government and the argument by Reagan resonated with the American people.

Palin: Remember this? His vision for the Cold War? We win, they lose.

Gingrich/Shirley: On the inevitability of the Soviet Union, Reagan responded with a then shocking vision for the Cold War -- "we win, they lose."

Reagan did launch this classic and it is thankfully often quoted. Even Bobby Bowden fired out a version of it when he said "if they don't score, we win". So simple a caveman can do it! (Rut row, better credit GEICO and disclose I am a shareholder of GEICO's parent company Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B:NYSE)

Palin: First, I think what we're going to learn tonight via Michael [Reagan] is that Ronald Reagan's ideas were the right ideas and all we have to do is look back at his record, his economic record and his national security record to know that his ideas were right.

Gingrich/Shirley: What should Americans learn from this remarkable man and his remarkable Presidency?... The "right" ideas really matter (the left was wrong and Reagan was right about virtually every major public policy issue and the historic record is clear for those willing to look at it).

Since the Obama administration is following the policies of the Carter administration catastrophe, it is prudent to review Reagan's historic record for what does work in times of crisis. I have written about it on the blog, HERE, HERE & HERE.

Certainly, the writers of these articles are free to hold whatever opinion they like, but I think in reviewing the allegations, it is quite a stretch to raise up the prospect of plagiarism. And, given the timeliness of the article, political motives were obviously a factor as the left appears to be quite fearful of Palin since they feel compelled to launch an attack on her whenever she steps out on the national scene .

In fact, in another Huffington Post piece, writer Shannyn Moore penned the following:

(M. Reagan) He thinks Sarah Palin is the future of his father's party.

I can only hope. I may be the only person who watched Sarah Palin give a speech tonight in Anchorage, and President Obama deliver his live to the world from Cairo.

Palin's message; "We Win! You Lose! "

Obama's message; "The people of the world can live together in peace. We know that is God's vision. Now, that must be our work here on Earth. Thank you. And may God's peace be upon you."

I have political whiplash.

Oh my, the lack of depth in International Relations in that assessment is staggering. I found Obama's speech in Cairo on his apology tour a disgrace. It's tough to live in peace with people who want entire countries exterminated. Appeasement has never worked, and Obama is naive to think it will now. Our enemies sense weakness, and unless something changes, the geopolitical climate will continue to worsen.

Anyhow, here is Sean Hannity interviewing Palin yesterday on FOX:

She told you so!

Pelosi Pontificates

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, responding to President Bush lifting the executive order to prohibit drilling in the outer continental shelf (OTS), offers that the President is a "total failure".

Talk about the pot calling kettle! Her tenure as Speaker may well go down in history as least productive in history. While hearings have been taking place to put on a public spectacle of the oil executives, the Pelosi led congress has offered nothing in terms of realistic solutions, has blocked efforts to drill, failed to support the clearance of permitted drilling, bemoaned speculators and dismissed promising efforts, like ANWR. She recently penned a letter to Bush urging him to release portions of the strategic reserve, a naive and dangerous idea given the geopolitical turmoil we currently find ourselves engaged in. Former Speaker Gingrich, a private citizen, has far eclipsed Pelosi in efforts to find solutions.

She claims Bush has lost all credibility on the war ( very strong performance if you ask me), the economy (none of these problems are at his feet) and energy (He was tardy in calling you out for sure).

Other issues plaguing her, not withstanding the food service which went private after squandering millions of our dollars, center around the party of corruption, her party. The House Banking committee is of immediate concern. Chuck Schumer ignites a run on a bank from his careless at best media relations, Christopher Dodd is overseeing a bailout of the subprime crisis in which he got a preferred loan and is consulting with the parent of that company in crafting the legislation. You just want to pull the hair out of your head and set yourself on fire.

For her to chastise President Bush given her complete incompetence is mind boggling. She should be embarrassed, and if she had any dignity, should resign. A deadline is looming on September 30 to extend the congressional ban on the OTS. At that time , watch her fold as her weakness will be on display.

Want Change? Drill Now!

Famed Texas oil man T. Boone Pickens discusses the oil industry and the runaway price per barrel with Fox Business Chief Neil Cavuto.

Someone alert the stupid police in Washington we got a problem. Since members of the US Congress appear willing to do absolutely nothing about this issue, what can we do other than grabbing our pitch forks? How about turning to a guy who continues to exhibit leadership, Newt Gingrich. Under his wonderful platform, American Solutions, he has introduced a new program.

I am all for it! Although T Boone forgot more when it comes to oil than I'll ever know, I continue to think oil is a bubble. Even so, our dependency on evil dictators is not only bad economics, but leaves us with an unnecessary vulnerability in the global war on terror. Remember that little skirmish?

Global War on Terror: Gingrich Speaks Out

In a recent appearance before the National Press Club, former Speaker of The House Newt Gingrich proclaims himself "deeply worried" about the Global War on Terror and its consequences.

It sure seems most of America is asleep at the wheel on this subject. I would have thought 9-11 provided the wake up call.
