Trimming The Bushes

The Bush family has a long legacy in politics in this nation.

Prescott Bush was a Senator from Connecticut, which heavily influenced his son, George Herbert Walker Bush, who became the 41st President of the United States after serving eight years as Vice President under President Ronald Reagan and had perhaps the most distinguished career of any modern day politician.

George H. W. Bush's son, Jeb Bush, currently running for the GOP nomination for president in 2016, was a very successful two term governor of the state of Florida.  Of course, another son, George W. Bush, after a successful two terms as governor of the state of Texas, became the 43rd President of the United States.

Overall, while many disagree with differing policies of the each of the Bush's during their tenures of governance, generally speaking most citizens have a favorable opinion of each of the men and their family.  I fit in that category.

As a Floridian, I though Jeb Bush performed very well as governor of my state. I have overall favorable of the presidencies of both 41 and 43, while I would not consider either among the top presidents in our history.  I am not supporting Jeb in 2016 for the GOP nomination.

The Bush family usually stays above the fray of political for the most part.  George W. Bush has had not one word of criticism of Barack Obama, who seemingly weekly blamed W for every problem he encountered.

But, sadly, over time, the Bush family has felt compelled to bash other republicans.  Former First Lady Barbara Bush had spoke strongly of her distaste for Sarah Palin.  Jeb Bush discussed how the GOP should move away from the policies of Ronald Reagan.

Unlike many, while we had areas of disagreement, we have always held George W. Bush in high regard.

Therefore, from a man of decency who has declined to comment on a president leading our nation to destruction, we were puzzled on his unprompted voiced negativity regarding Sen. Ted Cruz. Glenn Beck has a theory on this, on which we place a high degree of accuracy. On the issue in question, we strongly side with Sen. Cruz, and expansion into the area of question reveals some troubling avenues of concern, inclusive of immigration.

Although I did not really recognize it at the time, both Bush presidents can be classified as progressive, where the idea of government expansion in the lives of the citizenry, something Reagan acted against, is welcomed.  In fact, given the families close relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton, it would appear they have little problem with the US traveling the same track, just think they can do a btter jog of maneuvering the levers.

It appears, given where Jeb currently stands in the race for the 2016 GOP nomination, the progressive blueprint the Bush family has embraced to political success has been discovered by GOP primary voters and appears to be being soundly discarded.

At least we can recognize that the Bush family are good people, as evidenced by the actions of George W. Bush just today, who on this Veterans Day, visited a group of veterans who were visiting his presidential library in Dallas.

God Bless all our Veterans! We all greatly appreciate your service and sacrifice!

Harsh Hope & Change

The level of arrogance in the oval office is reaching levels where comparisons in a probing of the memory banks find no rival.

Each day, as the envelope gets pushed farther and farther, more are beginning to recognize we have and imperial presidency, where our citizenry finds itself coming closer everyday to becoming full fledged members of the outer party, made famous in the 1949 George Orwell book 1984.

This level of arrogance presents a gold mine for late night hosts, who are not Obamabots, and those with sane mind, such as Micheal Ramirez, award winning editorial cartoonist for Investors Business Daily, who recognizes the great peril our country is in, with freedom and liberty escaping our grasp on seemingly a daily basis.

Michael Ramirez/Investors Business Daily

“That’s the good thing as a president, I can do whatever I want.” quipped President Barack Obama on February  10, 2014 while walking with French President Hollande prior to a meeting.  On a side note, can you imagine the French president having a political positioning to the right of our president.  Me neither.

Many are taking notice and wondering if the executive order actions taken by President Obama are indicative of the executive office acting without benefit of congressional backing or the will of the people.  You think?

Juan Williams of FOX News defends the President, noting that Obama has issued less of these than previous presidents.  However, in reality, even though Obama has a pen and phone, he rarely uses executive order on big things he cannot get congressional approval for.  He simply fails to adhere to laws, changes laws, or initiates governance through arms of the government, with an example being climate change legislation through the EPA.

This actions are simply lawlessness and in many ways a violation of our Constitution, and if placed on the other foot, those Obamabots would be literally setting the place on fire.  However, Few on the right seem fazed.

Dangerous precedent is being set,  but what is puzzling is that so many of the congressional members, from both parties, find this acceptable practice.  The congress enables itself to irrelevancy in effort to promote their progressive ideals.  This goes against the founders, who thought the separate powers would always work in their own best interest, a vehicle of protection of the separation of powers.

George Orwell
Victor Davis Hanson penned a recent column noting America has become an Orwellian nation of Obamathink.  In fact, it is a brave new world, where the pages of not only 1984 are coming to pass, but even Orwell's Animal Farm.   It really seems surreal to think such things, but sadly, evidence suggests our governance is leading us in this direction, the intellectual elite feeling it necessary to make our decisions for us

The Democrats sent their folks in office to reverse the perceived evils they saw in George W. Bush only to have them magnified exponentially. This group consists of those who are Obamabots and opponents of our capitalist system or are drunk on irrelevance and fail to recognize it.

Surveillance, the national debt and federal deficit, executive orders and transparency are only a few of the items where the Dems likely cannot tell the men from the animals.  I cannot either, but I can tell the intellectual elite progressives over the principled representatives of the citizenry and their liberty and freedom.

Nothing is real, and we are not strolling around Strawberry Fields. President Obama runs around "campaigning" against the results of action he himself has orchestrated.  It is in fact the Limbaugh Theorem.

This is quite simply unsustainable.  The lies will ultimately be exposed, the truths will emerge and reality of what has taken place in the last decade will be a bitter pill for most to swallow.  The damage to America, already taking shape, will be significant.

For the average American, the most likely form of this damage will be a reduction in the standard of living, far beyond what has already occurred under Obama, from a serious financial event.  Many are presently predicting such an event, coming sooner than later.

1984 was not supposed to be an instructional manual.  America had better wake up soon, or we may soon be living a life similar to the one Winston Smith did, which was one without freedom and hope for the future.
That would be some harsh hope and change, wouldn't it.

