Actions In Contrast Of A King

Today, coinciding with the day our nation celebrates the birthday of Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., The United States of America inaugurated a president for the 57th time as Barack Obama, our 44th president, was sworn in, sadly, for a second term.

Recently, a Facebook post came across my page where an individual claimed MLK meant nothing to him and he wondered why a holiday was wasted in such fashion.  Sadly, this individual is grossly lacking the proper historical perspective on Dr. King, an individual most worthy of the high regard our nation holds him in.  Dr. King was a deep man of faith, who preached equality and personal responsibility through peace, civility and love with exemplary leadership in rhetoric and action.

While it is hard to imagine the goings on back when Dr. King led his movement, rest assured his work was righteous and most difficult, ultimately costing him his life.  King was relentless and did not waiver in his grand objectives, but he had faith in what he was working to accomplish and knew he would have history on his side.

If you examine the picture below of Dr. King leading a march, while you can see his resolve, you can also clearly see the fear written on he and his fellow civil rights activists faces.

 

Sadly, over the years with the help of a leftist media in concert to rewrite history, the legacy of Dr. King has been hijacked.  All sorts of folks, white and black, have allowed those wishing to alter King historically succeed.

 

Take the Facebook post for the director of Showtime, LA Laker great Earvin "Magic" Johnson, a 2012 Hall of Bahl inductee.

 

 

No doubt about it, Magic has love for Dr. King correctly noting that King's efforts paved the way for individuals like Magic to achieve greatness. Perhaps Magic does not fully understand the new definition of social justice, but Dr. King would be against it.

 

Social justice as defined by the left has a strong transformation of wealth component built in, complete with a perceived faith based obligation for the government to provide basic services.  The government takeover of health care and the increasing of taking wealth from the makers to provide to an exponentially expanding group of takers are prime examples.

 

King wanted, accurately, for individuals, most notably the discriminated against the African American community, to be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. In addition, individuals should be rewarded and afforded opportunities to reach higher levels based on merit and work ethic, which is in direct contrast to the entitlement philosophy of the Obama administration.  King knew that if you disrespect the individual robbing them of their identity and incentive through offering handouts as opposed to opportunity was in itself a form of slavery and against the free market principles King believed in.

 

More importantly was the approach of King, who stressed respect and demeanor, for King knew if his movement advocated violence, their credibility would be lost.  That is in far contrast to the Democratic leaders of today, who claim to carry the torch King so eloquently lit.

 

See Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D:CA) leading a gang reenacting the picture above as they went to vote on Obamacare,  The lens is dripping with arrogance, but in my opinion there is a strong disrespect for the battle King fought and the principles he believed in.

 

 

King was all about civility, both in how he carried himself and instructed his movement, and in how he respected the laws and system of governance. King learned lessons from Frederick Douglass, but unfortunately, those who claim to be his torch bearers would draw ire from King if he were alive today.

King was all about non violence, but he was not involved in advancing gun control. King believed in the family and the role of faith in the family, and wold be heartbroken at the disrepair of the African American family and how God has been shown the door.  King would certainly be against abortion.

 

In contrast to the example King set forth, get a load of the lack of civility witnessed on inauguration day:

• Paul Ryan, (R:WI) was booed by a cross section of Democrats and the progressive media, who celebrated the lack of civility rather than acting in behavior Dr. King would applaud.
• Obama could not leave Ryan alone, taking a jab at him in his inaugural speech.
• Sarah Palin posted some lovely commentary in honor of Dr. King only to be brutalized by leftists. 
• Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D:NY) likened Republicans to suicide bombers; a hideous choice of words to be sure.
• First Lady Michelle Obama disrespected Hosue Speaker John Boehner at the inaugural lunch.
• Rev. Jonathan V. Newman presiding at the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church, offering prayers with President Obama on the second row, asked God’s blessing for him and his family. “But also prepare him for battle … because sometimes enemies insist on doing it the hard way,”
• CBS News political director John Dickerson wrote a piece this week calling on Obama to "pulverise" and "go for the throat" of Republicans.  So much for the media bias defense.

These are truly despicable people, narcissists who have little respect for the American people. MLK would have little common ground with progressives acting in this disrespectful fashion.

 

King was conservative in his values and principles, which led him to lean republican.  CNN unleashed an article condemning the notion, for it certainly disrupts the narrative. "But those who marched with King and studied his work say that notion is absurd. The political class that once opposed King, they argue, is now trying to distort his message." 

 

The opposite is true.

 

Dr. Alveda King, has spoke candidly regarding her Uncle and where he stood on many of the issues of the day. Alveda spends the majority of her time in anti-abortion advocacy, but is a frequent guest on many outlets and happy to talk about her beloved Uncle Martin.  In 2010, she joined Pastor Stephen Broden in a great discussion on The Glenn Beck radio program.  Read the transcript HERE.

 

As reported in "Frederick Douglass Republicans": by K. Carl Smith, King supported and voted for Dwight David Eisenhower for President. King subscribed to the conclusions drawn by Frederick Douglass regarding the three fifths clause, a much misrepresented aspect of the Constitution which contrary to leftist propaganda was anti-slavery.

 

The left are those who, as is alarmingly true with many historical positions, has transformed and changed the history regarding Dr. Martin Luther King.  While most are reveling in the drama of the arrogant and narcissistic President Obama, those who are patriots remember and cherish the contributions and sacrifice of one of the truly great Americans; Dr. Martin Luther King.

A Lie Cannot Live

Fifty years ago today, Martin Luther King Jr. stood at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and delivered among the most revered speeches in our nations history; his "I Have A Dream" speech.

King, an American hero in the highest regard, would no doubt be pleased at many levels of the progress in terms of racial discrimination he spearheaded.  The approach taken by King, exhibiting his Christian beliefs engaging in non violent and respectful action adhering to the rule of law, is a case study of leading by example.

Sadly, as we have noted, many of those who claim to follow in his footsteps commonly take action in violation of the very principles King championed.  These are actions in contrast of a King.

