Poisonous Bloom

Certainly, Barack Obama, he who "knows" we are going to have to change our history and traditions, is at the top of list, but in high speed pursuit is would be dictator Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City.
Without question, Bloomberg is out of control.
I would not elect Bloomberg, a former republican turned independent, to pick up the garbage outside. Good thing, because when pressed into action clearing the streets from snow in NYC, he failed miserably. But Bloomberg and his fellow progressives do not waste time learning from their failures, they mash the gas enacting additional governance over the people, restricting freedom and liberty.
For Bloomberg, the list is long. Bloomberg scolded Rudy Guiliani after 9-11 about postponing elections and holding office a little over the term due to the horrific recovery and clean up efforts. When a bomber almost set off a bomb in Times Square, Bloomberg speculated the bomber was a Tea Party member upset about Obamacare. Bloomberg banned food for the homeless because regulatory rules he implemented regarding salt and fat content could not be adequately monitored.
As you may suspect, Bloomberg fully supported the building of an Islamic Mega Mosque blocks from ground zero, and supported trying Guantanamo detainees in New York City. In the aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre, Boomberg called for an assault weapons ban.
Super storm Hurricane Sandy provided yet another opportunity of failure for Bloomberg, as citizens got very little of promised help. While Mayor Mike was successful in limiting freedom via curfews and road closings, when he toured the Rockaways in Queens he quite appropriately got an earful, while hiding behind his media officer (while he was standing there).
In a ridiculous move, Bloomberg also banned serving soft drinks over 16 ounces, which as you can see below, I gleefully violate with my 64 ounce Diet Coke. Oh thank heaven for 7-11.!
Bloomberg, and progressives all, are of the school of thought that it is their responsibility to control the citizenry by nudging behavior, limiting consumer choice and molding society into their Fabian socialist hearts content.
Bloomberg has really let his dictatorship in New York City go to is head, as his latest move to control the common folk has really gone too far. He is actually aiming to enact policy to inflict unnecessary pain on his constituents in limiting pain killers for law abiding citizens in NY Hospitals. Glenn Beck discussed this on his radio show the other day. Please take a listen:
Sadly, like Obama, Mayor Mike is dong quite a bit of damage, although the majority of our Yankee friends fail to recognize it. Bloomberg is exactly the type of elected official that must be thwarted with every legally permissible action. Politicians like him who think they are above the citizenry and govern as prospective dictators limit freedom and prosperity for all. Elitist hypocrites to be sure.
One would suspect, given his sky high opinion of himself, Bloomberg will attempt to tinker with the law to allow just one more mayoral term. Hopefully, New Yorkers will finally reach a level of sanity and defeat the man who would be King.
The bloom from the policies of his administration is poisonous to free market capitalism, liberty and freedom.

In Plain Sight
The Gaffmaster, Vice President Joe Biden, is really struggling for friction out on the campaign trail. Recently, his rhetoric has been so far off the mark, Sarah Palin thought he might should be replaced on the ticket with Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani thought he might not have the mental capacity to be President God forbid he should have to.
These recent gaffes even have the American Crossroads PAC out with a fresh new ad, which not withstanding the comedy, identifies a very sad situation.
There is no question Joe Biden is not among the critical thinkers of our day, surely is not well read and seems to lack intellectual curiosity, which may be a result of being a lifelong politician. But is Biden really this idiotic, or is he using distractionary moves complicit in an often utilized Obama administration tool of creating distractions in an effort to conceal the real goings on?
Take a close listen to Biden during his "chains' remark, which set off a major firestorm:
Did you catch what I did? No, it is not that he is talking about the help needed from the crowd in Virginia to help win North Carolina.
Biden described a potential Romney administration would unchain Wall Street, allowing them to write their own rules. One could suggest that this is simply another in a long line of the misrepresentation of the facts, but for team Obama, but that would be masking the truth. After all, it is Obama and the Democrats that are ignoring the rule of law and allowing banks to engage in theft without fear of prosecution.
On the same day Biden was seemingly wrestling with reality, a report surfaced that in aftermath of financial fallout over the bankruptcy of MF Global, formal charges against CEO Jon Corzine and other MF Global executives are not expected. Corzine, the former Governor of New Jersey, Goldman Sachs CEO and high ranking Democrat bungler with strong ties to the Obama administration, is alleged to have commingled account funds with house funds and lost it all betting on European arbitrage. In other words, he engaged in theft of customer money.
Ann Barnhardt, a former independent introducing brokerage company who shut down her cattle futures business after she deemed integrity in the futures market was lost, has long predicted Corzine would walk away scott free. She was right.
If an enforceable rule of law is not present in our capital markets, which have a major moral component, at the brokerage level, then at some point, perhaps during a crisis, no dollar is safe. It is bad enough that folks in high places like Corzine get away with this type of theft, but to have the administration, who through the likes of Solyndra and numerous examples of crony capitalism has rewarded friends and supporters with tax dollars, run off at the mouth about how it is the Republicans that allow white collar law breakers to escape the grip of the rule of law is farcical and shameful.
While the mainstream media appropriately hammers Biden on his "chains" remark, insensitive at best to our fellow black Americans, nobody seems to have caught the Obama-Biden team in a situation in which they are not simply misrepresenting the truth, but lying to your face about a enforcing the rule of law in an arena that is the center of the financial crisis our country has been languishing in.
Obviously, the Obama administration actions does not match their rhetoric, and the horrendous results that they now fully own are nothing short of abysmal. With nothing to run on or with, you might think they could at least acknowledge some level of truth, but no such luck.
Their lies are right out in front for all of the electorate to see; in plain sight.