No Quarter

Opportunities to save America from Obamacare, a governmental takeover of our health care system sprinting along the road we will have traveled arriving at the socialist utopia progressives have forever dreamed of, are few.

Certainly, those of us freedom fighters can appreciate the efforts of those will have stood in the face or tyranny, inclusive in particular of Mike Lee, R:UT, Rand Paul, R:KY, Marco Rubio, R:FL, Loise Gohmert, R:TX, Michele Bachmann, R:MN, and Ted Cruz, R:TX.  They are fighting for us!

It is important for the noise to be extracted from the truth, which is difficult for the average citizen to fight through amid all the lies and distractions.

For example, former president Bill Clinton was on ABC News This Week this morning telling untold lies.  Clinton said the following:  "I've never seen a time-- can you remember a time in your lifetime when a major political party was just sitting around, begging for America to fail?"

As a matter of fact, yes I can, recalling the Democrats cheering problems in Iraq the Bush administration was having pre-surge, calling for us to retreat while snatching defeat from the arms of victory. Then, there were the rules of engagement qualifications.

Actually, by advocating for a governmental takeover of health care, one would be seeking to limit freedom of choice and liberty of the citizenry, which I deem being complicit in seeking and assisting in the failure of America.

Clinton further offered that "If I were the president, I wouldn't negotiate over these draconian cuts that are gonna take food off the table of low-income working people, while they leave all the agricultural subsidies in for high-income farmers and everything else," he said. "It's chilling to me. The entitlement spending is going down as the unemployment rate drops and the economy grows. Half of the deficit's already disappeared. The rest of it just seems almost spiteful."

The country is bankrupt, and food is not being taken off the table for low-income working people, which is actually part of the reason why the country is bankrupt; unnecessary and growing entitlements.  What is significantly harming the low-income working people is the lack of being able to work, as economic policies of the Obama administration has devastated the work force, particularly for low level and minority workers.

Entitlement spending, with a record number of folks on food stamps, is not "going down".  On top of that, many folks who cannot find work have shifted from the unemployment rolls to the disability rolls, receiving assistance all along the way. Although statistically growing at minuscule levels, the economy is shambles, and the deficit has in no way disappeared.

What is spiteful and appalling is to speak this type of dishonesty to the American people in effort to seek continuance of the power these individuals have; the country be damned. As such, the former president has identified himself as a dishonest broker. Who knew?

I continue to hear how republicans are blocking the legislation from moving forward.  If only that were true.  Sadly, several GOP members are fighting Sen. Cruz harder than some Democrats.

Obamacare is an encroachment on personal liberty and freedom, a vehicle for massive government control of the citizenry, a road we are traveling to a single payer system.  While progressives demand we wave the flag of surrender, every legally permissible opportunity to thwart Obamacare must be taken.

The fight is on; offer these dishonest opponents of freedom No Quarter!

Liars Lack Credibility

President Obama; Commander Clueless At Large

"My credibility is not on the line," quipped President Obama today regarding his red line he never spoke of regarding the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

Problem is, Obama has no credibility.

"The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America’s and Congress’s credibility is on the line."

In response to appearing most weak, Obama throws the international community under the bus for attempting to set a level of standards in times of conflict that adhere to common decency and follows by hammering the Congress for being part of such an agreement.

The comments are really an effort to discredit Republicans and the use of force by those countries able to successfully conduct military operations.  Only when the administration find the international community has the "responsibility to protect" would military action seem appropriate.

From the beginning of Obama's administration and his apology tour, there has not been an international relations plan anyone can make sense of.  The Arab Spring was a disaster everyone but he and his staff saw in the making, and the orchestrated events in Lybia has moved the country into lawlessness and ruin and has resulted in Egypt in turmoil.

Furthermore, truth and the adherence to the rule of law have been absent, a critical matter of trust.  One could surmise the administration has been less than forthcoming, but the fact of the matter is those the are charged to report to are left facing distortion, stonewalling, mistruths and deception.

This would include negotiations surrounding the auto bailouts, Fast and Furious, the stimulus, the unemployment rate, the NSA scandal, the IRS scandal and most notably, the events in Benghazi where four patriots, including our Ambassador, were murdered.

The administration is not credible, and Rep. Jeff Duncan, R:SC, made the charge while grilling Secretary of State John Kerry, who is an appalling individual, lacking character and credibility, who although serving in, has exhibited great disdain for our military over the years.

I have no access to any military intelligence and can only speculate on the real story from what I can ascertain from following the events, deciphering what I can from media reports and hearing testimonials.  But, it seems clear chemical weapons were utilized in Syria.

However, in my opinion, there are a myriad of outstanding questions that must be addressed before we risk the lives of our servicemen.   Primarily due to the mind boggling foreign policy of this administration, this situation has really become one were neither side, either the administration of Bashar al-Assad or the rebels made up of factions of Al-Queda and the Muslim Brotherhood,   deserves any support from Uncle Sam.

Interestingly enough, we apparently know the issues in Syria like the palm of our hand but were paralyzed at the time and remain quite puzzled at what transpired in Benghazi.  We actually thought is was because of a video.  I don't buy it, and nor should you.

Going against Assad, as Obama is asking Congress for approval in doing, puts us on the side with the Muslim Brotherhood and factions of Al-Queda, both of whom I consider our enemies.  Problem is, I doubt President Obama considers agrees. As Sen. Ted Cruz, R:TX, said, "we should not be “al-Qaeda’s air force."

The entire operation has come about quickly for some reason, with somewhat of a sense of urgency.  I wonder why, but then again, there is golf, fundraising and world travel going on.

The case is weak, and we are asked by the same hypocrites who railed against George W. Bush, who had a library of info compared to Kerry's briefcase, to seemingly blindly accept their premise and jump on board.

No such luck with me.  It is noted many seemingly knowledgeable people have, including Jennifer Rubin over at The Washington Post.

We should not tolerate the use of chemical weapons and there may be some additional reasons to be involved, but we have not been informed of what they may be. I got some ideas, coming up in a later post.

Certainly, I am not against military action when necessary, provided we go kick the ass out of our opponent and come home. For us to engage, there must be a strategic plan of action, rather than a rushed effort with no stated goal or end game.