King would no doubt be appalled at the hijacking of his legacy by those who passionately ask the black community to embrace entitlements and victimhood.  Equal diginity, King would say. King sought an even playing field for everyone to have the same opportunities to live the American dream, not wealth transfer or reparations.  King sought free market solutions, not reward without the dignity of hard work.

Certainly, the issue in the black community would deeply sadden King the most is the breakdown of the family unit, which King thought imperative to solidify the future of our youth.

In events marking the anniversary today, appalling rhetoric was spoken, inclusive of Conservative Supreme Court Justices being compared to the KKK and former President Bill Clinton taking time out in promotion of Common Core and global climate change.

President Barack Obama, while presiding over the highest black unemployment in decades and escalating racial tension in part fueled by the despicable race baiting behavior of many in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting including Obama,  remarked how King would be on board with the job killing legislation of Obamacare.

Dr. Alveda King, King's niece, would strongly disagree, noting King was vehemently opposed to abortion and saw it as an evil attack on his community.  In fact, Margaret Sanger, the racist founder of Planned Parenthood, utilized abortion in hopes of eliminating blacks from the planet

How incredibly sad this day and the memory of Dr. King was marred in such fashion.  Interestingly enough, obviously due to politics, the nations only black Senator, Republican Tim Scott of South Carolina, was not invited to the festivities.

Dr. Benjamin Carson wrote an editorial in The Washington Times with some poignant points on the status of the black community while Investors Business Daily has a strong editorial in today's edition titled Princelings of Civil-Rights; how members of the movement corrupted MLK's 1963 dream.

The divisive redistributionist infiltrator of markets we currently find in the presidency fails to follow the dream all principled people shared with King.  The same can be said for those who seek to profit from race baiting and playing on the fears of victimhood.

MLK, in the name of love, changed the world with dignity.  It would serve us all, on this day, to implement the principles of freedom for all, judging every person on the content of the character, not the color of their skin. 

As Dr. Alveda King said, "A lie cannot live".

Principled Behavior

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was not a perfect man, none of us are, but he was a man of peace with a message for ages based on Christian principles. In many ways, his legacy has been so distorted by progressives few remember principles he advocated for as noted in the following political ad:

 

No violent protests for Dr. King.  No destruction of personal property or disrespect of the rule of law. King knew he was right, and he would show the world through principled behavior.

Dr. King wanted everyone to have an equal opportunity to take advantage of what this country had to offer through hard work, integrity, innovation and entrepreneurship.  In no way did he advocate for handouts, which destroy the motivation, incentive and self dignity of their recipients.

On this day, we should take time to remember the lessons we were taught by Dr. King, who is most worthy of your respect and admiration.  God Bless Him.

Free Market Capitalism an Economic Sky Hook

Like many, I was very saddened by the recent goings on in Baltimore, from concern over the possibility that the suspect Freddie Gray was mistreated, to the horrendous and unlawful actions  of violence and lawlessness of by hundreds of thugs and the despicable leadership just about all of the political leadership in this once proud town.  Although I have not been to the city in decades, as a direct descendant of Lord Baltimore, it was somewhat personal.

Among the destruction, the fact that we again have lost the rule of law in a major US city is of grave concern. The lawlessness led to the unthinkable; forcing the Baltimore Orioles to cancel a game, then play a home game in front of nobody because the police were unable to protect fans, and then move a home series with the Tampa Bay Rays down to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, again, for safety purposes.

How about arresting those who fail to follow the lead of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr by engaging in looting, violence and the destruction of private and public property? Well, in Baltimore, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake doesn't think much of private property, and ironically, she is not related to the Rawlings Co. that makes baseballs.

One could argue the current leaders of the federal government are not unhappy about since it gives them the opportunity gain even more control over the citizenry.  Al Sharpton, a proxy mouthpiece for President Barack Obama, quipped that due to the events of Baltimore, and the previously orchestrated protests in Ferguson, MO outside of St. Louis, it is now time to federalize the nations police departments.

Let that one sink in for a moment.  Sharpton, and make no mistake, Obama, want the power in Washington and not locally in our communities, cities and states.  This directly contradicts the wishes of our Founding Fathers, but Obama and his teammates view our founding documents as charter of negative liberties, limiting what the federal government can and should do.  The Founders, of course, sought to limit government.

Those that have weighed in on these events include anybody and everybody. I was interested in the thoughts of two individuals; Dr. Alveda King and Dr. Ben Carson.

Dr. Alveda King, is the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, who so eloquently and effectively championed the civil rights movement.  She knew both her father and her uncle would strongly disapprove of the protests in Baltimore, and said so in an editorial, although the political leadership of the city did not want to hear of it. You see, to the progressive leadership in this county, King's message is considered weak, failing to include the grievances and reparations this group feels they are owed.

As the chief neurosurgeon at John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Carson, who has announced his candidacy as a republican for president in 2016, could offer informative commentary given his longtime residency in the city.  Carson did an interview printed in GQ, noting "Obviously I'm sad to see what's going on there."

Jesse Lee Patterson had a brilliant piece over at World Net Daily, pontificating if white America just said no!

One of my all time favorite NBS stars, legendary NBA Hall of Fame player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Los Angeles Lakers. Although I am not sure if it is deserved, Abdul-Jabbar is getting hammered over his written comments about the unrest in Baltimore.

“I suggest we all pay attention to what’s happening in Baltimore, because it’s very likely that unless the economic and injustice issues raised there are addressed in a meaningful way across the country, we will be seeing many more Baltimores throughout the election season.”

Maybe Abdul-Jabbar sees thing differently than I do.

I blame much of the inner city issues in Baltimore and other major cities on the failed experiment of The Great Society, where government has infiltrated, and help break up, the family by introducing incentive killing entitlements. Marriage rates have tanked, leaving many youngsters to be raised without a Dad, or in many cases, without parents.

Entitlements from the government have placed many low income inner-city individuals and families in a box, with decreasing avenues of escape; just as it has been planned. School choice, ended by President Obama who frowns upon folks leaving the inner city for the suburbs, has reduced opportunities for those who seek to advance their education beyond the capabilities of the inner-city schools.