What The Hell Are You Doing?
Obtaining absorption of the weekly news cycle is nothing short of head scratching these days, with all the absolute non sense taking place across the fruited plain. However, it is particularly distressing when it includes folks have been thought to be operating from a common sense perspective. This week, we had three big eye brow raisers, and in response, we quote America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani; What The Hell Are You Doing?

Hey Newt Gingrich, what the hell are you doing?
Mitt Romney seems to be increasing his foothold on securing the GOP nomination after victories in Iowa and New Hampshire, so in seeming desperate acts, Newt Gingrich unleashed a barrage of attacks on Romney and the action of the firm he helped found, Bain & Company, a venture capitalist firm. While there are several legitimate avenues of attack on Mitt, Gingrich choose to hit Bain and the business practices of venture capitalist firms as evil, job killers and something Americans despise.
Rudy Giuliani, joining Steve Doocy, Alisyn Camerota and Eric Boling on Fox & Friends, is far from amused. Take a listen:
As sad as that is, particularly from "the smartest guy in the room", Texas Governor Rick Perry felt compelled to join in, calling Bain a "vulture" capitalist firm. Come again?
Hey Rick Perry, what the hell are you doing?
Venture capitalist firms like Bain are integral to our capitalist system and free market enterprise. For mid sized firms that are losing their way, venture capitalist firms, typically invited in by shareholders, provide guidance, operational expertise, asset management and capital, generally for a piece of the company in an effort to help the company survive and thrive.
It is a risky venture, with marginal success rates. However, when successful, payoffs can be huge. Not just for the venture capital firm, but for the company, the employees, shareholders and in most cases, the communities which house the business operations. For Bain, companies like Staples, Clear Channel and The Sports Authority are three Bain Capital success stories.
Within 20 miles of my office, these three companies alone employ an estimated 500 people, who need places to live, work and play, which is most beneficial to the economy here in Orlando.
Bain Capital and similar firms should be appreciated for playing a vital role in helping assist in the expansion of commerce, which is vital for a capitalist system to bear fruit. Gingrich and Perry should be well aware of this, and should be called out for taking the approach of the socialist Democrats in railing against capitalism and free markets. I just did.
Hey Mitt Romney, what the hell are you doing?
In the aftermath a big victory in New Hampshire, Mitt Romney gave an outstanding victory speech, hitting all the chords conservatives are longing to hear. If we could trust this is what we would get with a Romney presidency, I think everyone would be on board. We cannot, as the very next day, Romney offered the following:
In the general election I’ll be pointing out that the president took the reins at General Motors and Chrysler – closed factories, closed dealerships laid off thousands and thousands of workers – he did it to try to save the business.
Obama violated countless free market principles in "saving" General Motors and Chrysler, most notably in the shafting the bondholders and closing down of dealerships with ties to the Republican party. The interference in the marketplace by Obama, exhibiting crony capitalism by picking winners and using tax payer funds to benefit friends and campaign supporters, are actions to be strongly condemned, not celebrated. Rush Limbaugh appropriately hammered Romney on his remarks.
Hey Haley Barbour, what the hell are you doing?
I do not know where the "tradition" of pardoning folks after a term in office came from, but I do not find a compelling reason to continue it. Certainly, there would be cases where such an action is warranted, and that is fine. One of the most celebrated cases came with Bill Clinton pardoning Marc Rich, which I find an error.
Unfortunately, this practice is not confined to Democrats. Enter Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour. Barbour has done a very good job as Governor of Mississippi, and was considered a potential GOP presidential candidate. As he concluded his term, he pardons several individuals that need to remain behind bars.
Media outlets have outlined the cases of a handful of these folks, and a Judge has blocked the release of those still incarcerated.
Although Barbour is "very comfortable" in his decision, I am very comfortable in finding him in gross error and condemning his action. Based upon actions such as this, the practice of knee jerk pardoning bus loads of criminals should cease. If these folks cannot do the time, they should not have committed the crime.
Perhaps common sense will re-assert itself this week, but I doubt it.

