Dry Run Fly By

Manipulation of the news has escalated to near boiling levels.

A classic conflict between futurist authors Aldous Huxley and George Orwell centers in that Orwell thought information would be withheld from the public while Huxley opined that the public would be drowned in a sea of irrelevant data, unable or unwilling to decipher pertinent information they require.

Score one for Huxley.

A new story came across the transom last week that I found most concerning, and it disappeared with a false explanation about as fast as it appeared.  NBC News was discredited, which is nothing new.

Los Angeles International Airport, LAX, was shut down for several hours, causing delays and cancellations backing up airline travel across the globe.  Among the busiest airports in the world, I would think such an issue would be major new.

Additionally, given the world we now live in, the cause for such an interruption in air traffic would seemingly be of paramount concern.

NBC News reported a "computer glitch" caused by a high flying US U2 Spy plane adjusting altitudes was the source of the problem, wreaking havoc on on flight command control and radar systems.  As is common with the once proud peacock network, the story was quickly discredited.

As reported by NBC News,  the U-2 was flying at 60,000 feet, but air traffic control computers were attempting to keep it from colliding with planes that were actually miles beneath it. The computers at the L.A. Center are programmed to keep commercial airliners and other aircraft from colliding with each other. The spy plane’s altitude and route apparently overloaded a computer system called ERAM, which generates display data for air-traffic controllers. Back-up computer systems also failed. The U-2 spy plane is the same type of aircraft that flew high-altitude spy missions over Russia 50 years ago and more recently Afghanistan.

U2 Spy planes have routinely operated at these altitudes for decades without issue, so what may have happened at LAX.

A theory I am given from consultation with insiders within the business informs me that data entry on the ERAM system was possibly a culprit. There are reported issues with ERAM, and there literally is no adequate backup system as there appears to be interface issues with the previous backup system which is quickly being phased out.  This leaves no adequate backup system, and therefore, for the first time in history, the FAA is flying without double redundancy.

The Air Force officially denied the U2, also known as the Dragon Lady, caused the issue, which seems obvious. It is assumed the Air Force knows what caused this troubling issue, but they have not made their findings public. The U2 has more problems landing than it does wreaking havoc on flight systems.

Lack of knowledge leads to speculation, and some of the theories emerging are quite disturbing.

Actions in the Ukraine have seriously strained US relations with Russia, and Vladimir Putin has stepped up military action and mobilization across the globe.  Russian long range aircraft have been acknowledged along the California coast, as reported by SHTFPlan.com.

Gen. Herbert Carlisle, Commander of United States Air Forces in the Pacific, acknowledged a significant increase in the activities by Russian long-range strategic aircraft flying along the California coast. There was no comment about whether the aircraft were nuclear capable, but it has not been since the Cold War ended in the early 1990s that Russian patrols have skirted the West Coast and California.

Did the Russian aircraft test advanced technology, which may range from system jamming equipment, stealth technologies or perhaps a non-nuclear EMP weapon, in muscle flexing fashion?
Given the current US weakness, it would be the perfect time for Putin to seize the opportunity to test new military technology.

Beyond revoking his NetFlix card, what might Obama do?  Putin is not afraid of hashtag rhetoric, and he is not happy with financial sanctions the Obama administration has imposed.

Perhaps the US accidentally caused the issue while testing technology?  If so, this is also troubling as this type of accidental error could have had devastating consequences.  Given our military remains the envy of the world, I really doubt we inadvertently made this error.

We are in real trouble, and are under attack.  The hacking of computers, from major retail to the military, has been an issue, there have documented attacks on our financial markets and there have been lightly reported attacks by unknown foes of power grids across the nation.  A airport flight control system seems a logical next step.

With the US at its weakest position in five decades thanks the policies of President Obama, those who wish America harm see the remaining years our his presidency as an optimal time to attack us.  Given our remaining military prowess, these attacks will not be with conventional weapon systems.

The weapons of choice will be strategic, through use of technology in hijacking, disabling or dismantling our computerized systems.  Even primitive actions like starting fires can become very costly weapons, through finance and manpower, to our infrastructure.

The facts of what happened at LAX remain elusive with very limted media coverage.  Was this a dry run of some sort?  Who knows?