Government has established a permanent voting base in these cities, for those who are in regular receipt of the entitlements will likely never vote to have them taken away.  Of course, they fail to recognize they have become a slave to the state.  Do they even know the are rioting against the Man while voting to become a continuous slave to the Man in supporting the progressive Democrats.

There is no easy answer here. However, I have a few simple ideas:

*Faith needs to regain its rightful place as the centerpiece ones spirit.
*The family needs to re-established as paramount.
*The election of city leaders who inspire greatness; not race hustlers who claim the residents are victims. As noted in Proverbs 29:2, "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."
*Firmly establish the rule of law.  If the city is lawless, commerce and brotherhood is lost.
*Educational opportunities need to be expanded, not squelched.
*Mentoring is a vehicle which can provide a vision for youngsters to find avenues of success
*Freedom; the removal of shackling governmental regulations and taxation, assisting in the establishment of the entrepreneurial spirit and individual discipline required to achieve gainful employment.  Freedom to try, buy, sell and fail.
*Elimination of the grievance industry.  No reparations, no social justice; just free market capitalism.

Why not give it a try?  Free market capitalism is the equivalent of basketballs' unstoppable sky hook shot, a staple of Abdul-Jabbar's game.  After all, how's the progressive big government Great Society working for the inner city folks?  It is where dreams go up in flames; literally and figuratively.

Girl Power

With good reason, Richard Petty is affectionately known as The King, both for his second to none performance on the track during his career, inclusive of seven Daytona 500 wins, but due to his decades of ambassadorship for the sport of NASCAR off the track.

Off the track, Petty made sure he never missed signing an autograph for an adoring fan, and has been a help to anyone who asked for it around the garage area.

As a kid, I considered Petty, racing in his famed Petty Blue 43 STP Pontiac, a hero, and with that in mind, placed him in the inaugural Hall of BAHL class.  I have had a handful of personal experiences with King Richard, and he has always been as advertised; friendly and approachable.

As we prepare for Speedweeks 2014 at Daytona, Petty sort of stepped in this past week in negative comments he made about Danica Patrick, the only female driver on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

While Danica Patrick took the high road in response to Petty's comments, many media outlets have called Petty out, even hitting him with the term sexist. 

Petty commented when asked if Patrick could win on the circuit said "only if everyone else stayed home" and that her popularity was a "female deal". Certainly, while we know Petty to be a good natured good ole boy who would not seek out an opportunity to launch personal attacks, he is off target with these comments and should be called to task on them.

In two separate stories, writers at The Orlando Sentinel sure did, with lead sports columnist Mike Bianchi calling Petty a hypocrite.

Bianchi, for once, has a point.  While Patrick is taking all the advantages that come from being the only female driver, coupled with outstanding looks, this is nothing other drivers would not do if given the chance.  As Bianchi points our, the Petty name carried a lot of weight for Kyle as his career emerged.  Others have benefited from having the "name", from Dale Earnhardt Jr to Chase Elliott.

Some drivers have their own sponsors, which get them rides they may have secured on their own driving abilities.  Paul Menard comes to mind.

None of the above mentioned drivers are poor racers.  To the contrary, but they take advantage of the cards they are dealt.  I call that capitalism, something my fellow republican Petty should well recognize.

Is Danica Patrick the second coming of Buddy Baker? Heavens no.

But is she a skilled driver who continues to practice her craft seeking to incrementally improve as she adds seat time.  While she has had issues, she did win the pole for the 2013 Daytona 500, finishing eighth in her #10 Go Daddy Chevrolet.  She gets collected in wrecks more than the average racer, but few seem to be her fault.  There are some tracks she could potentially win on, but there are 10-15 drivers in the field every race that, save restrictor plate racing, have virtually no shot to win.

The King would have been much better off to keep these thoughts, which he is welcome to, to himself.  Petty rarely makes the wrong call around the race track, but this time, I think he did.

Maybe Petty was being a sport for NASCAR to stir up some controversy, as ticket sales continue to slump.  It would be grand if Danica pulled the Go Daddy Chevrolet for Stewart Hass Racing into victory lane on after The Great American Race on Sunday.

In The Name Of Love

I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Martin Luther King, Jr.



I am by no means an expert on Dr. King, but I do not think things have turned out quite as he had hoped. From the speeches I have read and the interviews I have watched it seems to me Dr. King wanted an even playing field.

I recall ESPN College Football Gameday host Reece Davis making commentary about how few African-American head coaches there are in college fooftall, although one of BAHL's Blog's favorite people, Turner Gill, is tops on the list. Davis failed to make commentary on the overwhelming amount of African-American players there are.

Monday night, Michigan State will take on North Carolina for the NCAA Basketball National Championship. One white player will start. Let the chips fall where they may. Competition brings out the best in all of us. It's all good.

Recently, Rev. James Lee Patterson was a recent guest on Hannity and commented on how an unfortunate example of socialism is the African-American community HERE and HERE. He commented how the policies of President Obama are not helpful.

Columnist Star Parker, author of Uncle Sam's Plantation, took the discussion further in a recent column.

The enabling of the African-American community over the last several decades through government programs and initiatives, which although well intended, have hampered progress in the community. It is far time for the government to get out of the way and allow the African-American community to realize their goals and dreams, which are not unlike those of most Americans. Unfortunately, with associations like ACORN as an arm of the Obama administration, it seems as though the government will continue to be an impediment, not only for the African-American community, but for us all. Not Good.

Since Magic Johnson has exhausted his eligibility, I'll take the Heels to cut down the nets!

Clinton Rewriting History Again

While his lovely and gifted wife Hillary is over in Tokyo apologizing on behalf of The United States to the Muslim community ( I am quite puzzled why she would be apologizing to them for anything), former President Bill Clinton hit the dazed and confused staff over at CNN with some kind of revisionist history. In an interview with John Roberts and an appearance on The Larry King program, Clinton made commentary that must not go unchallenged.