In my view, the administration has presented themselves as liars ( perpetrators apprehended and punished in Benghazi?) and thieves (monetizing of the debt), misrepresenting and distorting facts ( no red line drawn).  They are not to be trusted, and get no quarter from me.

Obama thinks he is loved from the night sky to the ocean floor, but only he and a few remaining Obamabots still think that. The truth of the matter is, that other than attempting to save what limited credibility Obama and the US still clings to on the world stage, there is no strategic US interest or reason to be involving ourselves, and placing at risk the treasure of our servicemen and women, in yet another middle east skirmish, particularly with no strategic plan.

A Real Trump Card

In the real estate business myself, I have been a longtime fan of Donald Trump, admiring his work as a real estate developer. Although I am not to be considered a reality television viewer, I have enjoyed several episodes of Trump's The Apprentice on NBC. I met him seemingly in passing in Trump Tower in 1998, and he seemed like a nice guy and I enjoy listening to interviews with him as he is guy who speaks his mind.

Over the years, I have not been on par with Trump politically, particularly on the subject of the Iraq war. Trump thinks it was a horrible decision to engage Iraq, and due to that his opinion of George W. Bush is quite low. I completely disagree with those assessments.

Recently, Trump has labeled President Barack Obama as the worst in our history, which Trump says has forced him into considering a run for the White House himself. Conservative is how Trump labels himself, and therefore if he runs he will do so as a Republican.

His potential entrance into the political arena has already paid dividends. Outside of Trump tackling topics many run from, most notably China, he took on the birth certificate fiasco head on and low and behold, it finally appeared. For reasons like this, I welcomed his entrance into the fire.

Although it has seemingly tailed off this week, recent polling had Trump near or at the top of the leaderboard of GOP hopefuls for 2012. Common sense rhetoric is the vehicle Trump has used to gain these lofty poll numbers.

Many think this is a publicity stunt, and given Trump, who could argue. We will soon find out.

If Trump does run, he could play a real trump card.

Given his middle of the road stances on many issues and his dovish positions on middle east conflict, he will have great difficulty winning the GOP primary against a long list of strong candidates. Should Trump lose the GOP primary, he has ruled out an independent run, as he indicates this would likely hand the presidency to Obama, something he says would be catastrophic, and boy howdy do I agree.

Trump loves America no doubt, and he hates to see us in the weakened state we currently find ourselves in. Trump should seize the day, change his political affiliation to Democrat and challenge Obama in the Democratic primary. Trump could win that race fairly easily, slamming the charlatan on wide ranging issues from business economics to American spirit.

The Progressives have completely taken over the Democratic party, although this may be news to many in that group. I know there are many conservative Democrats who do not like the current direction of their party and would welcome a "Scoop Jackson" type Democrat to consider. In a primary, Trump could engage Obama directly, and I think this would be great fun.

This move would be fantastic theater and great for America, and it would give Trump the chance to speak in familiar tongue: You're fired!

Do it Donald; pull a real trump card!

Navy Seals Bin Laden Fate

Amongst the wreckage of the Twin Towers, President George W. Bush made a pledge to the American people.

"We will not tire, we will not falter, we will not fail"

President Bush led the US into military action to serve justice for the barbaric actions taken against us on September 11, 2001. While we were able to achieve great successes, including victory in Iraq, disrupting terrorist activity in Afghanistan and thwarting future attacks here at home, a significant victory continued to elude us. This would be the capture or killing of Al-Queda leader and terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden.

Seemingly a few short months after 9-11, the left in America took the battle, not to our enemies, but to President Bush for waging battle against those who will us harm. Iraq, Guantanimo Bay, intensive interrogation techniques and war for oil were just a few of the issues put forth. Thankfully, Bush is man of principle and was steadfast in resolve to get the job done.

President Obama was among the loudest mouthpieces in opposition to the foreign policies Bush subscribed to. Fortunately, for whatever reason, Obama has, while kicking and screaming, continued most of these policies. In fact, to his credit, Obama has stepped up predator drone attacks.

In a stunning turn of events, America learned late Sunday night that through US Military operations, signed off on by President Obama, Osama Bin Laden was killed.

For God and Country! Geronimo! Geronimo! Geronimo!

First, I want to thank President George W. Bush for his courageous leadership and taking the fight to the enemy, helping to gather our footing and placing the United States on offense rather than defense. God Bless You Sir.

While much time is spent on this blog hammering President Obama, and rightfully so, on this occasion I wish to congratulate him on making the bold decision to have our Special Forces dart into Pakistan and kill Osama Bin Laden. This historically profound decision will reap many rewards, but more importantly, it gives a sense of closure to much of the country that was emotionaly wounded on September 11, 2001. Thank You Sir!

Most importantly, I wish to thank our troops. The level of sacrifice these brave Men and Women have endured is incalculable. Beyond that, they exhibit extreme professionalism and are quite simply the best in the world. We can never repay them for what they have given to our country. God Bless You All!

Certainly, our Special Forces deserve to be singled out for pulling off this action with surgical precision. These special operations forces are simply the best!

This was a great day for America!

Unfortunately, the war on terror is far from over, and playing our cards right going forward is critical to continue the momentum Bin Ladens demise gives us. Certainly, our relationship with Pakistan is in turmoil as they are not happy we went in without informing them. I could not care less.

I not pleased with with giving Bin Laden a proper Muslim burial. While we treat people in a humane fashion, bowing once again to the Muslim world for protocol for this mass murderer is not a course I would have followed.

On the heels of this event, the left is seeking a coming together in the political arena. Since most Americans are not for the transformation of America, this will not happen. However, we can today be very proud that our nation remains vigilant in the face of terror.

Among the many politicizing the assassination of Osama Bin Laden is formerly repsected news woman Barbara Walters, who quipped "I would hate now to be a Republican candidate thinking of running," on ABC's The View this morning. Fellow co-host and looney left bloviator Joy Behar suggested Americans should "Skip the next election". Character counts.

The election will come. Right now, Congratulations to all involved in this historic action. Excellent job! Justice is served.