Sunday Night Song
Today, on the tenth anniversary of the horrific events of September 11, 2001, the 9-11 Memorial was dedicated among a series of events during this day of remembrance.
At the events at Ground Zero this morning, America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, read from scripture.
Very shortly afterward, Paul Simon performed an acoustic rendition of his terrific song he made famous as part of the duo Simon & Garfunkel, The Sound of Silence. The song is as beautiful as the Memorial is, and is the choice for the Sunday Night Song for 9-11-11.
May God Bless all those who gave on this day, the families of those lost and The United States of America.

The Company He Keeps
It has been a busy week. Did you get your brackets filled out? Get all the accommodations made made on the next of your monthly vacations? Me neither.
We were all scratching our heads on the apparent dithering going on as President Obama watched as Colonel Muammar Gaddafi blasted rebels in country, threatening to cleanse them. While we are not the policemen of the world, but we do expect a level of leadership from our Commander in Chief.
While the world is seemingly on fire, what with our great friends in Japan suffering unparalleled disaster and the middle east in significant turmoil, Obama got all this done. He is all Rock Talk Jayhawk to cut the nets down.
Our response to the crisis in Japan is most troubling, as is most of the significant moves made by Obama. Beyond that, however, is a much more serious matter, and that has to deal with the action undertaken in Libya. I know what you are thinking, and you are right. But there is more.
We were all scratching our heads on the apparent dithering going on as President Obama watched as Colonel Muammar Gaddafi blasted rebels in country, threatening to cleanse them. While we are not the policemen of the world, but we do expect a level of leadership from our Commander in Chief.
We were not getting that leadership in this case. Why? It is not hard to come to a conclusion. Obama may claim he is not tight with Rev. Jeremiah Wright or Louis Farrakhan, but he is, and these guys are friends with Gaddafi. So while Obama will claim publicly Gaddafi "has to go", he will sit out the affair.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was reportedly incensed by the failure of Obama to make a decision in this matter, but she knows the real story. Already this week, we have heard in the media that Hillary would have been better as President in this arena, even from Rudy Giuliani. As I have written before, tread most carefully on that score.
France, leaders in absolutely nothing but surrender over the years, took the lead under President Nikolas Sarkozy to form a coalition to enter into military action against Libya. After getting the United Nations on board, Obama had no choice but to reluctantly go along.
Now, Obama has got a whole slew of issues that extend far beyond the lack of any orchestrated plan of action in Libya. First, by not consulting the Congress, did Obama act outside his constitutional authority in attacking Libya? J. B. Williams over at American Thinker makes that case.
In fact, Obama has been very effective at operating outside of Congress, from the appointing of the Czars early in his administration to enforcing cap and trade measures through the office of the EPA.
With the military action, Obama's base of support, including Wright and Farrakhan, have issued stern rhetoric his way. Weasel Zippers has more on Farrakhan. Certainly, all the left wing moon bats and George Soros led organizations will be up in arms over such action, or is that just when George W. Bush is in office? Will they turn on him?
The real story here is Obama is not against Gaddafi as you and I are. Obama is on the side of Wright and Farrakahn, who share the same beliefs as Gaddafi. The actions of France, France mind you, put Obama in a reluctant position of acting. Otherwise, one would expect, even given our media, reasonable questions regarding his beliefs in the role of America in the world would be put forth.
The real answer to those questions is not the same answers you and I would give. Any sound thought on the subject would draw this conclusion. You can learn volumes about someone by the company they keep. With Obama, it is not E. F. Hutton, Great Britain and Japan; it is Venezuela and the likes of Gaddafi, Farrakahn and his nation of Islam, and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Mega Mosque Masquarade
The Mega Mosque at Ground Zero is becoming quite the media darling. The exponential increase in coverage of this controversy has me looking at what the other hand is doing.
Not surprisingly, the mainstream media has taken their marching orders and is firing pro mosque propaganda on all cylinders. Over at CNN, on Anderson Cooper 180, guest host John Roberts interviewed Pamela Geller and essentially fingered her as the architect of stirring up the controversy, not bothering to consider over 60% of Americans and over 70% on New Yorkers are against the mosque being constructed in the proposed location.
Now, the Associated Press has issued a directive to continue to avoid the phrase "ground zero mosque" or "mosque at ground zero" on all platforms. Maybe if the media instructs us uninformed rednecks that the site is not in view of Ground Zero, we will believe it. Let me be clear. As I have said in the past, the Ground Zero Mosque is quite appropriate a name for the Cordoba Project. Although, I do have a fondness for Hamosque, courtesy of Rush Limbaugh.
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D:CA), called for an investigation of those against the mosque at Ground Zero. Awash in her own arrogance, Pelosi is nothing short of appalling. Debra Burlingame, of the 9/11 Families for a Strong America, discussed Pelosi on Fox & Friends this morning.
It would be hard to believe that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a progressive who cannot contain his excitement regarding the prospective mosque, has any meaningful support remaining given the job he has been doing.
Count America's Mayor, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, among those against Bloomberg and against the construction of the Ground Zero mosque.
I am beginning to think the whole mosque episode is an example of the Overton Window theory. Yep, the same theory Glenn Beck's best selling book, The Overton Window, is centered around. Instigate some discussion outside the main boundaries and then walk the discourse back, resting at a place and "moving the window" closer to the desired area of discussion.
I continue to applaud the efforts and leadership of the mainstream media's villain, Pamela Geller, and others including Debra Burlingame, in leading the opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque.
The terrorists are still trying to kill us. Make a decision. You are with us, or against us.