You may think that few if anyone would be watching Larry King, and you are right. But, back in the early days of cable and late night radio, King was a force. Subsequently, many of our elder citizens still tune in, and these are the folks who may no longer has the intellectual knowledge of the political climate to question his erroneous comments. So, I will.

CLINTON ON OBAMA'S FIRST DAYS

When asked about Obama's performance in the early going, Clinton said Obama "was off to a good start". Oh my!

To begin with, Obama's cabinet selections have been saddled with tax issues (Geithner, Solis, Daschle), potentially criminal conflicts of interests (Richardson) and a much maligned Attorney General (Holder)who pardoned a tax evader on the FBI's most wanted list in Marc Rich at the end of Clinton's second term and today called most Americans "essentially cowards". He is still looking for a Commerce Secretary after his second choice, Judd Gregg (R:NH), withdrew after Obama, lacking the transparency he promised, stripped the Census Bureau from Commerce to The White House. Bush holdover Robert Gates is good to go.

Obama also promised on the campaign to allow five days for a Bill to be reviewed before he would sign it. Rut Row? The emergency spendulous bill, sent to lobbyists before congress, was voted on before the congress could even read it in it's entirety. Not good!

I will not even mention the DOW is down 2000 points since his election, but even the Kool-Aid drinkers have got to admit Obama's start has been shaky at best.

CLINTON ON THE ROOT OF THE HOUSING CRISIS



Famed economist Arthur Laffer was a two time supporter of President Clinton and a fan of his economic policies, and I think economically speaking, Clinton did a fair job, mostly following the policies of GB41. But, for him to dodge any responsibility for this housing crisis is mind boggling.

He did not do anything to curb the derivatives market, and neither did George W. Bush, although Bush asked Congress to investigate it and was shut down by Democratic opposition. Clinton did sponsor The Community Reinvestment Act, and without proper oversight and tainted with fraudulent organizations like ACORN, this program no doubt contributed heavily to the problem. And under Obama, not surprisingly, ACORN will be recipients of part of the stimulus package. Good Grief!

THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED IF CLINTON AND HIS TEAM WERE STILL IN CHARGE

From CNN: Asked his perspective on how the country fell into such economic hard times, Clinton responded in an NBC "Today" show interview by asking rhetorically: "Did any of them seriously believe that if I had been president and my economic team had been in place the last eight years, that this would be taking place." Yeah, I seriously believe it! Forgetting the economic cycles and bubbles bursting going back to the tulip scandal in Holland in the 1600's, Mr. Clinton is out of his mind. One of the major elements of the crisis is the demise of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, with Fannie Mae being led by former Clinton Budget Director Franklin Raines. I suspect this incompetent CEO, who walked out of Fannie with 90 million in compensation amidst accounting fraud at the company, would have been front and center in Clinton's team. Today, jail seems appropriate, but he is an advisor on the Obama team. Hope and Change! And then there is Robert Rubin, Clinton Treasury Secretary, who while calling the shots at Citigroup (C:NYSE) oversaw the subprime lending practices that have led Citi, and our capital markets, to life support.

Mr Clinton, although not his fault, left GW Bush with a recession caused by an exhausted business cycle, which you may know of as the dot.com boom. Mr. Bush was then blindsided, as we all were, by the terrorists attacks of 9-11. The attacks were a crippling blow to our economy, and through the FED's efforts of attempting to quickly lead the economy back from this period, monetary policy was loosened. This added fuel to the fire of the housing crisis, with homes and real estate being a welcomed tangible asset in an environment of future uncertainty.

Mistakes have been made, but it is sad to hear Mr. Clinton dodge any responsibility and like Obama, simply say it was because of the past eight years. Translation, it was the fault of Bush. Although no doubt hampering his presidential aspirations, I never heard Obama raise any commentary anywhere about the derivatives market, a potential housing bubble, the antics of book cooking by those running Fannie and Freddie, or anything for that matter during his responsibilities as a US Senator. Meanwhile, Bush does not dodge responsibility, again, employing the demeanor and class one should expect form a former Commander in Chief.

Us And Them

As the dust settles in the aftermath of the terrorist bombings in Boston last week, the investigation is in high gear. So is the propaganda.

Among the things that we can reasonably conclude it that the Chechen brothers Tsarnaev carried out the bombings at the Boston Marathon and killed an MIT Security Officer while on the run. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older brother, was killed while Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured last Friday night.

The brothers were radical Islamic terrorists, individuals the Russian government warned the US authorities about. That these jihadist killers were loose in America after multiple warnings is a substantial failure of those charged in counter terrorism. Of course, President Obama does not recognize the United States is engaged in a war on terror with radical Islamic jihadist terrorists, has embraced Muslim interests and has reduced the capabilities of our counter terrorism efforts. These failures are partially responsible for the bloodshed in Boston.

An unsolved triple homicide, which occurred in Boston on September 11, 2011, resulted in the death of the supposed best friend of Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Reports suggest a bloody scene, and that Tsarnaev did not attend the funeral of his friend. Not often confused as Jim Rockford, I got this cold case just about closed.

Obama is pushing significant legislation on gun control and immigration, both of which, in the rear view mirror of Boston, should be soundly defeated. While our citizenry is becoming increasingly concerned about losing the right to defend themselves against a tyrannical government, Bostonians without firearms left control of their livelihood and property in the hands of law enforcement. We are big fans of law enforcement, but they did loose these guys a couple of different times, and a private citizen alerted the police about the eventual whereabouts of  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Meanwhile, the lack of proper enforcement of current immigration laws has allowed jihadists of all shapes and sizes to enter this country without documentation. Our citizens are paying with bloodshed. We must have the ability to protect our livelihood and property from the terrorist roaming our streets, and both legislative initiatives should be soundly defeated.

Furthermore, the brothers had no credible source of employment, yet were reported to have expensive foreign automobiles. Tamerlan Tsarnaev flew to Russia, where he spent six months before returning, all the while his family was on welfare. Yep, in the interest of fairness at the hand of wealth transformation, the 47% were alarmingly helping to fund these, and God knows how many other, terrorists.