While the news media routinely dismisses stories like these, bombarding you with useless stories of irrelevance and news item propaganda, you should keep promptly dismissed stories like this one ON YOUR RADAR!

Promoting Prosperity Path

Larry Kudlow
Photo Totalpic.com

Last Friday, CNBC announced The Kudlow Report, hosted by Larry Kudlow, will end its run this month after over a decade of producing top notch analysis of the financial markets in its 7PM EST time slot.

CNBC president Mark Hoffman said "Larry expressed his love of the network and personal pride in what had been accomplished on his program over the years but now wanted to slow down just a bit."

I certainly hope Hoffman was being truthful when discussing the end of The Kudlow Report, as Kudlow well deserves the opportunity to exit on his own terms.

Ratings at CNBC have been in freefall, and although shows on all networks discussing financial topics are in decline (have folks just thrown in the towel?), CNBC is on the wrong side of the relative strength in this matter.

The dismal ratings are no fault of Kudlow, whose show and analysis are tops on the network.  There are other outstanding individual hosts and reporters on the network, most notably Joe Kernen, Bill Griffeth and Rick Santelli, so the decline really has nothing to do with the talent on board.

Unlike Hoffman, I know why the decline at CNBC has been deeper.  It comes from what can only be a dictation from the news division of parent company NBC to season the broadcasts with a left leaning agenda mindlessly supportive of President Obama and his agenda, with global climate change a prime example.

Those of us in disagreement with Obama who have been longtime viewers of the network, have grown tired of being relentlessly "nudged" on the progressive agenda.  Each night on The Kudlow Report, we have to get a dose of John Harwood on Capitol Hill, who may win the Obama ass-kisser of the decade award.  His blatantly bias, and incorrect, observations detract from the insightful analysis Kudlow, with guests from both sides, presents.

If indeed Kudlow is being forced out, it will be yet another mistake by CNBC and we can all witness the 7PM time slot ratings continue in decline.  I suspect, if she were so inclined, this would be a golden opportunity for Maria Bartiromo, newly hired away from CNBC by FOX Business Network, to own the time slot from a financial perspective.

Rather than worry about the inside baseball at CNBC, I know that I will really miss joining Kudlow for analysis of the activities of the day, political and financial. As a former associate director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Reagan administration and chief economist at Bear Stearns, Kudlow was very knowledgeable and a true professional all the way around.

If Kudlow was shoved out, I hope to perhaps see him turn up over at The Blaze. If not, I hope Larry enjoys the extra time with his family and hitting balls out on the tennis court.

Although Kudlow's tenure at CNBC has produced many memorable moments and exchanges, if we remember Larry for one thing, perhaps it will be his spot on mantra that "FREE MARKET CAPITALISM IS THE BEST PATH TO PROSPERITY.

Don't you forget it.  All the best Larry!

Ross Reporting From Fantasyland

ABC News Investigative Reporter Brian Ross is living in Fantasyland. Or is he?

In a simply stunning example of media bias, Brian Ross has come under fire for an inexcusable misrepresentation of the facts in the aftermath of the tragic series of events in Aurora, Colorado.

Take a listen:

Ross tried to tie the suspect to the Tea Party, noting one of the 25 estimated residents with the same name had previously signed up for the Tea Party.  Ross has done some good work in the past, and prior to this, was highly thought of.

ABC quickly responded with an apology, which was insufficient and not accepted.  So egregious was this level of reporting, even the members of the left wing media are hammering ABC and Ross. In fact, as a shareholder of the Walt Disney Corporation, owners of ABC, I demand Ross be immediately terminated, with Stephanopoulos placed on probation.

Ross is as experienced as they come, so do not buy the we made an error commentary.  Ross spoke this knowingly and by throwing the Tea Party narrative into this story, plants a narrative that is difficult to rewind.  Where does the Tea Party go to get its reputation back?

This is not the first time, and the list is long as compiled by The Blaze, the media has slandered political opponents.

The major news networks, most notably ABC, CBS, NBC and certainly CNN actively misrepresent the facts efforting to fit within their conspired narrative; therefore, they cannot be considered credible.
If you must watch a network news program, FOX News channel stands alone.  Newspapers you should stick with are The Wall Street Journal and Investors Business Daily, if you want to read what is really going on.