A Matter of Trust

At the end of the day, I have always thought our President was born in Hawaii. No doubt, I have many questions about his upbringing, educational background, suspect activities and friendships he has had. Show me your friends and I will identify your character.

There are many who question the birthplace of President Obama. Birthers, as they are called, have been vilified from both sides of the political isle as kooks, along the lines of UFO supporters. Even Glenn Beck thinks the issue is a waste of time. For those who wish to spend the time, the questions are legitimate and I say question with boldness!

Among the elites who condescend to those in doubt, on Wednesday, CNBC's John Harwood, gleefully bathing in Obama bathwater, described those who questioned the birthplace of President Obama as uniformed and not very smart or rational. I was waiting for him to note our lack of fly swatting abilities.

Recently, potential GOP 2012 hopeful Donald Trump has been out front questioning Obama and his birth certificate. Jerome Corsi, of World Net Daily, has just released a sure to be best seller "Where's The Birth Certificate". Perhaps it was the scorching editorial in Investors Business Daily on Wednesday, but for whatever reason, President Obama abruptly held a news conference and produced his birth certificate.

President Obama said we got better things to do and we should not spend time on this crazy issue. I recognize the President is very busy with the problems our country is facing and cannot be saddled with questions from carnival barkers. Quiet on the tee box!

The President has used the birth certificate as a political pawn, for those who engage the subject pay a political price as they are overwhelmingly pounded as on the lunatic fringe. Until Trump, about the farthest a GOP candidate would go is Michele Bachmann, who said she takes the President at his word.

I know why President Obama played his Trump card and finally produced the document. It is a matter of trust.

On the heels of a long list of disturbing actions, Obama has lost the trust of the American people. Through the Czars, governmental agencies like the EPA regulating dead policy initiatives and executive orders rendering the Congress as impotent, Obama has made effort to transform our system of government into a dictatorship. This is not how the founding fathers drew it up. Obama engages in Alinsky tactics of ridiculing opponents, governing by thugocracy and speaking publicly in half truths while taking actions in opposite directions.

Obama blasted George W. Bush on the wars, but is still engaged in both and has us involved in another skirmish with little or no strategic plan. Sky high gas prices was a lack of leadership under Bush but no big deal as Obama sees it. Guantanamo Bay is thankfully still in operation. The wreckless abandon with which he is spending us into bankruptcy is frightening, and he had the gall to trash Paul Ryan, R:WI, who had the guts to put forward a plan of action to tackle entitlements.

Finally, the American people are freaked out by this President, who is nothing but a fast talking community agitator who is severely in over his head. On top of that, he does not see America as you and I do, rather just another flag on the flagpole.

Obama is arrogant, dishonest and pretends fact are not facts. Never has watching the other hand been more relevant than with Obama. Principally in part to the actions by Obama during his first term, America is in a precipitous decline.

Folks do not like it. In producing the birth certificate, Obama is attempting damage control as he recognizes that he has lost the American people. He has, and while the reasons why are numerous, at the end of the day, it is simply a matter of trust.

The Company He Keeps

It has been a busy week. Did you get your brackets filled out? Get all the accommodations made made on the next of your monthly vacations? Me neither.

While the world is seemingly on fire, what with our great friends in Japan suffering unparalleled disaster and the middle east in significant turmoil, Obama got all this done. He is all Rock Talk Jayhawk to cut the nets down.

Our response to the crisis in Japan is most troubling, as is most of the significant moves made by Obama. Beyond that, however, is a much more serious matter, and that has to deal with the action undertaken in Libya. I know what you are thinking, and you are right. But there is more.

We were all scratching our heads on the apparent dithering going on as President Obama watched as Colonel Muammar Gaddafi blasted rebels in country, threatening to cleanse them. While we are not the policemen of the world, but we do expect a level of leadership from our Commander in Chief.

We were not getting that leadership in this case. Why? It is not hard to come to a conclusion. Obama may claim he is not tight with Rev. Jeremiah Wright or Louis Farrakhan, but he is, and these guys are friends with Gaddafi. So while Obama will claim publicly Gaddafi "has to go", he will sit out the affair.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was reportedly incensed by the failure of Obama to make a decision in this matter, but she knows the real story. Already this week, we have heard in the media that Hillary would have been better as President in this arena, even from Rudy Giuliani. As I have written before, tread most carefully on that score.

France, leaders in absolutely nothing but surrender over the years, took the lead under President Nikolas Sarkozy to form a coalition to enter into military action against Libya. After getting the United Nations on board, Obama had no choice but to reluctantly go along.

Now, Obama has got a whole slew of issues that extend far beyond the lack of any orchestrated plan of action in Libya. First, by not consulting the Congress, did Obama act outside his constitutional authority in attacking Libya? J. B. Williams over at American Thinker makes that case.

In fact, Obama has been very effective at operating outside of Congress, from the appointing of the Czars early in his administration to enforcing cap and trade measures through the office of the EPA.

With the military action, Obama's base of support, including Wright and Farrakhan, have issued stern rhetoric his way. Weasel Zippers has more on Farrakhan. Certainly, all the left wing moon bats and George Soros led organizations will be up in arms over such action, or is that just when George W. Bush is in office? Will they turn on him?

The real story here is Obama is not against Gaddafi as you and I are. Obama is on the side of Wright and Farrakahn, who share the same beliefs as Gaddafi. The actions of France, France mind you, put Obama in a reluctant position of acting. Otherwise, one would expect, even given our media, reasonable questions regarding his beliefs in the role of America in the world would be put forth.