Although the administration hopes we figure all those responsible have been apprehended, the case does not wrap up with the brothers Tsarnaev. There is little doubt the brothers were part of a larger sleeper cell with others involved, and then there is the case of the Saudi national.

Is the Saudi a third terrorist who the authorities initially identified and have now discarded as a suspect?

 

A third terrorist originally fingered by law enforcement who then disappears from the radar of those charged with the investigation? My memory banks immediately deposited in my mind the events surrounding the Oklahoma City bombing. Yes, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were no doubt the agents of terror on this day, but did they have help? The FBI originally thought so, the third terrorist. In her book "The Third Terrorist", Jayna Davis recounts the story and identifies who the third terrorist was. A compelling read to be sure.

 

There is quite a bit of information regarding the Saudi, who nobody in the mainstream media will mention, making the rounds many on non mainstream sites. Some are very credible, including The Blaze, Gateway Pundit and Brietbart, many are reporting what is out there and there are those who are reporting unreasonable and undocumented conspiracies.

 

CNN's John King was first to report that a "dark skinned male" individual had been arrested.  Fran Townsend of CNN also reported the arrest.  But did King, a veteran reporter who later back tracked history in embarrassment, really make such a significant error or was he purposefully hung out to dry by his sources?  Was he set up, or was King in fact originally correct?

The Saudi in question was initially identified as a suspect and placed under guard at his hospital room after supposedly having been injured at the bombings.  An "event" file was made on him, which The Blaze has record of, although Homeland Security Janet Napolitano condescendingly denied while being questioned by Congress.  A handful of Congressman, inclusive of Jeff Tucker, (R:SC), are asking questions.

While the Obama administration and their mainstream media propaganda arm continues to distort the facts on the brothers Tsarnaev and lie to the American people regarding this prospective Saudi national terrorist, the truth seekers will continue uncover the facts.

There are seemingly dozens of question that need to be asked, about the Tsarnaev brothers, the connection to the radical Islamic jihadists and the potential for some extremely troubling answers regarding the Saudi national.  A handful of the inquiries are as follows:

* Who exactly is the Saudi national, described as Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi?

*How did this hospitalized individual go from suspect to student (who never intended the school he came to America to attend)?

*Describe the area of discussion of the scheduled and of record walk by meetings President Obama had with the Saudi Foreign Minister?

*As Alharbi is known to have an "event" file, why was there efforts to hastily deport him?

*Reports indicate Alharbi had previously been a guest of some frequency at the White House, and an unsubstantiated series of reports that had Michelle Obama visiting Alharbi in the hospital.  While our First Lady did in fact visit victims in Boton area hospitals, it cannot be confirmed she visited Alharbi, although there are several reports, some with photos of the visit.

If Michelle Obama did in fact visit Alharbi in the hospital, we really must demand to know just what the hell is going on here?

The situation is fluid, and without being directly involved in any area of the investigations, it it difficult to separate the facts from the noise.  Given we do know the history of the Obama administration to distort the truth (unemployment number an example), we really are not sure what is going on, but it all seems troubling to say the least.

We do know the events surrounding this bombing are centered around radical Islamic jihad, and given the position the Obama administration takes regarding Islamic terrorists and its coziness with The Muslim Brotherhood, we likely have not seen the last of terror on our streets.

Furthermore, the difficulty in determining us and them, who is who and who is on what side is increasing.  While is gets sorted out, the answer lies in standing firmly in our divinely inspired founding first principles.

Hold The Racism

Fresh off threatening Rep. Louie Gohmert during testimony in front of the House Oversight Committee, Attorney General Eric Holder lashed out deeming the degree of questioning he received as racist, sinking to new lows by playing the race card.

Speaking before Al Shaprton's National Action Network, which actually is a racist organization whose mission is to shakedown opponents; threatening them with accusations of racism, Holder claimed both he and President Obama have had to deal with unprecedented criticism due in part to their race.



As usual with this crowd, nothing could be further from the truth. There is a long history of previous Attorneys General being raked over the coals. Most, no all, were Caucasian, so Holder's theory is officially squashed.

Holder was grilled because he has repeatedly held himself above the law, refusing to adequately respond to request by the committee for documents he is legally required to produce.  At least for the moment, we are a nation of laws; not men.

Sadly, these men are well aware of this fact, but aim to create chaos by raising false flags and creating animosity between the citizenry.  This is hardly behavior fitting men of character, something you would have thought these men learned from Martin Luther King, Jr.

Unfortunately, Dr. King was not a man Obama and Holder patterned their lives after; Frank Marshal Davis and Saul Alinsky were.

Louis Gohmert accurately assessed that Holder's recent actions have a demeaning affect on his office, but contrary to Holder's comments in from of NAN that it is not about him, he clearly thinks otherwise.

Neither Obama nor Eric Holder are fit to represent this nation in the offices they currently hold.  It is not because of the color of their skin, which nobody of merit cares about.  It is because they operate their own agenda of social justice, governing against the will of the people implementing socialist tentacles in wealth transformation believing wholeheartedly America is an unjust country.

The Founders would be appalled, as these men have a literal distaste for the Constitution.  It must be noted these men find the Constitution inadequate in that is a flawed document.  Obama sated his view of the Constitution as "a charter of negative liberties, which says what the states can’t do to you, what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.”

If you respect and hold dear our Constitution, then, sadly, you must recognize President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder are political opponents of yours.  As we have stated previously, every legally permissible avenue must be approached to remove these individuals from their respective offices.

Is there not a tee time waiting or pick up game of hoops they can participate in?

The upcoming mid term elections, with some excellent candidates available for your consideration, comes next on the clock.  In the spirit of Dr. King, leadership by example, with emphasis on his non violent approach, is the best avenue to win the hearts and minds of the people, where justice will prevail.

Attacks on Small Business Claim "The King"

In the current climate with the government employing an all out assault on small business, a local BAHL favorite has been claimed as a victim, The Sandwich King.