Dereliction of Duty

As the oil continues to gush from the collapse of the Deep Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, President Obama sits down with Matt Lauer of The Today Show to express his anger:

Obama indicates he is not talking to experts in some sort of college seminar, which is a major departure from how he has governed throughout, but looking to identify whose ass to kick. After BP CEO Tony Hayward, perhaps a mirror would be useful. Pamela Gellar of Atlas Shrugs agrees

The continued insistence that the administration has been on top of things is deceitful. Here on the blog I hammered Obama on this and among others, Investors Business Daily has followed up. From The New Zeal comes this video:

Unfortunately, while Obama is looking to kick someones ass, the environmental and economic fallout of this spill are almost immeasurable. What is needed immediately is leadership, as the implications of this going forward appear catastrophic.

A report from Texas A&M outlined by CNN Money tells a dire tale of the economic impact. The four biggest industries in the Gulf of Mexico are oil, tourism, fishing and shipping, and they account for some $234 billion in economic activity each year, according to a 2007 study done by regional scholars and published by Texas A&M University Press. In the Gulf, each of these industries have perhaps been dealt a fatal blow. We all might get hit if the oil travels around Florida and up the eastern seaboard. And what if the inlet to enter The Mighty Mississippi is compromised and shut down shipping?

When you think about it, this is beyond alarming and comes at a horrendous time economically, given this administration has escalated our nations debt to unsustainable levels. This kind of unforeseen disaster presents the kind of problem a prudent government would consider borrowing to assist, not pushing thorough a partisan health care bill 63% of Americans want repealed while tripling debt levels.

The world appears on fire, and the idiotic decisions being made by this administration on just about every front makes the case for a dereliction of duty by our elected leadership and leave this nation in great peril. When a disaster of the the magnitude of the Gulf Oil Spill is added to the mix, perhaps forecasting a double dip recession, this country is left quite vulnerable. Don't think for a moment we are not the only folks who recognize it.

Left Aims to Incite Violence

Geraldo Rivera joined most of the other media outlets in an attempt to smear the tea party patriots across this great land on his program Geraldo at Large on Saturday night, and in a follow up interview, Tea Party Express Chairman Mark Williams let him have it. Take a listen:

Rivera acted like he had no idea what Williams was speaking of. Geraldo is therefore either an idiot or is lying about the piece he presented. Did you guess both?

The story in question, which I heard live in its entirety, was for sure a hit piece. Geraldo's brother Craig held an interview with the some chap from the Southern Poverty Law Center in an effort to conflate (ADD MOMENT: don't you just love the new popularity of this word) radical militia groups with the tea partiers and label the tea party participants as angry white racists. Why? For the Obama administration, and progressives in Congress, the tea party is an unexpected problem, and a huge one at that. Therefore, even though they represent middle America and have exhibited zero violence in the thousands of rallies they have held over the past year, they must be discredited.

Certainly, the usual suspects are marching in lock step in the effort to plant the negative narrative about the tea party patriots. Did you hear former President Bill Clinton, as we honor victims on the weekend of the fifteenth anniversary of the Oklahoma city bombing, sound off? How about the deplorable efforts by NBC News. FOX & Friends filed a decent report:

H/T HotAirPundit

NBC News Chris Matthews provided an outlet for Kathleen Parker, a fellow FSU graduate who should really be ashamed of herself, and Time Magazine's Joe Klein to weigh in. Not be left out, CBS News got a late start.

Geraldo came back with further insults to the tea party on his Sunday evening show, interupting a report by the lovely Kimberly Guilfoyle.

video via Gateway Pundit

Understand what is taking place. The Tea Party movement has those in power petrified and fierce and overwhelming steps must be taken to discredit the movement, including putting forth a narrative that paints the movement as radical, even if it is only the good, hard working taxpayers of America. This is despicable behavior by our leaders and the mainstream media, as it appears from their actions they are trying to incite violence.

Martin Luther King, JR would be appalled! So is middle America, and so am I!

Who is Obamacare Army Adversary?