The real answer to those questions is not the same answers you and I would give. Any sound thought on the subject would draw this conclusion. You can learn volumes about someone by the company they keep. With Obama, it is not E. F. Hutton, Great Britain and Japan; it is Venezuela and the likes of Gaddafi, Farrakahn and his nation of Islam, and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

To Tell The Truth

During the course of my daily media viewing, from FOX News to CNBC, I hear political and economic analysts routinely create controversy by out and out lying to the viewers. Certainly, items of discussion like a prediction of the price of a particular stock price in three months has a varinace of opinion. Good luck with that. Those guys are smarter than I am as I don't even know what I am having for lunch tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the rapidly increasing lies go much deeper that what Coca Cola trades at come St. Patricks Day. Take the "established" rhetoric that the Obama administration has created or "saved" some 3 million jobs. Are you trying to kid me? No, you are lying to me. Brent Bozell, founder of The Media Research Center, has had enough:

I have had enough as well. I try to call many of the culprits out here on the blog, but time constraints prohibit me from even scratching the surface. During political season, and we are squarely in the thick of that as we approach the most important election of my lifetime on November 2, a real "Time of Choosing", I want to express to my readers how important it is to know your sources.

From Common Cents Blog comes a blog piece I have been aiming to present on my own for some time, highlighting perhaps your best economic and political source for credible information. It can be found on the pages of Investors Business Daily.

Common Cents Blog says: "The absolute best editorial page you will read is Investor's Business Daily. IBD prints easy-to-read, concise and hard hitting editorials that tout the benefits of free enterprise." A subscriber since 1994, I am in complete agreement with this assertion. Common Cents Blog lists the editorial pieces from Tuesday, October 26, 2010. I added a few they left off, and added commentary on each piece.

EDITORIALS

ObamaCare: Finding things we don't like in the Democrats' overhaul legislation is becoming an almost daily event. Add to the list the possibility that a provision in the bill could be almost six times more costly than the initial estimate. We need to pass the bill to find out what is in the bill. This is completely lacking in common sense, is insulting and a unfathomable display of arrogance. Did I mention we are broke?

WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction): Iraq War documents released by WikiLeaks show that U.S. forces frequently encountered weapons of mass destruction facilities and specialists. A former president is owed an apology. I find WikiLeaks and its founder disgusting. However, I have and had no doubt Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and that Iran is and continues to be the head of the snake. Thank You President Bush!

Fiscal Responsibility: Facing historic electoral losses, big-spending Democrats have stooped to lying about Rep. Paul Ryan's innovative plan to save Social Security — aided and abetted by the establishment media. While Obama thinks he is the smartest guy in the room, economically, Ryan is. Come November 2, Uncle Same can finally utilize his talents to help us to perhaps regain prosperity again.

Election 2010: Nine days before Americans go to the polls, CBS' "60 Minutes" tells the true story of just how many of them are in the unemployment line. Brother, can you spare a vote? The housing crisis is one created in large measure by government interference and is far from being over. It has so decimated the economy that a extremely serious unemployment situation must now be dealt with prior to any meaningful repair in the housing market.

Islamofascism: O'Reilly, Whoopi and Joy are all wrong. The 9/11 terrorists weren't "Muslim extremists" or just plain "Muslims." A liberal newspaper reporter says they were model Muslims. More precisely, they were "perfect soldiers" for Allah, says Los Angeles Times national correspondent Terry McDermott. I have no idea why anyone would give a rats ass what Whoopi and lack of Joy Behar care about anything. However, watching "The View", which I do not, although I am a Disney (DIS:NYSE) shareholder, gives you a window on what a cancer the progressive mindset is to the founding principles of our nation.

War: With WikiLeaks exposing new U.S. secrets, the worst revelation is that the U.S. is vulnerable. As President Obama obsesses about exiting Iraq and Afghanistan, the leaks show that Iran is taking advantage. The globalist in chief is dangerously naive in global affairs. This is very troubling, and the un-American mindset of Obama is rapidly weakening America. Reagan thought peace through strength was the best course, and I quite agree.

Election '10: Megalomania and chutzpah has been redefined with the Senate majority leader's assertion that without him we'd be in worldwide depression. Unfortunately, he couldn't save his home state of Nevada. Reid thinks that without him, we would be in a worldwide depression. This may well be the most arrogant statement ever. He could not run a lemonade stand, but he thinks he is the Vince Lombardi of creating economic expansion.

On The Left: The Tea Party has no leader. It has no address, no phone and no Washington headquarters. It is everywhere and nowhere. For Barack Obama, the Tea Party is the quintessential asymmetrical enemy, much like the Taliban in Afghanistan. The president stands a chance of losing on both fronts. Leftist moonbat and Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen can't determine who the enemies of Obama are. Cohen and The Post have searched the Tea Party high and low to figure out how one could oppose the brilliance of the anointed one. No need to phone Columbo, Obama's enemies are free market capitalists, and given his statements to a Latino audience yesterday, those who oppose his policies, which is well over half the country.

On The Right: Classic songs from years past are sometimes referred to as "golden oldies." There are political fallacies that have been around for a long time as well. These might be called brass oldies. It certainly takes a lot of brass to keep repeating fallacies that were refuted long ago. Dr. Sowell, a fellow at The Hoover Institute at Stanford, is brilliant and someone who you should become acquainted with. Sowell is dead on in this piece, as we are retracing the steps that put us in The Great Depression. For a more detailed overview, read Amity Shlaes book "The Forgotten Man"

Stop Spending

Every weekday morning while wrestling my bowl of cinnamon flavored oatmeal, I am monitoring the financial markets with the gang on CNBC's Squawk Box, sick twisted freak that I am. There have been some historic moments on Squawk, most notably with Rick Santelli's shout heard round the world , and the discussion today was along those same lines as America has a choice to make. Take a listen:

Although Joe Kernen and Rick Santelli have fun slapping Steve Liesman around, the choice America has economically is between the Keynesian economic theory regrading the issue of governmental stimulus in the marketplace (Obama) versus the supply side theories of very limited governmental intervention by lowering costs of production and helping to lift the entrepreneurial spirit of free market capitalism, which then trickles down benefiting everyone (Reagan).

New York Times economist Paul Krugman is in the forefront of those promoting the Keynesian theories, and recently wrote that due to a failure to spend enough, the United States is preparing to enter a third depression. Investors Business Daily takes him to task on that thought.