I made every effort to have lunch there every Friday either with some friends or with the editorial page of Investors Business Daily. The King made outstanding sub sandwiches, and I was particularly fond of the heated turkey and cheese. The staff was great and it was a favorite of many businessman in the area.

They were operating on a thin margin in there for sure, and it appears a broken down HVAC system struck the defining blow.

Small business cannot get out of the way these days. Inexplicably, the minimum wage is set to go up later this month increasing the costs of retaining employees. Taxes are rising and energy costs are set to become deliver a crushing blow to the revenue stream based on the Cap & Trade debacle working its way through our governance.

Small business success is critical, get that, critical, to our economic system functioning properly, and in the current environment, small business is taking it in the shorts. Governmental interference in the form of raising the costs of doing business for small business is having an extremely negative effect. Look around your town!

Until the mindset changes, I am afraid economically we are set to tread water at best going forward, from Wall Street to Main Street.

Have We Transformed Into Nation of Men?

Two events over the last six months have proved a somewhat of a catalyst to rioting and an assault on law enforcement professionals in this nation.

First, the case of Michael Brown unfolded in Ferguson, MO, where Mr. Brown was shot dead in the street by a police officer after an altercation. Later, an unfortunate event took place in Staten Island, NY, where suspect Eric Garner died of heart failure in transport the a hospital in an ambulance after having tussled with several police officers.  While we deem the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson totally justified, Garner could have been dealt with in a more efficient way, perhaps avoiding his death.

However, both of these men would likely still be alive if they were not committing crimes and disrespecting the police.  These men, particularly Mr. Brown, decided not to follow the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, who demonstrated clearly for our nation on how to carry yourself while exhibiting your right to protest.

In the aftermath of the events that unfolded in Ferguson, and prior to the incident in Staten Island, we fired out a thorough, direct and accurate assessment of the truth.  In our commentary, we noted the following:

In fact, it would seem Obama administration folks and their progressive supporters, many of whom seek chaos and the destruction of our traditions, are fueling this flame. 

Sadly, that sentence resonates in truth, and with that knowledge, something awful was bound to happen.

With the radical left leaders, with President Obama and NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio (who we warned you about) representing those elected, Attorney General Eric Holder representing those appointed, and Al Sharpton, the nations premiere race-hustler and self proclaimed leader of the black community fueling the flames by informing the citizenry of centuries racial oppression and of police brutality, something awful was bound to happen.

With the festering of emotions, coupled with orchestrated chaos during riots and die-in protests, a truly despicable event took place in Brooklyn.  Two New York City Police officers were executed sitting in their car last Saturday.

May God Bless these two heroes, members of our nations finest. Prayers are also extended to their families.

Sadly, the aforementioned helped set the tone which lead to the protests against law enforcement, and by extension, to the execution of these two officers. The policies driven by President Obama, and his allies in the progressive movement, are creating the environment for the economic and racial strife, along with class warfare, currently engulfing our nation.  This is not happening by happenstance, but rather by orchestrated design.

One would think our nation would be mourning the loss of these two officers of the law, and while the majority are, we need to take note of the legions of citizens void of a set of principles, individual responsibility and a conscious capable of knowing right and wrong.  See the following:

There are tens of thousand with the same views as "Marie", who no doubt views herself as a victim of the big government apparatus, in the form of progressive Democrats, she continues to vote for.  Even the lapdog media, pushing false narratives for political gain, are getting involved.  Ignorant to be sure.

This evening, Mayor DeBlasio asked for the protests to cease until after the funerals for the officers.  They told him to stick it.  Blinded by his arrogance, Mayor DeBlasio has no idea that he registers zero on the credibility scale.  In addition, he is not a student of history, or he would know the useful idiots he has doing the dirty work of protesting and creating chaos on the street will eventually turn on him and other "leaders".

At least the New York Yankees organization  has some class, and we thank them for their kindness.

With the government embracing the useful idiots to usher in chaos, all in the effort to gain government control, innocent people are now getting killed.  Martin Luther King Jr. noted the perils and danger of what he described as a sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. 

I stand with law enforcement across the fruited plain, and call for the arrests of all protesters who utilize vandalism, violence and display a total disrespect for the law.  Prosecute to the fullest extent of the law!

Firebombing On Facebook

Business Insider reported that in the aftermath of comments posted on Facebook, published by Folio Weekly, a alternative news and opinion Jacksonville publication, a Florida State University professor said she has resigned.

FSU School of Business faculty member Deborah O'Connor, an 18 year faculty member, posted on her personal Facebook page remarks deemed inappropriate by all those who disagree with her opinion.



The Business Insider article claimed the comments were racial and homosexual slurs in a heated Facebook exchange about recent police killings of unarmed blacks. As reported by the Tallahassee Democrat, "O'Connor told the Tallahassee Democrat that she was embarrassed by the entire incident. She was not forced to resign, she said, but she was encouraged to. "I've learned my lesson about Facebook; let's just leave it at that," O'Connor said. "I decided to resign because I didn't think it was feasible to drag myself and Florida State through this kind of mud."

While representatives from The Tallahassee Democrat were so appalled they were unable to speak of the remarks, labeling them racist, homophobic, alarming and offensive, Business Insider published the remarks, with one noting O'Connor referred to "Northern fagoot (sic) elitism" and made disparaging remarks about Muslims. Business Insider also quoted one of the Facebook posts as having said "Obama has single-handedly turned our once great society into a Ghetto Culture, rivaling that of Europe. France is almost at war because of his filthy rodent Muslims who are attacking Native Frenchmen and women."

First of all, I thought we had freedom of speech in this country. Although it could be considered Ms. O'Connor represents Florida State University at all times, it would seem she certainly has the right to post anything legal permissible she wishes on her page.

Secondly, does the power reside only with those who do not agree with her conclusions?  It sure seems so.

While I found her presentation lacking in decorum, it is my opinion her comments are not off the mark.