Previously, President Obama has openly spoken about his intention to form a civilian army, one with equal power to our military forces. Roll the tape:

Is there a need for this type of organization? What purposes does the President envision for this organization? What is the makeup of the individuals who will staff this organization? Who is the organization accountable to? These are just a few of the many questions I have. Glenn Beck, fellow sick twisted freak, has some questions as well:

I have found this administration untrustworthy, and find the announcement of the formation of the "Ready Reserve Corps" to be most troubling. You become an instant candidate for the Anti-Christ if in any way you were to compare Obama to Adloph Hitler, but did Hitler not form a civilian army which morphed into the SS?

I am not going there, yet, but I do see the potential for members of civil disobedience groups like ACORN or union thugs from SEIU staffing the Reserve Coprs. Will the Apollo Alliance, who astonishingly helped craft the stimulus bill, be part of the creative team? Of course, the NY division of Apollo is headed by Weather Underground co-founder, along with Obama's favorite unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, Jeff Jones. As reported by Atlas Shrugs, they have already began recruiting veterans to help launch an Operation Free” campaign that has veterans touring the country to call for federal action on climate change, which is perhaps the greatest hoax of all time. I could easily see former Green Jobs Czar Van Jones running point on this!

As alarming as this is, the organization is not set up to be accountable to American people through Congress, but only to the President. See the following:

3) APPOINTMENT.—Commissioned officers of the Ready Reserve Corps shall be appointed by the President and commissioned officers of the Regular Corps shall be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate.
Source pg 1312

Caution on the speedway!! I read that as advice and consent of the Senate, not accountable to the Senate, or the American people for that matter. This administration has bullied the other legislative branches, threatening Congress and admonishing in front of the American people the Supreme Court of The United States, attempting to diminish their power. Our country is built on among other things a system of checks and balances, to prohibit abuses of power. I consider the President forming his own army accountable only to him for undefined domestic purposes such an abuse.

On top of it all, the provision, and the entire Health Care Reform Bill for that mater, may in fact be unconstitutional. Judge Andrew Napolitano of FOX News discusses the action on FOX Business Network's Happy Hour with Tracey Byrnes, Eric Bolling and Cody Willard. Take a listen:

So we have the Ready Reserve Corps, a domestic army formed to operate at the discretion of the President to be used for domestic purposes accountable only to the President. For what reason? Who is the enemy of the armed Reserve Corps? I sure hope it is not me and my fellow Tea Party Patriots!

Media Clueless or Complicit?

If you get your news from the local stations, the big three networks, the newspaper of failing to record or General EcKletics PMSNBC, you have no clue about the pulse of our country. Please see the following story recently presented on FOX News for an example:

This would be quite a hoot if it were not so serious. Has the media become nothing but propaganda or is it even worse. Unfortunately, I am increasingly concluding that several media outlets are in fact promoting their agendas rather than simply forwarding an accurate description of who, what, where and when. Why may be a matter of opinion, and that can be discussed at the proper time.

When Obama spoke at his inaugural, there were several million stellar citizens who came to witness the speech. See this diagram presented stellar blog GATEWAY PUNDIT about the crowd size and the the march on 9-12 happened a few weeks back, some 40,000 uptight racists converged on DC to spout hate.

I remember a caller to the Glenn Beck radio program a few years back spoke of being at a Neil Boortz Fair Tax rally in Atlanta, where it was estimated about ten thousand attended. He came home and turned on CNN and found himself shown in video attending a anti-war rally, which was indeed taking place adjacent to the fair tax rally but only drawing about 1/20th of the crowd. The gentlemen was incensed that he was identified at being at the wrong rally. Media distortion or an error? No error, I can assure you. Beck further commented that the historical record may be in danger of being deliberately distorted by media powers. I fear Beck is yet again, correct.

Don't be led down a road of untruths. Seek out the truth and be informed. We can disagree about policy items until the cows come home, but lets not let the facts become erased from the record. We owe our children to preserve history, good and bad.

Our Parents Democratic Party Highjacked

FOX News Channel's Glenn Beck this week began a series asking questions of the Obama administration no one else seems interested in asking, for whatever reason. Are the media and members of Congress in fear, or are they complicit in the policies being implemented? Obviously, the media is completely in the tank for Obama, particularly the NBC affiliate of networks, save a few outstanding anchors and analyst on CNBC.

The power grab taking place under the Obama administration is nothing short of frightening and one has to wonder where the moderate Democrats are in the debate? Sure, there are the left wing lunatics, but what about the conservative southern Democrats or the Reagan Democrats?