One of my readers alerted me to a piece blaming George W. Bush for all the deficits we are now experiencing. While the Bush administration did expand the deficit, due primarily to events in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, it is the current policies of governmental interference, in the form of increased regulation and taxation, the assault on small businesses across the fruited plain and the uncertainty of the playing field going forward that has hindered investment, placed meaningful growth in a stranglehold and exponentially bloated the federal deficit. In fact, the governmental stimulus in the public sector further crowds out private investment, where most of the jobs are created.

Explaining the poor decisions the current administration is making is Robert Mundell and Art Laffer, who joined CNBC's Larry Kudlow recently for a frank discussion.

The Obama administration has engaged in a level of governmental stimulus never before seen, and our economy has little if anything to show for it. Foreign countries that engage in this type of socialist activities have run out of other peoples money, causing the civil unrest we have witnessed. Uncle Sam will be dealing with these same issues if we don't change course quickly.

There are a few politicians emerging that understand the severity of the issue, including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) and Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan (R). For our economy to improve, outside of a sweeping change in November, the government should do just as Rick Santelli suggested, and that is to stop spending immediately.

Fixin A Hole

Quite obviously, the Gulf Oil Spill is an alarming environmental and economic disaster that unfortunately continues daily. However, in a staggering lack of leadership, the Obama administration seems more interested in the political events of the day and finger pointing rather than engaging all options in an effort to take command and plug the devastating leak. Sean Hannity, joined by Deneen Borelli and Sandra Smith, has more:

Certainly, all Americans recognize President Obama should not be down there with a shovel and a bucket. However, the constant running at the mouth that the administration is "in charge" and has been on top of this situation "since day 1" is not true, and everyone knows it. Whoever is in charge is failing miserably.

An outspoken voice among the entire left lambasting President George W. Bush over his handling of Hurricane Katrina was Captain Pop Off himself, Barack Obama. I remember him blasting John McCain's reaction to the financial crisis as a "Katrina like response, sort of stood there", "shifting positions these last two weeks looking for photo-ops trying to figure out what to say and what to do". Seems to me Obama has pulled out that playbook, and so does Drinking With Bob:

I am a supporter of offshore drilling, and drilling everywhere possible. Drill Baby Drill! The reason we have to drill in 5000 feet of water is because left wing environmentalist have won the day and we are not permitted to drill in Alaska, Colorado or offshore areas in more shallow water.

It is far time for our President to show some leadership on this economic and environmental disaster. This is not the fault of Bush, and Obama is not helping by flying across the country to do campaign events for Barbara Boxer (D) in California, shooting hoops, watching the NBA finals or attending a the concert of a guy who has experience in Fixin A Hole, Paul McCartney. In fact, Obama has been plugging up some holes. Unfortunately for America, these holes are found on the golf course, not in The Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe us Americans are in fact fortunate in one regard. It is clear to anyone paying attention that our Commander in Chief is not getting the job done, is lacking in leadership qualities and is promoting disingenuous rhetoric (propaganda) at a minimum, attributes not becoming a President of our once great nation.

Casting the Blame

While there is nowhere close to the media howl in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, there are rumblings that the Obama administration has been a failure in addressing the most unfortunate oil rig explosion and resulting spill of oil into the Gulf of Mexico.

Among those asking questions, and rightfully so, are The New York Times, Rush Limbaugh, and even left wing moonbat Bill Maher. On FOX News, the lovely Megyn Kelly discusses the issue with Juan Williams and Brad Blakeman. Take a listen:

To recap, President Bush was excoriated for his administrations response to Hurricane Katrina, unfairly as I saw it. The National Weather Service had it nailed, and the Emergency Alert System kicked in. New Orleans residents were told to evacuate, even by Bush himself in a pre-landing announcement. Most who stayed weathered the hurricane itself, but the devastation that came after the levee broke was severe. When the levee breaks, you got no where to go. Bush and the FEDS were held back by state and local governments (recall NO Mayor Ray Nagin), who were totally inept.

When the oil rig platform explosion happened, it seemed the situation would be handled. However, as shown in this National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration video, officials were worried about extensive oil leakage as reported by theblogprof.com. It has been reported that the congress was by law supposed to have fire booms and failed to do so, in yet another example of governmental ineptitude. If true about the fire booms, someone in government is criminally negligent.

Obviously, in retrospect, both the Bush administration and the Obama administration would handled some things differently. In my view, the big difference is the arrogance of Obama, who was among the many mouthing off at the actions of Bush but feeding us the load of crap over the weekend that his administration was on this "day 1", which if it were not so serious, would be laughable. And, I cannot help but think this may be another emergency the Obama administration wants to take advantage of, what with cap and trade on the horizon.

A big difference is the media coverage, as there are very few questioning Obama on this. From Sheppard Smith to Kayne West, Bush was getting an absolute earful. Obama?

Meanwhile, Obama's Katrina is taking place and he out is telling jokes, attacking Wall Street, calling out Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck at U Michigan and firing distasteful jokes about the Jonas Brothers while yucking it up at the National Correspondents dinner. But don't worry, it is British Petroleum's job to clean it up and Obama has his foot on the neck of BP (BP:NYSE).

Wow! Even though we have an environmental disaster and substantial forthcoming economic damage, I feel much better.

Advantage Bush. Again!

Idiots at Large

On April 1, 2010, we got word, and video, The United States hit a new low, demonstrating quite effectively that idiots are running this country right into the ground. Please see the following commentary by Congressman Hank Johnson (D:GA) directed at Admiral Robert Willard during an Armed Services Committee hearing.

Are you trying to kid me? No, this was not an April fools joke; you can't make this stuff up. What a complete idiot!

Johnson, a member of the progressive caucus, should immediately resign his office due to stupidity. In addition to being a moron, Johnson is also a hypocrite. Johnson responded to the State of the Union address by President George W. Bush in 2007 by saying "This war has proven to be one of the gravest missteps in the recent history of our country. It is time for President Bush to face the music and respond to the urgent demands of a frustrated country."

With Tea Party participants far outnumbering anti Iraq war protesters, has anyone heard Congressman Johnson ask President Obama to "face the music and respond to the urgent demands of a frustrated country"? I did not think so.

Johnson replaced Cynthia McKinney, who is perhaps the all time moonbat queen in Congressional history.