Diary of a Wimpy President
Americans are watching with extreme sadness the effects of the ongoing BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Unfortunately, the Obama administration is treating the spill as a political event and not the economic and environmental catastrophe that it is for America. It is immoral for our government to not treat this spill as an emergency extending every imaginable effort to plug the hole and contain the spill.
There will be time for pointing fingers, but in thinking how our President ran off at the mouth at every opportunity to berate George W. Bush during the response to Hurricane Katrina, his response to this spill as our Commander and Chief is appalling.
Reflect back to Obama running his mouth:
Amongst all the basketball games and concerts, even some of the strongest supporters of the anointed one have called his competence into question, including Peggy Noonan and James Carville.
HT/GatewayPundit
The areas of Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi are already unnecessarily damaged, and Florida is next. What is immediately needed is some leadership, something that is quite obviously lacking with President Obama. Leadership is something America's Mayor knows something about, and he indicates that the response to the spill by Obama has been horrendous. Take a listen:
As the good ole boys often say heading down the backstretch; lead, follow or get out the way! Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal should have sideswiped Obama and gotten busy weeks ago on his strategy, letting the chips fall where they may. Florida Governor Charlie Crist had better urgently get to work as well. Someone needs to display some intelligent leadership immediately. Our President, who is busy engaging in sports, partying, concerts and assisting political partners while the oil just keeps gushing, is seriously lacking in leadership and given his propensity to blame everyone else for the problems, is a wimp.
Entries in many diaries, and/or blogs, will document this disgraceful behavior during a real American crisis. Think folks are pissed now, wait until the economic effect of this , along with all the other moronic economic decisions, becomes apparent in the form a double dip recession.