Does not the news media have a responsibility to the citizens? Am I wrong to note the arrogance and thugocracy exhibited by this administration and wonder where the freedom loving elected officials and media members are? Apparently not. Meet Pat Caddell, who formerly worked for the Carter administration and has since become a Democratic pollster and political analyst. He is concerned as well!

The antics going on in Washington are quite alarming. Certainly, as a free market capitalist, I am usually siding with the Republicans, am are registered as such. But the debate now in my mind is no longer Republicans versus Democrats. Amazingly, it now seems it is a big government nanny state versus freedom and capitalism.

It would be well worth your time to catch Glenn Beck all this week at 5PM EST on FOX as I suspect it will be eye opening to be sure. If you are unable to watch but are interested please visit Glenn Beck where you can find each segment presented.

Free market capitalism remains the best path to prosperity. The town halls and tea parties indicate the citizenry is not sitting on the sideline. Keep up the fight!

Media Malfeasance Jumps Shark

Most of the major newspapers are dying, not only from diminishing market share due to the internet, but because of the lack of journalistic integrity of the reporting. Objective reporting on the three major networks is regrettably a mere historical footnote. If not previously visible, the 2008 election was confirmation. Without question, the media is completely in the tank for Barack Obama, and spearheading the group is NBC News.

From the seemingly personal love affair with the Commander in Peacock Barack Obama by chief Washington correspondent John Harwood to the sense of royalty conveyed by NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams, the days of stellar journalism by the once proud peacock are dead.

Alarmingly, the brass at the very top seem to be directing this behavior, with parent company General Electric (GE:NYSE) CEO Jeffery Immelt, whose company stands to financially benefit from emerging green technologies Obama is employing. Perhaps that is what led Immelt to be asked to be on Obama's economic leadership panel. Certainly, it could not have been the stock price, which has crashed.

In a mind boggling move, ABC News is not to be outdone. ABC announced today that they will broadcast World News Tonight from the White House a week from Wednesday and then turn over programming for a special primetime event, "Prescription for America" to highlight the administrations health care agenda. This "town hall" meeting will be anything but, as dissenting voices will not be welcome. So much for Obama's appreciation for "robust debate".

This is beyond disturbing and our founding fathers would be appalled. Without GOP participation, which was denied, certainly the Democratic National Committee will be footing the bill. As a shareholder of The Walt Disney Corporation (DIS:NYSE), owners of The American Broadcasting Company, I will demand it by firing off a condemnation letter tomorrow. Could you imagine they will care?

The senior citizen crowd that grew up with Walter Cronkite and David Brinkley trust these folks still today, citing it as unfathomable they could be such unethical presenters of the world affairs. The younger voting block is right in tune with the rock star, so two thirds of the electorate is scammed by the media, creating a tough situation to overcome. Will the truth eventually win out? Will we still be a capitalistic society when it happens?

Don McLean sung about the day the music died in his wonderful song American Pie. Today, officially, network television objective journalism, previously on life support, died.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama took shots at Fox News and CBS News found it necessary to torpedo former President George W. Bush. Again. Good Grief!

Palin Throws Punches

Just last week, I presented a blog detailing how whenever Sarah Palin turns up on the national scene, the left unleashes the hounds on her. This was before David Letterman stepped way out of line and made some real nasty comments about Palin's daughter.

I attended a taping of the Letterman show in 2003 and he seemed pretty cool, but obviously over the last few years his hate for conservatives has eaten the man up.

We should not be surprised to find that few in the national spotlight are supporting Palin as she appropriately called out Letterman for his disgusting comments. Washington Post syndicated columnist Kathleen Parker commented that Palin "invited the sexual punchline" by sexualizing her candidacy for Vice President. The attacks on Palin continue, and this includes those over at Commander in Peacock's network NBC, where Chris Matthews has a tingle in his leg.

Palin was interviewed by NBC News Matt Lauer on The Today Show this morning, and Lauer seemed poised to strike in defense of Letterman at any moment. Take a listen:

HT GATEWAY PUNDIT

The mainstream media continues to ask who the GOP leader is these days (so they can make every effort to destroy whoever that is), but they need not look too far.