Our country is being run, in large measure, by a bunch of absolute idiots. Although we get the governing we deserve by electing these folks, there is something that should be done immediately to help set up a road block on the avenue of electing idiots.

We need to reverse the gerrymandered congressional districts, going back to a collection of neighboring zip codes. While some of the districts make no sense and are almost comical, they also are putting the country at risk. President Bush offered commentary on the subject in 2008, noting that these types of districts polarize the Congress and foster incumbency.

By continuing along with the gerrymandered districts, without term limits, we will continue to have less than stellar, and downright embarrassing, representation among our elected officials. Look no further than Congressman Johnson, and his predecessor, Ms. McKinney, idiots at large, for the devastating evidence.

Astonishing Arrogance

Oprah Winfrey, media superstar and supporter of friend Barack Obama, interviewed our President and asked him to grade himself on the job he has done in the first year of his presidency. The arrogance is alarming!

For the record, I would give Obama a better than average grade if I subscribed to his line of thinking. I do not, and therefore would place a grade of D on Obama. The President declared he will transform America, and he is doing just that. George Washington would oppose him vehemently, as I do.

Obama states that his administration inherited the biggest set of challenges since FDR, which is of course a slam on his predecessor, George W. Bush. Much, if not all, of the challenges Americans face was not the fault of George W. Bush.

In the interview, Obama offers that his administration has stabilized the economy and prevented a substantial financial meltdown which may have led to another Great Depression which has led to the economy beginning to grow again. One would hope to see growth having thrown a trillion dollars at the problem. Obama's economic policies are in fact contributing to the continuation of the economic problems we face. Amity Shlaes has written extensively on this subject, including the unemployment problem. Signs of economic growth are anemic and fears of a double dip recession and return to the recent lows on the S&P 500 are well founded.

Obama feels his plan for Afghanistan is the "best possible". I am really confused because he is sending more troops while forecasting an exit plan, not noting whether victory would be considered. The plan is borderline incompetent. We are leaving Iraq, but no thanks to the cut and run crowd he is part of. Obama, whenever present, was a huge opponent of our efforts in Iraq, so if anyone deserves, wait for it, "a shout out", it is ole W.

We definitely do have a more favorable image among those overseas, mainly among those countries we are at odds with. They love Obama's anti war posture, his accommodating stance toward socialist countries and dictators and his position on global climate change, which is otherwise known as a transfer of our wealth to these nations, who through their backward economic policies and opposition to freedom for their citizens, view us a thief of their fortunes.

The consensus about North Korea and Iran refraining from production of nuclear weapons existed long before Obama entered the political stage.

The passage of the proposed health care plan, taking over 1/6th of our economy, violates free market principles and will impose a hefty form of taxation and regulation to the small businesses of America. This will significantly hamper economic growth and be a job killer, thereby expanding the length and deepening the economic downturn we find ourselves in, revisiting the historic missteps of those in charge in the Great Depression as the aforementioned Amity Shlaes outlined in The Forgotten Man.

Obama is doing his best to make Jimmy Carter look good in every facet of the game. Unfortunately, he is so impressed with himself that he is failing to recognize the country is turning on him as reported by Rasmussen, and rightfully so.

The Complete Lack of Integrity

The left is stock piled with pontificators who hold a high level of disdain for our military. Senator John Murtha, D:PA, is notable in this regard, and is an individual I have zero respect for. While we call them heroes, you may recall Murtha called members of our Marine Corps cold blooded killers. As it turns out, what a shocker, he was incorrect but issued no apology to those he slandered. Apparently, he was too busy slamming members of his constituency by labeling them racists.

Another individual who gets nothing accomplished but loves to run his mouth is Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D:NV. This past weekend marked the anniversary of one of his famous diatribes. Take a listen to his conclusion:

Thank God, President George W. Bush recognized what an idiot Reid is and paid him no mind. The battle in The Global War on Terror that was Iraq is over, a decisive victory by our military in a region where few thought possible. Some 50 million people were liberated, which is truly remarkable. Excellent job and God Bless you all! Mission Accomplished!

Meanwhile, I am quite confused how folks like Murtha and Reid continue to get elected, or how things like this happen. One thing I know, is if I held Reid's position and was this clueless on the activities our military at any time, particularly at a time of war, I would offer my resignation out of personal integrity or my responsibility to my country, if not my stupidity. Then I remembered that personal integrity is widely absent in Washington. A complete lack of integrity! So there you go.

Independence Day

While most free market capitalist Americans see every day as Independence Day, many government elected officials and left wing loons look to April 15th as a trip to the candy store. They see this day as a day to feed the monster of well intended programs that have given way to a socialistic mentality which is crippling our once thriving economy.

Ari Fleischer, former press secretary for George W. Bush, wrote an outstanding column in The Wall Street Journal on the disaster that our tax system has become. Most, if not all, citizens near the bottom of the scale pay zero taxes, and in fact, receive tax credits making their rate of taxation charted in the negative. An alarming balance of the taxes are paid by the wealthiest of Americans, who are the ones who tend to be most philanthropic and those who start major business who employ high numbers of workers.

The current tax code is indeed an abomination, and Larry Kudlow moderates a discussion on The Kudlow Report with the aforementioned Ari Fleischer, Wall Street Journal Editorial Board member Steve Moore, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich and Jim Tisch, chairman of the Loews Corporation (L:NYSE).

The famous novel Atlas Shrugged is some 675,00 words. The Bible is near 800,000 words. Our tax code is estimated at 3,700,000 words. Enough said.

The Obama administration is on a spending spree not seen in our history. President Obama is of the mindset that government and it's checkbook is the preferred avenue of resurrecting the economy, as further evidenced by his speech today. This type of thinking sinks potential workers into a drug users position in the form of welfare and breaks the competitiveness inside of them.

I believe that small business, behind the entrepreneurial spirit with limited governmental regulation and taxation, is the vehicle to provide this great land of ours with a free market path to prosperity. Ronald Reagan believed that as well.