Rethink Kerik Penalty

With football finished there is not much going on Sunday night, other than prolonging the arrival of Monday, and with that I often find myself tuned into Geraldo at Large on FNC. Doesn't Kimberly Guilfoyle just look lovely?
Anyhow, this past Sunday Geraldo profiled the case of former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, who was recently sentenced to jail for accepting improper benefits in the form of some construction work while in office. And sentenced he was! MOXNEWS.com has the video. Take a listen:
VIDEO/MOXNEWS.com
I admittedly am not a scholar on the case, but reports suggest the Judge slapped Kerik with the maximum penalty, and then some. Guilfoyle, a former Assistant District Attorney, agreed the sentence was inexcusably harsh, exceeding an agreed upon range of sentencing by the opposing counsels.

Given that Kerik is a military veteran and served this nation in outstanding fashion during and in the aftermath of 9-11 in his capacity with NYPD, I think the sentence handed him was excessive and should be reviewed and adjusted.
I, for one, Thank You Mr. Kerik and wish you well.

Lessons Learned From Giuliani
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, well known for his masterful performance under the extreme duress of the terrorists attacks on September 11, 2001, brought New York City back from excessive crime and massive budgetary shortfalls.
The issues Giuliani faced in NYC are not to scale of what the Obama administration currently faces. However, Giuliani's tenure does provide a blueprint for success that can be examined, and unfortunately, the Obama administration is going a different direction. And you wonder why we are cliff diving at the corner of Wall and Broad. Take a listen to Rudy with Neil Cavuto on FOX Business:

Run Like Hell
Investors Business Daily, editorializing about potential cabinet members of President-elect Barack Obama, has put forth an alarming scenario which every American citizen should read in Another Brick In "The Wall".
Among those being considered by the Obama transition team for the post of Attorney General (a post likely to have gone to Rudolph Giuliani had McCain won) is former Clinton administration member Jamie Gorelick. As IBD accurately points out, this woman has the distinction of being negatively involved in the conditions that allowed 9-11 to take place and how the housing crisis to unfolded. Gorelick, as a member of the 9-11 commission, displayed a level of arrogance not commonly witnessed given her actions in placing the "wall" between governmental agencies prohibiting the "connecting of the dots".
Adding to idiocy, she spent several years, pocketing millions, as a board member of Fannie Mae, along with Jim Johnson and under CEO Franklin Raines, both of whom are former Clinton administration players and Obama advisors. Can you imagine?
For the love of Pete, could we please keep this woman away from things that negatively affect our children's future?
Anyhow, IBD slams her finger in the door, as well they should, particularly since the conductors of the Obama train, or the mainstream media, won't.
If she wins this position, Run Like Hell!

Rudy 2008
We have received a wake up call from hell. Now the question is simple: Do we rally to defeat this evil, while there is still time, or do we press a collective snooze button and go back to business as usual? The time for action is now. Today the terrorists have the will to destroy us, but they do not have the power. There is no doubt that we have the power to crush them. Now we must also show that we have the will to do just that. Once any part of the terror network acquires nuclear weapons, this equation will fundamentally change, and with it the course of human affairs. This is the historical imperative that now confronts all of us. ----------Benjamin Netanyahu 9-20-2001
As I evaluate my selection for President in the Republican Primary, the above quote from Benjamin Netanyahu figures prominently in my mind. I have always stood firmly against one issue voters, but
if these Islamic terrorists get the upper hand, balancing the budget won't matter a whole lot.
With this in mind, and for a variety of reasons, my choice is Rudy Giuliani. Rudy obviously understands the
the importance of protecting this nation from the Islamic terrorists or any other nations or groups which will harm on us. I am looking for someone who is on offense in this regard and Rudy is.
Giuliani is also a supply side economic thinker. He has a proven record of fiscal conservative governance, complete with lower taxes, reducing the size of government while increasing it's efficiency, creating jobs and growing the economy.
Rudy has demonstrated his ability in problem solving, as evidenced by his record in New York City. Although he has vast experience in
government, he would be a breath of fresh air in Washington.
Certainly, like anyone else, Rudy is not free from professional and personal setbacks. Unlike many, he holds himself accountable for those and learns from these lessens. I am looking for someone with accountability.
I find many attributes of some of the competing candidates outstanding. At the end of the day, I find Rudolph Giuliani best suits my objectives and he has my support.