She sits right in front of you, and is gaining strength by the day. The only question is will common sense rule the day?

Obama Wealth Destruction

With good reason, many individuals from various walks of life are second guessing casting their vote for Barack Obama, who essentially has created war against small business and the investor class; prosperity for that matter.

A famous voice on Wall Street and Obama supporter, CNBC's Jim Cramer, made a plea on his nightly show Mad Money for Obama to change course on his economic policies before it is too late. Take a listen:

Over at NBC News, where the love fest with Obama continues daily as the stock price of their parent company, General Electric (GE:NYSE), continues to cliff dive, correspondent Tom Costello, a former CNBC reporter himself, fires some questions at Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, who is fresh off an altercation with CNBC reporter Rick Santelli, and Gibbs continues his assault on CNBC, and thus us, the investor class: Listen up:

The destruction of wealth since Obama's election has been beyond alarming. Considering the uncertainty he is imposing on the market through seemingly daily and erratic governmental interaction and regulation and his astounding lack of economic knowledge, particularly with respect to role capital investment plays in providing the fuel needed to ignite and engage the expansion of economic progress, it is easy to see why Wall Street is in full scale retreat.

As Cramer accurately points out, "Hey it's amateur hour at our darkest moment." Make no mistake, Wall Street is Main Street. If you aim to destroy Wall Street, the collateral damage will be no doubt found on Main Street. Look around!

CNBC's Santelli Has Had Enough

While much of America drinks their morning coffee while keeping an eye on ABC's Good Morning America or The Today Show on NBC, as an investor I am listening to Squawk Box on CNBC while keeping an eye on the lovely Alexis Glick on FOX Business Money For Breakfast.

This morning, CNBC anchors Becky Quick, Carl Quintinilla and Joe Kernen were joined by billionaire investor Wilbur Ross of WL Ross & Co. and Jason Roney of Sharmac Capital. Joining the discussion from his daily perch at the Chicago Board of Trade was CNBC's Rick Santelli. The group was discussing the governments plan to save the economy and things quickly got out of hand, as Santelli blasted the Obama Administration's mortgage plan.

Kernen, a big fan of The Gipper, gives Santelli the rope to firebomb Obama. This is just great!

America is at a crossroads, and it is imperative that you take a page from Santelli's book and make sure your voice is heard. The ship is sinking, but most are just drinking up listening to the sounds of the band. Here is an avenue where you can join me and make your voice heard!

God Bless America, and thanks to Rick Santelli for speaking out!

Free Speech Attacked

After a local television reporter dared to ask the Obama-Biden campaign some tough but legitimate questions, the ABC News affiliate has been placed on probation, no longer able to have access to the campaign until after the election.

First, some background. WFTV Channel 9 is my local ABC affiliate here in lovely downtown Orlando. Although they have some decent personnel, Eye-missed-it-news is like most other local news stations. If it bleeds it leads, they frequently break into programming, yes unfortunately during third down and five, to report about a sunshower in some two light town just on the fringe of their coverage area because they are there for us and would not know a county commission meeting if it broke out in their parking lot, and it almost does due to proximity.

But longtime professional reporter Barbara West connected on a three run homer with this Biden interview, daring to tread where most of the mainstream media would not consider. Excellent job Barbara!! Take a listen.

Without question, these are legitimate questions and should not have caused such a stir given the recent encounter Obama had with Joe the Plumber. But beyond the obvious, the real troubling aspect is how Obama is treating reporters and stations which dare to challenge him. Can you say fairness doctrine?

Media analyst Bernard Goldberg, formerly of CBS News, weighs in on the subject on FOX News Fox & Friends. Bernie calls it like he sees it.

Can you imagine if George W. Bush banned the media that challenged him? Remember the uproar when it was incorrectly thought Gen. Colin Powell cut short a NBC interview on Meet The Press with Tim Russert?

The arrogance of Obama and Biden is staggering. Although odds strongly favor this is an example of how a potential Obama administration will deal with those against them, one can only hope it is not. America will change dramatically should Obama get elected, and I think all you zombies will not quite like what is in store for you down the road should it happen. Censorship of the media by quiting the opposition, would be among the first nails in the coffin of the America we once knew.

Wake Up America!!!!!!!!!!