Evidence suggests majorities in northeast America are comfortable with an elite ruling class presiding over government activism.  I would cite the healthcare plan implemented by Mitt Romney in Massachusetts as an example. I am offended by those who encourage the elite ruling class, seeking to limit the opportunity to achieve the American dream of those not deemed worthy.

Radical Muslims are in fact causing a great deal of difficulty in Europe.  There has been acts of terror in the streets, most notably the recent beheading of a British soldier in the middle of a neighborhood street. Sharia Law is on the slow creep over there, and is actually gaining ground in the US as well.

The ghetto culture Ms. O'Connor referenced may be the destruction of personal property and the failure to adhere to the rule of law we have witnessed recently with protesters.  There is a distinct difference in how those that marched with Dr. Martin Luther King addressed grievances and how President Obama and his operatives approach perceived variances in equality and opportunity. The actions of King were productive, while those Obama help create dependency, diminishing opportunities for individual accomplishment and community value.

Recent polling numbers indicated race relations under President Obama have significantly deteriorated, and I would contend this is by design.  Obama wishes to usher in a level of divisiveness, not only with race, but with class.  There more chaos created, the more opportunities for the advancement of government control. As evidence, I would cite Attorney General Eric Holder refusing to move forward with the voter intimidation case in Philadelphia, where members of The Black Panthers were accosting voters with clubs and heated rhetoric.

That rhetoric is fine for the left, but it is unconscionable for Ms. O'Connor to forward her opinion.

It is noted I have advanced the theory FSU is under attack from the left, potentially due to a relationship with the Koch Brothers.  And while this incident with Professor O'Conner is likely not related to my theory, there is no doubt that if you disagree publicly with President Obama and his positions, you are subject to public ridicule and the wrath of the administration and their operatives.

You are highly discouraged from voicing your opinion, or standing in opposition of the administration, for you are not deemed worthy of  contribution.  Leave the decisions to the ruling class, and do not upset the narrative, however false, being advanced.

The Hall of BAHL

Sports is and always has played a significant role in my life. I have found that most all of life's lessons are learned between the lines. Discipline, individual responsibility, teamwork and sportsmanship are among many opportunities presented within the games that offer guidance to prosper in life.

Over the years, there have been many individuals associated with sports that I have looked up to, been a fan of, owned a jersey of or just pulled for. These are my guys, and although it has not always been a road without bumps for many, these are my guys.

In an effort to recognize these folks, I announce The Hall of BAHL. Individuals making this list may or may not be the greatest ever players, coaches or ambassadors, but they are my favorites. Each year, I will induct five members into The Hall of BAHL.

In honor of my good buddy and Sportsman Big Ole BudFeiser, who we lost earlier this year and who I grew up playing sports with, each class henceforth will be announced on his birthday, June 13.

The inductees for the inaugural Hall of BAHL class are listed below:

BOBBY BOWDEN

Former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden, who built Florida State from nothing into a national power, is a man I have held in the highest admiration from the moment he came to FSU.

Coach Bowden is no doubt one of the best coaches to ever blow a whistle, but his faith, attitude, competitiveness, perseverance and integrity helped mold most of the young men he came in contact with to be better men.

All of us who have been around Coach Bowden just love him, and we will all be forever grateful to him for what he has meant to our beloved Florida State University.

TOM OSBORNE

Dr. Tom Osborne, who guided The University of Nebraska to three national championships in his 25 year head coaching career, is another I hold in the highest regard. Plain spoken, Osborne is a Nebraskan who jumped from assistant under Bob Devaney to guide the Cornhuskers from 1973 to 1997.

Osborne, who holds a doctorate in educational psychology from UNL, served 6 years in the US House of Representatives before coming back to UNL to become Althletic Director and program losing the identity he developed during his tenure.

Even though he was winning big, Dr. Tom was almost run out of town in the early going, but through his discipline approach relying on the principles that Nebraska is known for, faith, hard work and personal accountability, Osborne walked away from the game on a five year run of three national titles and a 60-3 record, dominating the game.

RICHARD PETTY

Richard Petty has won more NASCAR races than anyone, driving his famed Petty blue stock car for five decades. Petty won his final race, his 200th, on Independence Day in 1984, with President Ronald Reagan in attendance.

"The King", Petty helped bring NASCAR from a truly regional sport to the multi-billion dollar operation it is today through not only his winning races, but his transcending smile and personality.

I grew up a fan of Petty, and was in Daytona as he guided his #43 STP Pontiac Grand Prix around the high banks on his farewell tour for the last time. Petty remains a car owner and continues to do promotional appearances, ever so high in stature as NASCAR's King Richard.

GEORGE BRETT

I became a Kansas City Royals fan when I had occasion to catch some games in Kansas City in the mid '70s, and as a young aspiring third basemen, became a fan of George Brett.

When the Royals held spring training down in Haines City at Baseball City, I got a chance to visit with him frequently. Brett was stellar player, and ranks among the best hitters ever to play the game. In fact, Brett is the only player to win the batting title in three different decades (76, 80, 90). Although a jokester with a charming smile, Brett was a fiery competitor. His run at Ted Williams record .406 batting average in 1980 was one for the ages.

George remains a consultant with Royals to this day.

KEITH JACKSON

By far, college football is my favorite sport. I rarely missed televised games as a child, and calling the play by play describing the color and pageantry of NCAA College Football was ABC's Keith Jackson.

Mr. College Football, Jackson had a unique way of bringing the game to viewers who watched from couches across the fruited plain. Jackson respected and promoted the traditions, coaches and players and rivalries which make the game special.

Terms of endearment to the game such as "Whoa Nelly", "The Big Uglies" and "Fumble" will never be forgotten, nor will Jackson. Keith Jackson, a big man at 6'4 275, is a bigger man in the annuals of America's greatest game, NCAA College Football.

Cash is King

Recently, trial balloons regarding the move to a cashless society have been appearing in various media outlets.  Among those who champion this effort are Bill Gates, an elite progressive who along with his colleagues conclude that the ruling class can make your decisions better than you can, given their elite intellect.