We might come closer to balancing the Budget if all of us lived closer to the Commandments and the Golden Rule--Ronald Reagan

It is with that spirit that there will be over 500 tea parties across this great land today. Among the items spearheaded with Glenn Beck's 912 Project is the subscription of a set of principles and values. The Golden Rule would be one of those, and if any of our politicians recognized this, they would stand firmly against the spending that is set to cripple our children if not tackling us in the meantime. Most all do not, so it is time for action on our part.

Please join me in peacefully making your voice heard. Hopefully, I won't have to Jack Bauer any trouble making ACORN representatives at the Orlando Tea Party at City Hall tonight.

Global War on Terror

Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State, says that the Obama administration has "abandoned the term global war on terror" reports suggest. "The administration has stopped using the phrase and I think that speaks for itself," Clinton said.

Clinton claims the term was widely disliked overseas. I got news flash for you. Most Americans could give a rats ass what the folks overseas think of this terminology.

The Obama administration prefers the term 'Overseas Contingency Operation,' which I find offensive. Here at BAHL's Blog, we will continue to describe the war on terror as exactly what it is, a Global War On Terror!

The terrorists, although thanks to George W. Bush have been getting their asses kicked since 9-11, still seek to eliminate us with whatever means possible. The appeasement exhibited by the Obama administration certainly does not bode well for our future.

We should never forget the events of September 11, 2001 and should remain on offense in attacking those who wish us harm.

A Ship of Fools

On the day before Valentines a month ago, Time Magazine put forth an article noting the 25 people to blame for the current financial crisis. Among the guilty listed were Christopher Cox (R:CA), current SEC Charmian, Angelo Mozillo, former CEO of Countrywide Financial, the American consumer, Franklin Raines, a former Clinton budget director and team Obama financial advisor who left fraud infested and bankrupt Fannie Mae with a $90 million parting gift and former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

All the aforementioned are on my list. Mozillo and Raines should be jailed while Cox represents the ultimate example of being asleep at the wheel. Clinton, although he has a disengaged memory of this, started programs which in part led to this debacle while Bush, although he publicly asked Congress for derivatives reform, was Charles in Charge as the situation broke horribly loose.

For the record, GOP Presidential hopeful John McCain (R:AZ), put forth legislation to rein in Freddie and Fannie while President Barack Obama, who complains daily how he inherited this mess, voiced not a peep regarding the housing crisis or credit derivatives on the very few times he engaged the senate floor. He does, however, have a long term association with ACORN, which leads me to the question the Time list.

In the world of BAHL, four of the top culprits were astonishingly omitted on the list by Time. Consistent with the presentation Time put forth, here are my missing four:

Barney Frank (D:MA), Chair of the House Financial Services Committee

Chief among the fools on the hill we can blame for this mess is Barney Frank, who has arrogantly bungled issue after issue. When President Bush asked for the congressional leadership to shore up the derivatives market and the balance sheets at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Frank got twisted and angrily proclaimed that Fannie ( FNM:NYSE) and Freddie (FRC:NYSE) were fine and had no issues. Keep in mind the government runs Freddie and Fannie, and from his perch atop the House Financial Services Committee Frank missed the herd of pink elephants running around. In addition, under the leadership of Franklin Delano Raines, Fannie Mae was found guilty of fraud (accounting errors for those with friends in high places). Frank was a longtime champion of Freddie and Fannie, scolding members of congress who questioned the soundness of these GSE's and running interference to those who got in the way. Obviously, Frank was motivated to back Freddie and Fannie or he is an idiot.

ACORN

If you are looking for a quote unquote non-profit organization that operates with a mob style that imposes it's will on American commerce, it is the Obama friendly fraudulent organization of ACORN. You really need a history of the decades long role this organization has played in this crisis. Through civil disobedience, ACORN continues to interject their ideas in the marketplace even today.

ACORN pressured lending institutions to increase lending to those with less than stellar credit worthiness, essentially minorities, by threatening to march in front of their business or even haul them into court for discrimination. One of the young member of the ACRON legal team was Chicago's Barack Obama. Fearing the unknown of squaring off against this group, many lending institutions caved in and began stretching their lending guidelines.

Chuck Schumer (D:NY)

Chuck Schumer, (D:NY), finds the folks he represents as lower class chatterers who have not the knowledge to interject with the intellectually superior elite like himself. Schumer may have ignited this whole cascade of bank failures by making ill-advised and potentially illegal comments about Indymac bank, which resulted in a run on the bank. At a minimum Schumer had a fiduciary responsibility to keep his mouth shut on information about Indymac he had gained from his governmental position. Violation of the responsibility to the magnitude of Schumers actions are borderline criminal. After Indymac failed, the doors got kicked open and the scramble to struggle for solvency was initiated. Was this an idiotic move or a grand scheme to destabilize the banking system to make the Bush administration look bad? Either way, Schumer's actions are arrogant and destructive.

Chris Dodd (D:CT)

Christopher Dodd has his hands in the housing crisis more than anyone else on Capitol Hill, and he should be asked to resign immediately if not impeached. I have been calling for this for quite some time. Dodd got a favorable loan from Countrywide, a loan with terms not available to the common man, and claimed he was unaware of it. It would not be a stretch to think the Chairman of the House Banking Committee had little knowledge of mortgage loan terms given the level of competence we see in Washington.

Imagine the Chairman of the House Banking Committee getting a favorable loan and failing to notice any issues with Countrywide, Fannie or Freddie or issues with unqualified home buyers being granted mortgages. Somehow, Dodd managed to escape with his job after this debacle but now is embroiled in a scandal over the bonus compensation the executives at American international Group (AIG:NYSE)have received.

As the turmoil around AIG continues to evolve, it is interesting to note that a top recipient of campaign contributions from AIG, rivaling President Obama, is Dodd. Dodd has been caught skirting the truth at best in this scandal, as his incompetence continues to hurt this country.

Our Congressional representation thinks America is back lashing at these bonuses being paid to AIG workers, but they are mistaken. America is pissed at the Congress, and quickly becoming disappointed in President Obama, who I think is learning on the fly while he drastically aims to enact policy that places this country in economic, social and geopolitical peril.