While a cashless society seems pretty cool and reasonable on many fronts, including efficiency, the effort to push the idea is not by accident, and should be considered yet another clandestine effort to seize additional control over the citizenry.

In the aftermath of the housing bubble crash of 2008-09, which decimated wealth and left the economy staggering, President Obama and his team, in concert with the FED, made incorrect decisions that are cascading negatively behind the scenes.

The stock market has almost tripled since '09, which is good news; unless you note the money supply is up over 5 fold during that time making your investment worth less. Legalized theft. So, all the big banks got bailed out, but who bailed you out?  Nobody.

The slate is indeed about to be wiped clean, and arenas to hide in are very limited, and the collective damage could knockout the US economy,  which would likely have a nasty ripple effect globally.  Would the IMF step up to bail the FED out, and what price would US sovereignty pay for such action?

Or will you bail the US out?

In 2013, the Cyprus government took, or stole, approximately 10 percent of cash deposits from its citizenry without consent as a described "bail-in" to help the crumbling economy gain solvency.  Should the United States suffer an unprecedented crash, don't think for a moment it could not happen here.  It would be much easier for the government to seize cash in a digital economy than to confiscate cash from the citizenry.

But that is not all.

Have you ever had a credit card cancelled, or had your available charge amount decreased?  In a cashless society, just so to limit risk on potential defaults, your purchases may be declined by the ruling class who deem you incapable of making correct low risk purchases.

With the government in charge of health care, items in your grocery cart may be declined for purchase because they do not fit the dietary regime you have been placed on by the food police.  No chocolate cookies for you!

That new 6.2L 426-horsepower V8 Chevrolet Camaro you have been saving for simply does not meet the common guidelines for fuel mileage and is deemed a threat to the governmental efforts in combating global climate change; therefore, that purchase will not be granted through your bank. And cash is not legally accepted.

The list could go on, and on, and on.

While progressives make the push for a cashless society to become a reality, many are aware of the ominous threat to our freedom it really is.  Martin Armstrong, over at his Armstrong Economics blog, has an in-depth and outstanding piece where he discusses The New Age of Economic Totalitarianism.

Signature Bank Chairman Scott Shay was recently on CNBC discussing this topic, and wrote an essay noting the wide ranging threat to our freedom a cashless society is. As noted in the excellent piece attached, it would be most wise to keep your hand invisible to an oppressive and untrustworthy government.

"This would be the ultimate form of control. Because – without access to money – people couldn’t resist, couldn’t hide and couldn’t escape".

Forget going off the grid with any measurable success.

While a cashless society may ring logical to many, for those who embrace freedom, cash should always remain the base of financial operation in free markets eliminating potential manipulation.

After all, cash is king!

Cruz Control

On Monday, Senator Ted Cruz, a republican from Texas, announced he will seek the GOP nomination for president in 2016.  Cruz was first of many who are expected to enter the race.

Sadly, as expected, his entrance sparked explosive commentary from the entire spectrum of political discourse.

You will not find a more glaring example of hypocrisy among all the smiling faces of many of your favorite left wing lunatics and politicians (actually one in the same) than their reaction to the entry of Sen. Cruz. Many left wing pundits seemed stunned, which is bull crap as those wagering the field had very high odds on Cruz getting in.

Then came the comparisons to Obama, and these are nothing short of pure comedy.

When Obama ran as a first term Senator, one who voted present most often, he was viewed as fresh, with bold new ideas.  Cruz, who has challenged the broken Washington machine on numerous occasions, has been labeled inexperienced, not ready for the vigor associated with our highest office.  This "inexperience" had no bearing on the left in 2000, as we elected a president with no executive experience of any kind.

Then came questions about the birthplace of Cruz, and if he is eligible to be president.  Cruz was born in Canada and is a natural born citizen and has produced any and all necessary paperwork to close the issue, unlike Obama.  Although it has not been a focus on this blog, Obama has skirted producing paperwork to close up his issue in this arena.  Those on the right who have questioned Obama's birthplace have been ridiculed and deemed racist, but that is not the case for those questioning Cruz.

Due to his entry in the race, Cruz's wife Heidi, took a leave of absence from her position at Goldman Sachs, and with that, Cruz had to seek health insurance.  Therefore, he enrolled in Obamacare, which since Cruz has vowed to repeal every word of Obamacare, seems beyond entertaining to the left.  Sadly, Obamacare is the law of the land, and Cruz is simply following the law.  This, of course, is a foreign concept to Obama and his Obamabots nationwide.

The mainstream media, who watch and cheer while Obama violates the Constitution seemingly on a daily basis, has joined in lockstep with all the talking points, bashing Cruz at every turn on anything and everything.

Why should he left have all the fun?

You just knew those on the progressive right would jump in with the Democrats and hit Cruz.  Karl Rove, who backs Jeb Bush, immediately came forward in an attempt to discredit Cruz.  I could have initiated a countdown waiting for Rep. Peter King of New York to come out swinging.  The former boxer must have had his head hit too much, for he is clueless on Cruz, his record and his chance to win.  King, who sits on numerous committess enabling the decline of America, has also gone after Sen Rand Paul.

I must admit I was surprised to see some folks I respect hit Cruz, inclusive of Greg Gutfeld and Eric Boling of "The Five" and DW Ulsterman.  Gutfeld thinks Cruz lacks vision for country, but has plenty for himself, which I totally disagree with. The position Ulsterman takes, along with Boling, is that, although he thinks very highly of Cruz, he deems him not ready at this time.  Among the hosts on "The Five", Breitbart reports that Kimberly Guilfoyle, perhaps the most beautiful woman on news television, was the most receptive to the candidacy of Cruz.

It is way too early to handicap the field for me, but I would list Tex Cruz at or very near the top of my list. What I do know is that those attempting to discredit Cruz are speaking very loudly about something they do not want you to hear.

Progressive opponents of freedom and liberty; those who aspire for big government and crony capitalism, will ridicule and distort the facts, screaming loudly about opponents they fear the most.  Are you listening?
